I have watched countless video lessons from bigger TH-cam channels and have never learned as much as I do from your videos. Your teaching style is just better. Seriously, thank you. I would totally throw down some money for your lessons.
Both. As a teacher, I see those who aren't "talented" just have to work harder. Life isn't fair. Lol. But there are many variables. Comfort in mathematics is helpful, as well as patience, attention span, dexterity, etc. "Hard work" is the only one thing that absolutely everyone can do. No excuses there.
But seriously, I love watching you play. I started in '75 (age 5)... I can no longer play due to spinal injury. Guitar was my first instrument. ..but I love listening to drumming. Gene Krupa, Zakir Hussain, Bonzo. And you!
I really dig the piano interludes. Very soothing. In all seriousness, this is a very cool concept. The possibilities are virtually endless. Thanks for teaching. I'm finding myself on your site more and more all the time.
Thanks so much man! I definitely give a lot away for free, but I am launching a video library on OrlandoDrummer (dot) com soon! There will be tons of downloadable lessons and an option to subscribe monthly and see everything. Big stuff by the end of the year! And thank you for the kind words!
Thanks so much man I really appreciate it! The new video database is going to be awesome! My goal is to have my entire curriculum available online to anyone who wants more lessons like these. I'll try to update everyone in my coming lessons on the launch date!
Adam is a cool guy and a great drum teacher I've met him in person a few times here in Orlando FL highly recommend! I been following his videos before he bought his DW kit years ago
great video. its funny hearing these types of fills being broken down and noticing where I've heard them over the years in drum solos, older rock music, etc. subscribed and followed on ig!
Hey Adam, great job with all of these lesson videos, keep'em coming. A concept i like to employ is coming up with the accent melodies before hand, and inserting the various different stickings. This makes it very musical for me to just sing these little melodies(Accent phrases) that feel good to me and orchestrate around. Just a little tip. But your method is awesome too. Take it easy bro!
Orlando sos el mejor, tus vídeos son geniales, son muy claras tus explicaciones , aparte de que sos un animal tocando. Seguí así maestro y gracias por compartir tu grandeza con nosotros. Saludos.
Adam, I just wanna thank u 4 sharing powerful music lessons. You would be an awesome bassist. Were your parents teachers? You're definitely one of the very best drummers and teachers online.
Wow what an amazing lesson! Took this to the pad today the paradiddles sound amazing man especially when you move them around on the kit too . so many different combinations you can come up with aswell! Awesome stuff man :-)
I love your videos, they are really helpful, I'm starting with the foot slide technique, maybe you can upload a video with exercises to build speed with that foot technique, thanks and keep the good work.
Paul Houston Thanks! This video is about 5 years old, but you can find several hours of my current Triplet material on OrlandoDrummer.com. Many more concepts than the ones found here!
this lesson is awesome, sounds like a complete drum solo. DO you believe that if I practice 10 minutes this lessons every day in one month I will have developed this?? congratulations for your lessons thank u so much¡¡¡
I often think of what two drummers I would love to hear do a drum battle (like Krupa and Rich at Carnegie Hall). My top two: Neal Peart and John Bonham You and Gene Krupa
hey man yo ur crazy good i love doing triplets and linear beats that use alot of the stuff ur explaining ima current drummer at my church were Spanish so we really use songo and merenge so linear beats are a must and i just want ur opinion on how do i input this technique in those songs and does the grip of the stick affect the way i play??? plz respond back
Gotta be patient man! Remember, I post these videos when I'm comfortable with these ideas. Still far from perfect, but comfortable. You don't see the 3 or 4 years that have gone into pad work before I make these! Also, I'm hesitant to believe your Berklee friend. If you can use a calendar or clock, you can understand the math behind rhythmic theory. Its all time measurement, which we must do daily. The dots and lines are the easiest part! I'd try looking into private lessons with a new teacher!
I spent some time with a student at Berklee and he tried to explain sheet music and signatures to me (I have no formal music background) and after quite some time we realized that my math deficiencies and dyscalculia had a crippling impact on my ability to understand sheet music. I think math is more involved than people think.
Aweh Adam. Sorry maybe this has already been answered but what is the name of the song that intros this video? I've searched Stockholm Band all over but can't find it..
For those cats who'd like to know what the song at the beginning is, it is "We Are the Sun" by Stockholm. It's on the Emerald City-EP. You can snatch it off of iTunes. Follow me on Instagram: @trodondrums

Fun lesson!
I'm doing it on a pad and it's difficult but you feel great when you start hearing it.

Want more triplet fills? Use this concept with the stickings from Stick Control.

awesome man, the paradiddle blew my mind.
From what I hear ... this sounds like Ian Paice’s solos. Beautiful exercise.
"You have to know or expect the way it will sound when you play it" So true wow
Adam, this is a great and useful lesson in terms of rudimental playing and getting some flashy licks. Great job bro!
Awesome lesson Adam, good luck with the website!

I love what youre doing at the end of this video by adding some bass drum into the patterns. Any chance of a video on those ideas?
Paul Houston Thanks! This video is about 5 years old, but you can find several hours of my current Triplet material on OrlandoDrummer.com. Many more concepts than the ones found here!

I love the sound of your snare! Do you use any dampening or is it a post production sound?

Thanks a ton
thank you so much sir 🙏
Nice!
can you teach something in quintet notes? thx
How the hell to you keep those patterns at 125bpm? If I do that it's like a random guess since my muscles just spasm into single stroke rolls
32 note.... SICK !!!
How long a day do I have to practise it to master it at 120bpm?
great video,:)
Adam, what is the song on the intro?? :E
SONG INTRO > Stockholm - We are the sun (Album - Emerald City)
I live in Orlando. Are you taking private lessons?
I haven't held private lessons in a few years, but you'll find weekly lessons released on my site, and hundreds more already there. 👍🏼 😀
Do you believe in talent, hard working or a mix of both?
Please, What's the name of the song at the beginning of the video?
Just saw this vid after literally posting a video with the same title... -__- Sorry Adam...
Thnx 😘😘😘😘😘😘
Can you explain your grip? It's kind of how i grip.
I couldn’t go pass 100 bpm because it was too fast for me, is there anyway I can get my sticks up to that tempo?
Bruce Nguyen start slow
Naw hermano Eres el mejor, lo único malo es que no hablo ingles 😅
VeRy cool
