Hannali We had to wait a long time for the complete score for *The Lion King* to come out. Which is the Legacy Collection, here's hoping they'll release Mulan's complete score on the Legacy Collection.
And I just realized the genius in this: I think it's the theme of Hernán Cortés in BOTH movies. In PotC Barbossa mentions the aztec gold is cursed because of Cortés' greed! This blew my mind, I've not seen anyone else point this out yet.
There is one bit from the soundtrack that I always missed: when Tulio and Miguel arrive in El Dorado sailing through the cave, escorted by the guards. That gloomy and mysterious tune...
Callahaine When I hear the first 25 seconds of this song, I can’t stop hearing Barbossa say “Ye best start believing in ghost stories, Ms. Turner! You’re in one!”
Ohhh listening to this brings back soooooo much memories !! I remember this song playing and when Miguel rides with Altivo where he leaps off to save Tulio, that scene still gives me goosebumps everytime :')
So I'm sat in the office working on an animation. LOVE coming back to classic animated film soundtracks like this! Reminds me why I got into animation in the first place :)
When I was a child, I wrote a book based on the movie, Colon and Marco Polo journeys. I'm 18 and I'm trying to fix it. I always used the song to have inspiration.
0:01 "Look Tzekel-Kan, forget the sacrifices! We don't want *any* sacrifices!" "But all of the sacred writings say that you will devour the wicked and the unrighteous!" "Well, I don't see anyone here who fits that description." " *scoff* Well, as Speaker for the Gods, it would be my very privilege to *point them out!* " "The Gods are *speaking* for themselves now! This city and these people have no need for you anymore! *There will be no sacrifices, not now, not ever!* Now, get out!"
First of all, this came BEFORE Pirates of Caribbean, so PoC sounds like this. Then, I've heard both of them, and the only thing they sound alike is they use similar instruments, and I have a quite good ear for music and melodies, so stop making comparisons like that between two amazing scores.
Obviously you don't have a good ear for Music and melodies (just saying). This song is from Hans Zimmer and the Soundtrack from Pirates of the Caribbean is also from him (surprising) . So you can hear the beginning of this song in some songs from pirates of the caribbean, BECAUSE Hans Zimmer composed both. If you would have a good ear for Music and melodies you would definitely hear it.
ZilkenianDagger I like Hans Zimmer bro, but nobody can refute that the first 25 seconds of this track uses the exact same melody than PotC 1. These are the EXACT SAME notes excepted one at the end.
ND01 Yeah, but Pirates of Caribbean came after this. What annoys me is that they says "this sounds like Pirates of Caribbean", when is the other way. I love both tracks to no end, trust me on that.
Listening to this track from 1:15 onwards.. I always get shivers in my spine when I watch the movie and hear this music playing in the background. Awesome.
This is possible my favorite dreamworks movie out there thus far. I love the old classics- so amazing, and the characters in this movie as well as the voice acting and hilarious punts saved this movie story line more then anything. I love the music too. Though I'm not sure if Hans produced this one. I think he did more "Its Tough To Be A God" from the El Dorado soundtrack
+Alex Alerasoul Just pointing out that you cant plagiarize yourself: "take (the work or an idea of someone else) and pass it off as one's own" He's "re-imagining" the theme :)
+Damuse8191 Self-plagiarism, often termed autoplagiarism, is actually possible, particularly for academic work e.g. at university if you submit the same paper, or parts of the same paper, for different assignments. I rather like the term 're-imagining', however :-P
And another thing. Whenever powerful music comes out today or even music that has been slightly aged, like take the soundtrack for Conan the Barbarian, by composer Basil Poledouris, I don't see him getting as praised as Bethoven, Bach or Mozart for his brilliance. He may not have invented a genre, he may not be as technically skilled as Mozart, that doesn't change the fact that I find his music more beautiful than theirs, just by listening to it. That's all that I do, I listen.
Oh, are you gonna preach to me how decadent taste in music is superior, and listening to what is the most glorious in music is something inferior to do? I'm not listening to music for social status. I listen to it for me.
Never saw or heard of this movie, but I heard Hans did the soundtrack, so took a peek. Sounds similar to John's other tracks. The first part sounds like PIrates of the caribbean.
How to get this! :O Could you be even more awesome, than you already are by putting this on youtube, and please tell me how you got this underscore track and if it is possible to get the rest of the movies underscores :O? because the only soundtrack album i can find is the one with all of Elton Johns songs on like "the trail we blaze" and so on. Not the underscore soundtracks like this one!
@masteryodaman111 There's another sound track of Eldorado i think it's called Friends Storm, and that one has a little part of the main theme of POTC. And yes El dorado was first.
Man it was great when there were only 2d animated movies. Not those terrible CGI movies we have along with people complaining about CGI. Things were SO much simpler then. (Obvious sarcasm)
sometimes i love this community^^ the only composer who i can hear in this track is john powell... but maybe hans is hidden very nicely so i might be wrong ;-)
I keep wondering, why do everyone give their praise to Bethoven and Mozart and Bach, when they have never grabbed me by my soul like John Powell and Hans Zimmer constantly does?
Christina Black Which isn't a coincidence seeing as Hans Zimmer worked on this music, but it's certainly a coincidence that the villain in this film is Cortez who would end up finding said chest!
mAcroFaze I know, that's why I thought it was so eerie :) like I was listening to it and thinking about POTC and Cortez like DOES ANYBODY ELSE NOTICE THIS lol, glad you did too! makes sense i guess if it was Haz Zimmer
That's like saying that you should have faith in Kony because he could stop using children as soldiers and start giving them an education and then work on helping out in cleaning up the environment and stuff. Good fucking luck with that. My hope and my faith is not relevant to the problem.
I wish more people knew about this movie.
Seriously, how can you not love this music?
Agreed!!!
Leah Warren same
Man this was my childhood! I even had an event where the glass on our juicebar exploded the exact moment Tuilo yelled Stop.
Yeah it’s so good I love it so much
First part of this song gives me captain barbossa vibes
Why are movie soundtracks like this not famous?! I would listen to this all day rather than listen to some modern pop song once.
People don't have as deep of an appreciation of music as we do, unfortunately.
I guess that must be the way it is… because this is honestly a masterpiece.
Thats true it's a pritty cool music ;)
Hannali We had to wait a long time for the complete score for *The Lion King* to come out. Which is the Legacy Collection, here's hoping they'll release Mulan's complete score on the Legacy Collection.
@@benjaminledesma8806 soo true
I miss 2d animated films like this.
1:15-1:24 So am I.
Me too

