It's only 5 dollar in my country..why not....no gacha no microtransaction ...it's a w game. It's offline with a complete story.. Mobile need this type of game so long...
Little more than 20hrs in, gameplay is a blast and the more linear nature of the game has actually encouraged me to check everything. The combat is so satisfying if only the story and especially the English translation could keep up. As long as they keep improving I can't help but want to support ventures like this.
As a matter of fact, I didn't get that bug thing when I faced "this boss". It's more like each pattern have 1-3 sec window to switch and parry and each of the ennemies hit stagger the damaged character, enabling switch. There is also fact that the character icon to switch feel a bit little for your phone's screen and your thumbs can miss the icone (they really should add an option to modify layout as we wish). Also, I totally agreed the text going to fast to read and process sometime, even in tutorial (even if consider myself as a big reader) But I'd say this was a worth ride for only 10$ because the gameplay was fun, the story was interesting enough and the scenery was just beautiful
I wasn't missing the button. An animation as if the character was attempting to parry instead of switching to actually parry would happen. That's definitely not part of the games function because there's nothing for the other two to parry if you didn't switch to them. Right? If I missed the icon, nothing should happen at all.
@@Cha0tikXGryphline I just re-played it just now and I didn't see any bug. Parched already. (maybe) The only explanation, I can think of is that you imput the buttons in the wrong order when you want to go very fast. Also, I can't rewatch the VOD of your playthrough on the boss RN (if you can give me the link and the time stamp, I'll see later)
The two tips I can give for people who want to play. Combat mechanics such as combo system and hit type needs some getting used to. Open the oracle log book often as a lot of the world view and important lore is only explained inside there. Without these two commitments, the story and combat seem bad and unbearable. Otherwise overcoming the learning curve made it one of my favorite combat system and I dearly enjoyed it. Super fun and engaging! Personally I give it a 7 / 10 because I love the combat, and only appreciated the story after my second play through. And maybe a 5 / 10 for generic mobile gaming audience due to the poor presentation of tutorial guidance, and fragmented story structure. One has to put in effort to learn mechanics and open the oracle log to appreciate the narration.
I get it when people want PC client, but When it comes to Ex Astris what's the first impression ? Yes it's the " Premium mobile game", it's unusual nowadays. That's what people are mostly surprised, not the graphics or gameplay. They can release PC client later, it's a full game no disadvantage if you buy it later. They need to balance the world building and story, story is the weakest.
The double review scores nice. Yea i finished the game in probably around 25 hrs and dont regret a thing this game was fun and id say I love the story especially from the end of chapter 1 onwards. The ending was amazing and really cool imo. The combo combat though is so good and rewarding. Great review imo and lets all look forward to what Gryphline has in store in the future. P.S: its good that they are still looking to update the game with fixes so maybe a couple of these issues will be hammered out
Thank you so much for the great review. I just heard about the game today and was trying to find some information on it, but the other videos I came across didn't seem helpful. I appreciate you giving both praise and critique to the game. I think I'll be picking it up!
Just beat the game. Had a lot of fun. Thankfully, I didn't experience any of those bugs you mentioned on my Samsung Galaxy S22+, but yeah the fast text was quite strange at times. I'm curious in what direction they're going to take the DLC's.
@@AylaKilse I haven't heard anything yet. I only heard that they said they would like to, but that was before the game released. We'll just have to wait and see.
I have played lots of turn based game, and this one has the best combat system. The only issue i have is the delay window between switching dodge and parry, some boss attack pattern just outright impossible to parry or dodge in time (u might be able to if u know whats coming, impossible first try though). Also, some framedrop, probably because i use iphone 13. But i put everything on average solution and 30 fps. Not a big issue however. Other than that, worth $10, or even more.
not a fan of the "combo" system but i wish the game all successfull because we need more games like this in the android market, because phones gets more powerfull each year, just need the right games to test it out
I also reccomend this to someone who has the budget to try new RPG game and like exploration. I feel like the game was rushed with no EN voice over, confusing UI, and even rushed tutorials which might confuse casual players. But I guess that 9.99 USD is very worth it with the world experience alone.
ngl i felt like compared to other games i play i could easily play the game with max graphics with medium amount of lag where if i play starrail or genshin on same device with lowest graphics it is much worse.
