Thanks for starting with your first views on the new 3.04 beta ORBATs. As for the Elightened, i like the Skaven undertone that you have mentioned. The turbo encabulation drives looks really tempting an terrifying - but if one of your flagships goes missing in the warp while trying to use it, you have basically lost the game. A few small additions from me: The Thule has also lost the double heavy aetheric broadsides. This seems to be another trand in the new ORBATs. They apparently want to tone down on all units with all around broadsides. (see the Zhanmadao from the Empire) Sill no pure Elightened aerial battlefleet though which is sad, so you alway have to include at least one shio if you either use the basic or the support fleet...
Great overview, thanks! All in all I think the changes are quite interesting to play around with. I do hope they make orcas uninterceptable again, even though that might be quite powerful 😅 Few things: Valtars are only units of 2, so no taking 3 in a unit, and while orcas lose the escort ability, they are now SRS tokens so can be attached to friendly units for defense just as regular SRS can right? Makes it kinda funny that you can remove one to get extra ADV dice 😅 Imagine Free Willy scenes with orcas jumping out of the water to catch planes and rockets 😂
Ah, good spot on Valtars, I thought that was three. Orca's can be used in defense in a one time deal... while as escorts before, they could provide +4 defense for every single attack, a single point blank attack and also +4 for assaults. I kind of prefer the more "permanent" option during the turn.
@@speeddemonpainting7050 oh yes they were definitely better before as escorts! But at least they still have some use before you're in attack range of when you're in a pinch
Thanks for the review! A lot of nerfs all around for the faction - maybe it was too much? Still looks like a fun faction to play, but several anti-synergies may make it frustrating in some ways. The Aerials especially were hit savagely, will have to play them to see :)
CoE is my nemesis. And a faction that I do not understand. A friend from my town has them, and he is ripping my fleet apart every single time. I have to try the new ORBATs, but I do not have high hopes. I am not a fan of any ”-”to the Citadel and such, there is too much damage already for my taste. BTW. Kommer du ta upp det fruktansvärda skick som Gloriana är permanent i när du ska göra kronan beta overview, ja? Och kommer du att påpeka också att dessa -25 poäng är något slags skoj? En som inte alls är rolig. A Dreadnought… Dreadnought my ass.
I'm really not that down on the Gloriana tbh. Additional hullpoints, a good amount of extra dice if you get your P/S shooting right and a pretty good spot to put an additional generator such as shroud (that actually stacks with the improved guardian generators). Overall, I think it's pretty good for what you are getting for an extra 55p (50 if you swap out for the generator to shroud it) given that you still can get up to 30 dice from the lead guns through heavy firepower and royal engineer and then stack 6 extra dice (or 10 if you forgo the generator). Inspirational is also a big deal in a faction where Chaos & disarray is the only way to stop them from firing at full potential! It brings quite a bit more to the table if you ask me!
@@speeddemonpainting7050 I do not agree. This ship is not fun at all. The Shroud Generator looks like auto-include. She is very similar to Britannia, doesn't have a Reliable Design, and the Crown does not suffer from Disorder conditions as much as the others. Suffice to compare her to Kongo. I don't think that she would outperform Kongo in any way, that costs 265. And I would rather have +1/1 to Citadel than lousy +1/1 Hull.
@@LorrusGrymn the Kongo can get to a max of 27 dice in their gunnery pool, this one to 36... It would also not be protected by guardian generators and would lack the front ram... I would personally gladly pay 20% more for a ship that has 33% more firepower in ideal range and better survivability to boot...
@@speeddemonpainting7050 Kongo has Focused Gunnery. I think that blank rerolls are better than 3 extra dice, That ram with M4 S4 will do much good. And she has to crawl up to that Ideal range. Kongo is slightly faster and has Shadow Hunter, which may be handy for positioning.
Awaits for Commonwelth :) U'r doing good job mate

Yaaay I don't have to read the whole damn thing! Thanks Speeddemon

Something else I only just noticed and I'm not sure if it's intended: the Quintilian lost Spotter?? 😢
Ah it's fixed!

@@LorrusGrymn focussed gunnery is not per weapon. That would put the Kongo at 29 dice btw, still 7 short of what a Gloriana can do.
