Prof. Christopher Benninger on the 6th edition Prem Jain Memorial Address

On the 24th of January 2024, master architect and planner Prof. Christopher Benninger on the invitation of the Prem Jain Memorial Trust gave the 6th edition of the Memorial Address in memory of Late. Shri. Prem Jain who was a pioneer in starting the Green building movement in India and was sustainability expert. Prof. Benninger presented a talk titled 'Making Cities Sustainable for Everyone'. He discussed the 'Principles of Intelligent Urbanism', a theory of urban planning composed of ten axioms intended to guide the formulation of city plans and urban designs for sustainable habitats for everyone.
The event took place in India International Center, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.

Dear Ram, thanks for forwarding this wonderful Memorial talk. I thoroughly enjoyed the presentation and the thought provoking ideas of intelligent sustainability. This talk would have envigorated youngsters with a burning desire to set right what is going wrong in our cities. Christopher should receive a national recognition. All state government bodies and their statutory bodies should be sent this very concise presentation to shift them from mundane corrupt ideas which Chris says we should not only look at economic indicators. I particularly appreciated the concept of EMI's being brought in for affordability.
