I love how you started cutting the cd’s for the colors on the back but ended up cutting them for the pics on the front. 😂
I have missed pot cam!!! I'm so glad it is back.
Love the egg. Makes me want to use school pictures of my daughter in one.
That would make such a cute and unique keepsake especially for a desk/office!
Thanks Lynn 😊
Oh! An egg that you can slide in a picture. Might distort picture but would be fun.
Everyone is like “That looks so coo” and I’m over here “How do you get such clean cuts with scissors?”. 😅
Great use of Nicole’s find! Good to see you back in the shop.
2:37 As an Oregonian, here to lyk that there is at least one Last Blockbuster in Bend, OR. Why? Idk, they just rly dont wanna close down that store and now its a whole part of its existence; bein the Last Blockbuster
It's an AirBnB type thing. They have a TV, couches, chairs, VHS players, DVD players Blu-ray players and various video game consoles set up so that people can chill out and watch movies and/or play video games with all of the shelves still jam packed with all of the old videos and whatnot.
I was scrolling for this when I heard him wonder aloud.
Blockbusters are all closed here in Texas 😢
@@tammytoth5874 Damm repubs takin away the blockbusters /s
@@SylviaRustyFae don’t think the repubs as you say have anything to do with it. It all started with Netflix.
Love the look that the cds n dad's gave to the pieces. Very cool. You are soo creative. Hope everyone is all smiles. Much love. Take care n look forward to what's next. Hope u and your family has a wonderful weekend.
I love Potcam! I’m so glad it’s back!❤
They are both amazing guys!!
I really loved the team work when you were gluing all the CD pieces in place!!
You guys rock!! Give my love to your daughter!
Much love from Nat. ♥️♥️🇦🇺
I think this might've turned out better with either blank CDs, or gluing the CDs together so you don't see any labels. I think I would've cut up a lot more smaller bits too and thrown them in the resin as well. MIght've been interesting with different formats too. BlueRay, DVD, DVD-RW, CDs all have a different look on the underside. That might provide more variety in how it plays with the light.
I like that idea A LOT!! 👍😉
Ben + Saturday + turning = my happy heart ❤
THOSE ARE ABSOLUTELY STUNNING ❤❤❤❤❤
When the lathe is running in slow motion, that's pretty cool, but I'd love to see it going in reverse!
Yay!! pot cam!!! Glad to see you back in the shop! Keep up the great work!
Great Job Ben!!!
This was a cool watch as are all your creations. 👍🏾
Gosh, Ben and Nicole those turned out really well. If I ever get back on my feet, I'll be ordering from you again. ❤ it does my heart good to see you back at it.
I like how the picture side became more of the focus than the scribed side. Cool idea for stacking! Both turned out 😎 cool! 😊💜
Thanks Mel, Yeah I thought the same, I was more interested to see who's faces were still left 😂
Beautiful piece of art 👏👏
Hey Ben glad to see you got your center back aka mo jo awesome egg
It always amazes me how clear you get the finished product. Cheers mate from the USA
Hi Ben & Nicole, they turned out amazing. Stay safe & have a wonderful weekend❣️🙏🤗💗
6:00 yay! Pot cam is back!
Awesome! Looks like you’re getting your grove back Ben! Don’t stop believing ❤
Very cool!! Would love to see you maybe turn some containers with lids and or vases.
Really cool, Ben 😎
Great project. Nice recycle of the discs.
That was cool Ben ❤ lift the egg and look at the bottom and Garfield's staring right back at you ❤
you could also use resin thickener to make your resin thick enough to place the pieces anywhere in 3d space therein with some tweezers and they'd stay.
this would make the whole process faster, but also let you have pieces floating unsupported!
It really warms the heart seeing you two back. You know we got you guys in your darkest of days and welcome you back just as we always do. Cheers, thanks for always being you!💜
It has bean in there I know it’s going to be amazing. Yay POTcam is back
Both of those turned out fantastic!!! They polished up beautifully.
Hi Ben, they turned out great. Cool idea. Take care
Wow that looks totally different than I wxpected. But still gorgeous in its own way. As also the sphere. And yay the potcam is back! Missed it.