"We have to hit it broad side!"
"That's your plan? But the gold!"
"(Slightly sobbing) I know! Just turn the boat! On impact, EVERYBODY JUMP!!!"
Was about to say the beginning had pirates of the Carribbean tune, then realise it was by Hans Zimmer
And I just realized the genius in this: I think it's the theme of Hernán Cortés in BOTH movies. In PotC Barbossa mentions the aztec gold is cursed because of Cortés' greed! This blew my mind, I've not seen anyone else point this out yet.
@@sybren4922I didn't put that together 🤯
Mix of Pirates of the Caribbean & How To Train Your Dragon!
My mind choreographs a sword fight involving Captain Jack Sparrow every time I hear this
I wish they still released movies like this one these days :c
I miss the 90's/early 2000's era in animated movies.
+Swayol well they made another good movie about Sinbad and hardly anyone went to see it. sad really.
+RollOnToVictory I loved that movie! "Ugh! Put a shirt on before you poke someone's eye out!"
me too.
Same here
I know the feeling, they don't make them like they used to.
I never knew Hans Zimmer did this soundtrack too! The guy is everywhere!
There is one bit from the soundtrack that I always missed: when Tulio and Miguel arrive in El Dorado sailing through the cave, escorted by the guards. That gloomy and mysterious tune...
You can clearly hear Hans Zimmer sharpening his tools for Pirates of the Caribbean there
Callahaine When I hear the first 25 seconds of this song, I can’t stop hearing Barbossa say “Ye best start believing in ghost stories, Ms. Turner! You’re in one!”
1:13 You all know what you are here for ;)

It's ironic that this movie has became a lost treasure itself
Es una temazo bestial!!!
Nacido en el 2000, pura infancia gracias a Pixar y uno de mis favoritos compositores, Hanz Zimmer.
Huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh.
This music is a thrilling roller coaster ride for my ears...no other movie soundtrack can beat this one for me.

Iam 29 and still love this movie
Shikagirl1984 1:16-1:24 me too. But, I’m going to be turned 23 years old this year.

only performed by Hans Zimmer. It was fully written by John Powell
w.t.f. i have never noticed how aesome this track is!
The fact that Elton John did many of not all songs in this movie, it's almost a sin that this movie isn't more popular.
oh Hans Zimmer, reusing the exact same tunes in every film you compose the score for...
For the first 25 seconds: literally plagiarizes himself three years later with the the villain theme in Curse of the Black Pearl...
+Alex Alerasoul Just pointing out that you cant plagiarize yourself:

+HughMaha Gladiator came three years before Pirates.
Sorry said that wrong, the main theme from Pirates came from the Gladiator soundtrack. What Im saying is this isnt the first time that happened
This da shit I was looking for!!!!
0:30 UFFF , rewind again and again

combine music from El Dorado, Sinbad and Pirates of Carribean. GOLD

Sounds similar to Pirates of the Caribbean.
So true! The rythme is very similar to Tia Dalma's (PotC 2) entrance or last seconds of Swords Crossed (PotC 1)
Guess which came first :P
The Gods bestowed us with El Dorado first.
YOU GUYS. Made by the same person. Pirates of the Caribbean and Road to El Dorado both had music by HANS ZIMMER. That's why it sounds similar.

the ost of this film are amazing, too bad that I can't find some of them, for example the ones with cortes for example or the scene of the sacrifice !
The first seconds are exactly the same notes as in Pirates of the Caribbean, savvy?

omg, this biginning sound sooooo much like the soundtrack from POTC 1: Underwater March!!!
un 10 para la peli y para todo lo q tiene q ver con ella
Where on earth can this be bought? It seems it's only possible to get the cheesy Elton John stuff.
I have the same problem, i want Hans Zimmer's work!
@beeman2075 definitely agree!
The first track sounds eerily like the pirates of the carribean soundtrack whenever the chest of cortez is brought up
Christina Black Which isn't a coincidence seeing as Hans Zimmer worked on this music, but it's certainly a coincidence that the villain in this film is Cortez who would end up finding said chest!
