Everything Hans Zimmer touches is a masterpiece
Just like Hayao Miyazaki.
He pretty much has the Midas touch when it comes to cinematic scores. The soundtrack to Pearl Harbor is one of my favorites.
He really only assisted in the first movie. He was the dominant composer in the other movies though

How about Eden Espinosa? Sure, her experience in full body as opposed to voice acting is unclear but a well rounded major supporting character would be a good test of the waters(pun intended.) Plus she might bring some ferocity to the role. All that's needed is a red wig. I nominate Eden Espinosa to replace Amber Heard.

Did some reading and found out that the entire score of Curse of the Black Pearl was finished in literally just 19 days at the last second after Bruckheimer fired Alan Silvestri... pretty crazy how close one of, in my opinion, the best movie scores ever came to not existing.

sweezy17 The score was originally done by Silvestri, but Bruckheimer and possibly other producers weren’t liking it and decided to go with Zimmer and Klaus Badelt at pretty much the last minute. You can actually find an early teaser poster for the movie, the one with the skeleton at the helm of a ship in a rain storm, which says “music by Alan Silvestri” in the small text at the bottom. Zimmer and Badelt very quickly finished their new score on the movie to replace what Silvestri had done. At least that’s what I remember reading. If I recall correctly, Silvestri claimed he left the production pretty early on and hadn’t done much before he and Bruckheimer decided it wasn’t working, but other sources claim that Silvestri had a lot more done and left pretty late in production (giving Zimmer and Badelt only 19 days to do the soundtrack). Zimmer was I think also obligated under a contract to not work on anything else while he was doing The Last Samurai at the time, which is why I think only Badelt is actually credited for Curse of the Black Pearl. Zimmer basically worked on it in secret for Bruckheimer. You can find the whole story online and I think on TH-cam if you look it up. It’s pretty interesting.

This movie came out in 2003 and I saw it in 2020 for the first time and with this I watched all the Pirates of the Caribbean movies in the following week. When I saw it for the first time I felt like my heart had satisfied a 17 year long craving.