8:28 and 14:27 Excellent (or should that be eggcellent?) placement of the Mr Bean [or possibly Johnny English] DVD!
Very cool projects. The CDs do look awesome in resin. Started watching the vlog channel first then this one. So now i see you do do wer sanding on the lathe. Keep up the amazing work. 👽
Great video, and the pot cam is awesome.
👍🏾👍🏾 😍 you always amaze me with the ideas you come up with 😊
Looks cool! 😊
Hey, just wanted to share an FYI, in color theary, for art, hair color, and makeup if you want to neutralize one tone you uave to add an opposite (across the color wheel) tone, so if you are trying to get rid of a yellow tone you should try and use a drop or 2 of purple. That should make your work come out crystal clear. Love both of your channels. I'm so glad your daughter is doing better, continuing to send healing thoughts too your whole family.
Very cool looking
That's a movie collection I would love to have . I would have used the old CD-ROM discs . Can't wait to see how it all looks at the end of the video 3:00
Those turned out great! I like how you jam packed the sphere with the cut CDs. Cool!
That turned out really cool. I'm still curious to see what would happen to the CDs/DVDs if they were just stacked together though. Would they chip or just shave neatly around the edges?
Some thoughts for playing with the reflections and colours... see if you can find cheap blank discs without labels, or just put two back to back. You could space them out by doing layers with resin in between, or glue them to a rod down the centre, maybe. I think it would make for a trippy and possibly eyestraining lamp!
NOOOOOOOOO! Not Pirates of the Caribbean! 😭😭😭 Best movie collection ever! (Disney messed up on what they did to Depp.)
I had the same thought that the heat would melt or warp the CDs. It came out great.
Hey Ben and Nicole. Just had a thought while watching the video, to keep the shiny side of the DVD/CD's shining, what about putting a layer of the UV resin on the shiny side first.
Then it might protect it from the harsh heat of the full cast resin.
Keep up the good work and glad to see you guys back into it.
I like the way the egg turned out a little better than the sphere. The sphere is still amazing, but you can't really see many of the fronts of the CDs. Also, I like how spaced out the CDs were in the egg. Definitely gives it a great effect of floating in space.
Both are cool! But the sphere is my favorite!
I love these came out better than I expected
That's seriously Cool! ❤
Ben, when you started to turn this it reminded me of an old fashion lantern. Around 10:48 in the video. A latern shape would be a fun night light.
That turned out great! 👏👏
I LOVE your work. Fantastic!! I can't WAIT to get them in my mail. GREAT GIFTS!! Thanks!
Thankyou 😊
Great to see you back on your original channel! Love both of those! I think it's cool how you were able to get both Robert DeNiro and Danny DeVito in the same egg.
Thanks Lisa 😊
Love the sphere
Mr. Bean is in there! I LOVE him!
You should do broken glass from a mirror. That would be really cool.
Awesome Video Ben & Nichole and i hope you are all well🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
5:34 I was just wondering if you were going to use pot cam. Didn't disappoint!
Hey Ben! They both look amazing...love how the egg shows the pictures. This was a cool idea, you're so talented and your polishing is beautiful! I'd forgot to mention on your vlog the other day, when y'all did the Saffron colored frogs, that for their eyes, you can use 8mm glass dragon eyes from Amazon etc...they look so real. Julie at "Pouring your heart out" inserts them in the mold with a tiny drop of UV resin. You need to check out her frog she did today with that new technique of inserting bubbles in the resin with glue, it's really awesome!! I know you could get inspired and come up with some great ideas using that technique. Definitely go check out her video from today!! Great to see ya back...Big hugs from Texas!!😍😇
Great job, that's a good sized egg. Hope there's not a law yet for "discrimination against old tech things and their feelings" 😂🤣 I'd love to see a plain CD or bit of one in the centre of an egg or sphere, wonder if that would create an illusion of some kind 🤔Good to have you back 👍
Thanks Alison 😂😊
I still think you should have pulsed them in a food processor😊
Wow you really did jam pack that sphere!
Came out amazing. Love the pot cam. 😎👍
All I could think of was that I hope you don't regret destroying these DVDs in the future. Streaming services aren't that reliable and subscription prices will go up...unless you bought them in a digital format (hopefully you have a backup for them).
