I built prototypes for Ford. There aren't enough cuss words in the English language for engineers. They shoehorn *everything* in so tight. Never a thought about the mechanic! Grrrrr. Getting p.o.'ed all over again. Gott DAMM auto engineers!! No job was too simple that they couldn't F it up!!
Bro this was one of the most informational videos ever. I had to go to Menards a few times to get materials but what you showed was excellent. Thank you
what up bro good looking on the installation video I have a 2011 lincoln mks to hold on to my screws I just put electrical tape on the end so doing both side took me about 45 min to an hour by the way I went with the 8000 ice blue lights from Amazon for 33 buck much appreciated
@jairocruz9277 do you know how to adjust the headlights? I just bought a '13 and the owner's guide makes it seem like it's right out in the open. I don't see anything anywhere.
Anyone know if the 2019 mkz is similar? I watched a video of this guy taking apart so much to take off the HL assembly to get at the bulbs. Gotta by an easier way
Not even close for '16 Reserve. After removing resevoir and trim to access one of the 3 t screws securing the rear cover, you'll find a totally different bracket holds bulb assembly, and the bulb is apparently secured to bulb with t screws in front. Nobody has addressed this problem and even after removal of the front bumper (requires removal of both wheels and internal wheel well cover, which is far more complex than any of the other mkx's trims but has to be done to remove 3 hidden screws securing the headlight assembly). You'll just break the bulb connectors trying to remove it as shown in this video.
Can't stand it when engineers design their cars to the point where changing a light bulb is so complicated.
I think they do it purposely to force consumer back manufacturer and cost skyrockets!
Agreed
BECAUSE THEY ARE DUMB
And you have to pay at least $100 or more for something so simple...the light bulb itself is $120-150

Way easier to remove the front bumper cover spent an hour fighting the plug for the bulb spent 10 min removing the bumper and had both Done in 30 min
Ya and you have a car lift and a full shop, and 30 mins is really 3 hours
I recommend using a small piece of tape to hold the screw from falling when reinstalling

Well done! Helped me slot!
I lost both t10 screws for the retainer so I need to reorder a lot, lol. Where can I order a pack of 10 from?
You can likely go to a hardware store and use a new screw.
Great job. Do you know the sixe of the torx screws?
T10
13-16 is not the same. You just twist it out. Not screws locking it in.
Makes it easier for me
I have a 2014 MKs was it a twist out like the person said for the 13-16?@@michaelmcmillon5933
Thank you. Your comment help me to understand how to remove it . This video is only for 2009-2012 and i have 2013 lincoln mks.
Thanks. I saw this video and thought I was doing something wrong. Guess I wasn't

Can you tell me the exact size of those screws. Just bought the car and the retainer and the screws were missing. Thanks
Thank you SO MUCH for specifying the type of fastener.

Magnetite your 10 points I do it with the screwdriver.
Wish I lived near you so I could pay you to change mine cost 600.00 and I need a wire now. Because it’s was one broke SURPRISE THIS IS SOME KAKA
Low hood lines and aerodynamics sell cars, serviceability doesn’t. (Quote from an automotive engineer)
This is borderline criminal 😂
Your car is different... theres a stupid piece of metal surrounding where the wire connector is
Thanks
I couldnt get past the shakey video
