The fact that the guy who posted this literally offered to send a MP3 file over TH-cam private message just amazes me and makes me feel nostalgic at the same time
I'm glad someone uploaded this so I don't have to. Easily one of my favorite of their recordings. Thom's vocal performance is amazing. I always get goosebumps when his voice first comes in.
This version is better than that of study. The atmosphere that emits the painting and the song created an indescribable atmosphere. Everything fits perfectly
wow.. how do they perfome a song like this live and make it sound like... better than perfect? i never thought they could outmatch the studio version, which already is godly piece of music. and Thom's voice is frigging awesome here, especially at the end ^^
Long back I was ODing on this song and also happened to see Paranormal Activity at the same time. Everything fitted so well that is was more than scary!
For some reason, this song reminds me of 'The Lord of The Flies', by William Golding! Great book! And great song! It's haunting as hell but it's definitely one of my favourites!
I am the key to the lock in your house That keeps your toys in the basement And if you get too far inside You'll only see my reflection I am the face as she sleeps tonight I am the pick in the ice Do not cry out or hit the alarm You know we're friends 'til we die And either way you turn I'll be there Open up your skull I'll be there Climbing up the walls It's always best when the light is off It's always better on the outside Fifteen blows to the back of your head Fifteen blows to your mind So lock the kids up safe tonight Shut the eyes in the cupboard I've got the smell of a local man Who's got the loneliest feeling That either way he turns I'll be there Open up your skull I'll be there Climbing up the walls Climbing up the walls
in the live versions thom occasionally sings "i am the face as she sleeps tonight" but on the album version its "its always best when the light is off/covers up" not sure exactly of the correct lyric, but he does have 2 different lyrics he uses he must of thought of that lyric after he recorded it =p
i thumbed you back up to even, b/c i'm guessing you meant "killin it" as in "he's doing an incredibkle job." it's hard to tell with slang these days...
@lasrarities yes, thom is playing the acoustic guitar, but colin is playing the keyboard (distortioned bass sound), Johnny is playing the electric guitar with a violin bow, as his favorite guitarist, jimmy page did. he also plays Onde Martenot at the end, at a very high tone. and Ed plays guitar (clean and distortioned), most of the time, plays his guitar on the other side of the guitar nut, and it gives the "ting" sound (more likely at the begining, when thom starts singing...).
@theleo2004 Might I humbly submit an extension of the most epic moment ever? While I totally agree with you, I really gotta say the most epic moment ever really isn't the most epic without the scream at 4:02...
This is like Climbing Up The Walls gone nuclear. Such a great live performance.
the electric bass on this song is terrifying and amazing at the same time
This song never fails to destroy me - this recording is especially eviscerating. Munch would approve.
that's the BEST CUTW performance I've ever heard. Played with full volume is just... unexplainable
this is the best version. they usually take it too fast when its live, like at glastonbury 03. but this is the best speed.
love it
I love the feeling of insanity in this versions vocals. Chilling
I won't get tired to repeat this: *THIS SONG IS A FUCKING MASTERPIECE* ohhhhh i love it
Why am I just now hearing this version.
this is one of radioheads best songs, maybe their most unique too
please dont listen to this with noise cancelling headphones in the dark thank you
Definitely doing that imo
Oops
I just did
Imagine this beeing played at your funeral, would freak everyone the fuck out
Beggbies gonna get you you're so correct am performing this song this year I love radiohead lol great song always

My god that's a good copy, i love how claustrophobic it makes me feel, full of foreboding tension
A slow, brooding build to an overwhelming sonic explosion. And all of it is great. First time I've heard this live version. Thanks for sharing it.
This is even better than the studio version.
I'm glad someone uploaded this so I don't have to. Easily one of my favorite of their recordings. Thom's vocal performance is amazing. I always get goosebumps when his voice first comes in.
4 minutes and 29 seconds of pure chills... And then the ten seconds after it ends where you just feel empty.
This version is better than that of study. The atmosphere that emits the painting and the song created an indescribable atmosphere. Everything fits perfectly
+Ricardo Çocoletzi Keep calm and listen Climbing up the walls everywhere. ;)
+Ricardo Çocoletzi Tanto Te Gusta Esta Canción Que Hasta Publicas En La Misma? No Mames Mario Jajajajajajajaja (Soy Lalo :3)

wow.. how do they perfome a song like this live and make it sound like... better than perfect? i never thought they could outmatch the studio version, which already is godly piece of music.

Dear god when, where was this
Fabiocchi
you
are
my
hero
I am the key to the lock in your house
That keeps your toys in the basement
And if you get too far inside
You'll only see my reflection
I am the face as she sleeps tonight
I am the pick in the ice
Do not cry out or hit the alarm
You know we're friends 'til we die
And either way you turn
I'll be there
Open up your skull
I'll be there
Climbing up the walls
It's always best when the light is off
It's always better on the outside
Fifteen blows to the back of your head
Fifteen blows to your mind
So lock the kids up safe tonight
Shut the eyes in the cupboard
I've got the smell of a local man
Who's got the loneliest feeling
That either way he turns
I'll be there
Open up your skull
I'll be there
Climbing up the walls
Climbing up the walls
This is the best performance from this song ahhhh its so good
Man it’s like a monster, it just slowly creeps up on you until it’s too late
I need that audio in higher quality.
ah the famous scream picture with Radioheads Climbing up the walls, Good Idea fabiocchi!!!
THIS IS HOW ROCK AND ROLL GET PLAYD, RADIOHEAD PLAYS THIS SONG LIKE SHIT ANYMORE....THIS IS HOWWWWW
I don't quite agree with some people that this is better than the album version, but its certainly orgasmic.
thanks for this, fabiocchi
YOU ONLY SEE MY REFLECTION.
Holy shit.
4 people are stuck at the foot of the wall.
Awsome version!!!
Phenominal Song!! Great version too!
I not only love this famous painting, but also the "scream" at the end of the song.
7 People approve only of Disney music
312 figure out there's more to life than just keeping one's head full of air.
satisfying.
The best fuckin version
the scream
its an Ondes Martenot its a keyboard but in front of the keys there is a string with a ring on it and you can pull the ring from side to side.
Oh Bro... I've been listening this version all my life, thinking this is The studio recording.
Woah... I prefer this than The Ok Computer version.
Good job!!
@AtomsForPeace92 i thought it was smile, which just makes it even creepier
in the live versions thom occasionally sings "i am the face as she sleeps tonight"

Radiohead le agregó expresión a "el grito".

No video? Thanks for the upload though! Was this a recent performance?

Joël Duplessis Jonny is actually running a military grade radio through his guitar rig, and distorting it with delay and shit and whammy and stuff

D E P R E S S I O N
Wow really?! That's crazy!
Does anyone know when this was recorded? I'm guessing around the OK Computer days, like 97 or 98, or is it more recent? Just curious.
Live From BBC Radio 1's Evening Sessions, 6/9/1997
sweep echo effect
@russianpickaxe want to scare the hell out of yourself? listen to this song
glastonbury 97 doesn't have nice audio but it's ever better
15 blows to the back off your head..15 blows till you die..so lock the kids up safe tonite.
What year was this?
I prefer the album version's vocals, drums are waaay better here. Other than that.
