I thought maybe you would have. I noticed this, but had different hypothesis'. Like if it was due to the weapon type, the weight, damage, poise damage of the right hand weapon? I'm not fully convinced it's just the upgrade causing the difference in kick strength. Weapons like maces and greatswords will break a guard more efficiently than a dagger while at the same upgrade level. Maybe twp-handing also helps.

Back to the NPC face thing... Fun fact: Lady Friede has a beautifully detailed face with a large unique burn, not possible on the character creator, even though you'd never see it.
Those things are usually scrapped details, someone was assigned on the face without knowledge what the hood would cover and so forth.
The reason why the Lapp Helmet looks in one direction is simply because it is based on the 16th Century Stechhelm (Frog-Mouth Helmet). The real life helmet cannot be moved, as it is fixed to the wearer's Cuirass. This means the wearer can only look forward with it.
The helmet was designed mainly for jousting/lancing tournaments, and being hit by a lance posses a major risk for cervical fracture. The design protects you from broken neck.

Did you guys know that if you have any thorn armor set piece equipped you can't roll towards cathedral knights
Did you know that you can go grab the slab by just strolling right past the Harald Knight? He turns his "head" to look at you but if you hug the wall, he won't aggro. Or I guess I should say, he notices you, but won't begin attacking. Just grab the slab and slip on out. Easy.

Tsorig doesn't always lose to himself. I've had him survive multiple times. Also you don't have to die 3 times to get the slab from lapp. You just have to warp a couple times after he says something to you about the treasure.

Depending on what kind of arrows you use, they will consume more/less stamina to fire. ex. Wood arrows cost less stamina to fire then heavy arrows. This goes for crossbows and greatbows, aswell.

The whole "looking straight ahead" thing with lapps head is only possible with certain armor sets where the bottom part of the helmet will show up on top of your chest tho. With every other chestpiece it works exactly like every other helmet.
yeah, because otherwise you would see the helmet clipping throught your armor...but I think you agree that it's definitely designed to force you look forward?

Well I mean they could've just done it so that the bottom part doesn't show up on the armors it would clip through and that your head would be locked in place anyways, right?
I think they just didn't want to change their entire armor-physics-system just for a single helmet.
Every helmet, mask and hood that reaches to your neck is cut off when wearing some robes/armors - but only to prevent clipping!
This helm is clearly designed to force your character to look forward, and I think it's a nice little detail that you can even see it on your character (except when the game-mechanics remove almost the half of it...).
In the end I think it's just a nice little gimmick and the devs just didn't take their time to program it properly...

Actually, Lapp's helmet doesn't always look forward. It actually depends on your chest piece as well. With some armor it has normal head animations.
For example, northern armor and deacon robe make it work like normal helmets. There are others as well.

When using Lapps' Helmet and using the Sleep gesture, You sit normally.
Yeah, some armors/gestures cut away half of the helmet to prevent clipping with your armor...but I think it's definitely clear how this helmet is supposed to work :)
Dude, the Hand-Ogre thing rocked my world, now i can actually go grab that weapon they guard without wanting to cause an excess of blunt force trauma to my Frontal lobe (AKA: slam my head against a wall, preferrably brick, but i'm none too picky...)

The first one isn't completely accurate. You don't actually have to die. What triggers Lapp to get it for you is reloading the area 3 times. This includes warping to another bonfire, using a bone, or going back to the main menu.
The different forward+R1 depending the weapon are from Dark Souls 1
Dark souls 2 is the only in the trilogy where you always perform a shield bash with Forward+R1