The egg looks the best, the sphere looks a bit crowded, you can see reflections in the egg ;)
I'd be interested to see these put through a heavy-duty paper shredder (the kind designed to shred media) to make tiny pieces, and stuffed into a cup of resin to make a full blank
They both turned out really well very nice wonder if you could put lights inside the ball
I live near the last Blockbuster.
Yay, I’ve missed the potcam! It’s always interesting to see what happens.
What about cutting the cds and dvds smaller and using them for texture inside of a mold? Some paper shredders can reduce a cd down to pieces about the size of a matchstick!
There was a blockbuster near where I live in NSW that only closed down a few years ago. Used to go there every Friday after school
They both look stunning, Ben!
I wonder what kind of film they have on the "back" of the DVDs, to give such an effect with heat. 🤔
How are you all doing, otherwise? I saw about your daughter... I can only send virtual hugs, but the warmest ones...!
The mischievous Mr. Bean face is perfectly positioned! Yay, potcam!!!
should get a little battery-powered turn table to set the project on for when you do pot cam
the end results is amazing even tho i would have used more "colorful" sides rather than the movies itself. but still they are both amazing
Fractured Movies/Memories.
The Egg and Sphere look amazing!
It looks like they could be props in a movie, where the character looks at them to see glimpses of said movie or memory.
Very nice!! 🎉
Thanks Mate 😊
Great job!
😃👍
Great egg loved the idea of the cd’s ❤️
I've always wanted to do this! So cool ❤❤❤
Danny devito is brilliant in meet the parents
I love Mr. Bean in there!!
Have you considered using a freezer for these super deep pours, like BM Sculptures uses on his channel?
I’d like to see a sphere with the minimalist, sculptural bits of DVDs in it
I love this! Super cool!
They both turned out really cool.
These look great. It would be good if you can find a way to have family photos instead of cd's, make a good memory keepsake.
Oh Ben! Turned out great!! Also, POTCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!
A very cool and unique idea
Well done Ben! Would love to see some blank CDs done the same? It would melt my brain
Yay Pot Cam!
That came out pretty neat, Ben! Nice work!
So I don’t dislike the egg but I prefer the sphere better, both very well done and look cool too, perhaps sitting on some kinda light for the person who buys one?
Thx for showing
You were twisting my insides cutting up the physical media. 😬 I love my physical media.
But it was for a cool cause.
I really thought that the heat and the chemicals in the resin would react more to the plastic and the paint on the DVDs, so that really surprised me that it didn't cause them to melt and bubble and peal the paint on them more so.
But they really came out awesome. 👍👍👍
The eggs one kinda reminds me of a scene at the beginning of a movie when they are advertising the movie production company and flashing scenes from their other movies and releases together and then it will swirl or spiral into the movie companies logo like 20th Century Fox, or Paramount, or something like that. Really cool idea.
I was thinking you might want to try to cut a couple of the DVDs just on one side across and then slide them together like an X shape, but to really get a good effect you may want to cut four discs like that and then glue the picture sides together so that the shiny sides are all facing out when you slide them together in the X shape and then when you pour them and turn them, they should reflect from all sides. But a thought on that too the sides you glue together try to pick four that don't have a lot of paint on the front sides so that if the glue reacts with the paint that they won't bubble it and peal apart when they are glued or in the resin while they are setting up. Just a thought 🤔🤔🤔 my friend.
Again they came out awesome as always, I never expect anything less coming from you guys. Keep the awesome ideas 💡💡💡 coming. 👍👍👍
Thanks Gary 😊
Nice to see PotCam back
Very cool.
I wonder how it would look on potcam if you could use a battery powered magnetic stirrer to keep the resin moving and items suspended whilst it cured?
Being I live in FL and we have treasure island and near the Caribbean... we take any pronunciation. Also there is 1 Blockbuster left in the U.S. I think it is in the northern mid-west. I still have blockbuster card.
I think it would be cooler to have it more themed. Like all the Star Wars Movies, or Lord of the Rings. Or do CDs of a specific artist. I appreciate all the work!
This turned out amazing. I’m bummed that I threw out all my DVDs last year