An incredible experience and a beautiful story, excellent game. The people are making see the story so much complicated that what really is, is just human filosofy, simple, but if you don't read between lines you're gonna think it is confusing for sure, and being horrible translated doesn't help (glad I understand japanese) But well, for 10$ better than 70$ games nowadays ;b In the wait for future updates/DLCs for Ex Astris :'3
@@VyanTan Yeah nowadays some games cost 70$ (mainly the first party) regardless from what hardware are Nintendo/Xbox/PlayStation. Look at Call of Duty charging 70$ for a DLC and not a full game, they even charge you 100$ for the "Ultimate Edition" :'b

Just buyed the game and played like 5 hours+, they did good job optimizing the game, but still the story is confusing even after i did read the story also do the all the side mission, still an interesting game so 7.5/10
Well, I want an apology from you sir. You just mad me spend 9 dollars on this game. Not that I have even booted the game at all yet, you just made me spend money :P STOP MAKING ME SPEND MONEY XD
I've been slowly working through it. Just reached trade city. The combos don't make a lot of sense to me and aren't well explained imo. My biggest gripe so far is that I spent much of Chapter 2 building a certain character, and then they were taken away from me for awhile and I had no resources to build the character they gave me... battles went from being a lot of fun to ssssslllloooowwww again. Thankfully they give that character back shortly afterwards, because I still have no idea what I'm supposed to do with the healing-oriented one they forced on me (if you parry, you don't need healing...)
If you are still playing through the game, best thing to do is to read what each skill provides. Click on the bold keywords, you'll find there are a couple keywords that are essential to keep a combo going.
great review man, I played on emulator since I dont like to play on phones and the problems are pretty much the same. Frame rate drops, subtitles showing up too fast and disappearing or not showing up at all. Tutorials auto skip too fast, story is confusing because they didnt tell it rly well and you have to piece everything together later with the files+side quests and you dont have time to feel attached to the characters since they show up too abruptly or they dont have time to create bond with each other and with the player. Gameplay is truly fun and i enjoyed every second, characters are interesting, the world of allindo is simple yet beautiful and upgrade/skills systems are cool to mess with. I did not regret spending money on this game even if its quite salty in Brazil since our money isnt worth shit ~ I had a good time playing it and sharing with friends. My opnion is pretty much similar when it comes to be a lil bias because I like gryphline stuff but I will definitely not allow that to cloud my judgement as a strict reviewer. The scores you gave pretty much matches mine. Things they should improve on a next update or game: - Cinematics should be better worked, no rushed dialogues, better camera angles for impact etc.. - Better localization.. I srsly feel bad for those who do not understand either jp or chinese because the subtitles are awful and that kinda kills the mood of the story. - No auto skip dialogue - some graphics improvement, more character expressions and better lip sync. Doesnt need to be realistic lip sync but i dont wanna see characters not moving their mouths when they are speaking a whole 30 min kaltsit like thesis. - Can we have puzzles diversity? If I see boxes again I'll destroy them instead of placing in the correct spot XD....... LOL
I'm kind of interested in the story but I worry that the game's combat will wear me out. I think I will wait till next update so they can optimize and fix bug to make the game better
Bought the game, it looks so good, but immediately refunded because of a account requirement. Dont know if theres a around way without account creation, but am not gonna buy again just because of that workaround which i cannot refund at the second buy anymore... :( Game deserved on PC more instead being mobile exclusive Anyway, still great review.
Just like a Console, I have a USB C dock (one that has the power to charge while connected to HDMI) connected to an HDMI into a Capture Card. I don't need to do it that way because RedMagic has a casting app for PC via USB but I do it this way for high quality.
