- I wanted to replace my Ninja Gaiden Black video but decided to go back and play the original xbox version first in order to let me get some practice in before playing the full Black version. I had also forgotten the differences between the two so wanted to go back and see how the game was originally.
It took me a while to realise (I thought I had bad timing) but you cannot charge ultimate techniques here which makes battles a little more difficult. Also some cutscenes seem to have been added with black. Because i'm using this run to train for Black, I dont really go after the scarabs (unlike my new Black longplay) and i'm having to remember how to take on the bosses/go through the levels as I go.
Those graphics were awesome back then.
And today, at least for me.
They still hold up today.

It was amazing that this game, with top of the line graphics for it's time, came out and was a consistent 60FPS. Absolutely crazy.

Well the Xbox was just a slightly dumbed down PC when it came out. It had the best graphics out of anything. Jet Set Radio Future has loads of characters onscreen and tons of effects and was locked at 60fps
well as a playstation fan i admit xbox has always had the more powerful consoles. playstation has always had the better games

And Metroid Prime or Resident Evil 4 on Gamecube look better than anything on Xbox.

Yeah. Hack n Slashes like this are my fav genre of video games. Devil May Cry 3, Ninja Gaiden, and Metal Gear Rising are my favorites

Man I remember playing this in gamestop at Lincoln wood mall back in 2004 ( I think that was the year) I was like 12 and I was blown away at the graphics, gameplay, and violence of this and I begged my mom to buy this for me. One of the best games ever in my oppinion
I can't believe this game is 15 years old. I remember playing it like it was yesterday! One of my most played games in my mid teens!
This was a great experience reliving my gameplay from back then. Graphics were amazing for its time and challenging as well, worth every moment of frustration and triumph. Well done player!
Oh my the nostalgia.. Still remembered I was 12 when i beat the game and it felt like a major gaming achievement but couldnt share the excitement with my friends as none have played this. Back then I printed all the walkthroughs in GameFaqs (it was some notepad format) that had pages and pages of them just to complete this game..

It actually doesn’t. It’s available bc on the xbox 60fps 1080p. Still looks and runs great. Too many remasters these days.

I like how everyone talked about dark souls difficulties but have they ever played the gaiden series?
That's because Souls came when there weren't any difficulty games anymore. So it was the only one besides DMC4. It was praised to bringing challenge into the video game industry where there was none. That's the only reason.

You are right, i finish ng black in Master mode, but I couldn't do it with the ng2, i tried 12 years (2008-2020) without success, i sell my xbox 360 because I needed money, but it's heartbreaking to know that I never could try again

Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2 for NES will always be classics but Ninja Gaiden for Xbox is the greatest of all time. It's consider the best game ever made for the first Xbox console and I agree. From the story, to the graphics, gameplay and not to mention how HOT and foxy Rachel is. This game is a masterpiece, a perfect 10!

i remember playing the game with my stepdad when i was hella young, it definitely holds a special place in my heart
The person who played this session forgot some of the sizes with certain weapons but added that he also taught me things that I had not seen in this session. I liked the video; what he forgot was that in order to use the sword kiteczu he has to equip the brasalete with the tranquility that gives him regeneration of health. The sword kiteczu removes health if you do not use the bracelet of tranquility and this sword has the ability to take life regenerate your own life.
Beautiful game. I never beat this growing up, so it's good to see it fully completed. Thanks.

Good playthrough and such nostalgia. However, you missed the final final boss, which is the 1st boss (Murai w/nunchucks) on the new unlocked difficulty.
I want this game on ps4 so bad!!! I had a blast playing it back in the day! Good memories.
That's why they have sigma for bit in reality Microsoft had some type of deal to keep both ng1 and ngb as exclusives and plus Itagaki wanted that way. And that's why PlayStation gotten Sigma which in reality while Sigma 2 did had the most content than ng2 it was certainly the most easiest ng game to date along with sigma 1, then ng3, and re and Yaiba in which the sigma team created those abominations(except for sigma 1)

I love the noises between ngb and ng1 ng1 is like actual blood and slices being taken but ngb is just like when you wave a price a wool down its so original and back then the graphics where sooo good and that's what I like about this version better and you get to be a robotic ryu but in ngb you can't.
I can't see any differences about sword slices. I beat both versions on hard..

I remember me and my best friend spending days in his country house just running through the game again and again to try to get the perfect speed run. I probably played the entire game 50 times.
I never finished. Not once. This came out when I was 20 yrs old. Probably the last game I really enjoyed fully.

@Son.of.Saturn I owned a Playstation at the time. I went out and bought an Xbox just for this game. I never met any else who liked it. Everyone said it was too difficult. I thought that was a good thing. If it's too easy I would get bored.

This has far better character animations than Nioh or any Souls game. What a shame seeing how much of a step back we have taken.
Souls yes, but Nioh? Nah. Souls is made to be clunky and methodical by design, improved in Bloodborne and perfected in Sekiro, which by far has the best animations. This is sleek because it is 60 FPS with super sonic speed.

Only Ninja Gaiden Black version will work. The original (the same my brother has, doesn’t work). I have the Black version over the Store but I prefer the original.

@@votpavel The 2D trilogy was an unlocked item in the Original Xbox Ninja Gaiden (2004) While Ninja Gaiden Black had an unlockable version of the Arcade beat em up version of Ninja Gaiden! The Sigma version unfortunately did not have either of these as secret content.
@@OutlawzNT You had to collect all 50 Golden Scarabs during either your first or New Game Plus playthrough. Then go to Murmasa (either directly to his shop or statue) and he will give you a copy of the game. From there you go to the Arcade machine in the bar where Rachel is introduced and you can play it on that.

Playing this right now on my PSVita , people have no idea this game was ported called Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Sigma Plus 2.
The first is pretty good frame rates the second is spotty but its on a freaking handheld!!! If ya hack the vita and over clock the CPU its excellent.
Still the vanilla version is great and has extra content.
I love the older generation of games , I have a hard time getting into the new stuff.

I am interested in this playthrough to see what they miss in the first run. Successive play gives you all 50 scharabs and most of the armlets & life of the gods, devils & junk like old school games. Almost 20 years later , those is still my favorite game to play when I have a day off. You can also get the dark dragon blade in Successive play but it's not really a great weapon at the point you get it. Great game , I know you will enjoy it for a long time. Advice be meticulous the 1st run through. The airship, military base& ninja fortress are levels you can't go back to & don't buy projectile weapons in the store they are free in a bunch of creates & corpses. 😆

Best action game ever, at least one of the best. Man, the boss fights were incredible. I remember Alma.................and throwing my controller at the wall, almost out of the 3rd story window of my dorm room. These graphics....RIP Xbox.

Ninja Gaiden trilogy, Onimusha trilogy, Soulsborne, Devil May Cry, Nioh 1 and 2 and Sekiro are by far the best games IMO.

I beat black and decided to get this version so I could see comparisons but either of them are awesome, fun, and hard as hell since I decided to play this version on hard and it's right about that.
