So, given this, given that we learned this back in the Chunin Exams, it stands to reason that the same should be true of advanced 8 Gates techniques. The fact that it isn't, the fact that we're expected to think as simple as "chakra=nin/gen/jutsu, no chakra=taijutsu" is stupid. Otherwise, how would Sakura, Tsunade and 5 year old Itachi be able to break boulders were it NOT for chakra control? Either way, this aside, this fight should've been longer and harder than his fight against Killer Bee. I really admire Guy for pushing beyond his limits every time he fights Kisame. Originally, he only went as high as the 6th Gate during their first fight, using the Asakujako, and in this fight, he went as far as opening the 7th Gate and used the Hirudora. Under any other circumstances, I would say Guy is insane, but because the situation called for it, I really admire him for going as far as he did, and the outcome went exactly as he had hoped.
Can we honestly all just appreciate how well Kirk Thornton voices Kisame. His other very well known character that he voices is Shadow the Hedgehog, but he honestly does many more voices in other animes and video games. Very underrated in my opinion.

kisame is one of the most powerful member of the akatsuki with huge amount of chakra and his abilities were underrated as well. Anyone would have a hard time to beat him unless you can genjutsu against him like itachi but any ninjutsu won’t work because he absorbs your ninjutsu attacks with samehada. Even without samehada his supershark jutsu also eats chakra but unfortunately he was matched against a beast who has power thats not chakra based. Might Guy is kisame’s kryptonite
I like how Kishimoto hyped up Guy’s hirudora by making it seem like Kisames attack had the upper hand being a high class ninjutsu, only for guys attack to completely obliterate it because it’s taijutsu and completely bypassing the effect of his ninjutsu. I've actually developed the theory that Guy and Lee can't really use their chakra outside their body. So they can't use genjutsu but can get themselves out of it because the release is about their own body. Likewise Guy can't form any ninjutsu, but he can utilize the chakra in his blood, to summon because of the way the sealing/ summoning jutsu works, and because they can use the chakra in their blood to activate the summon. But that's just my theory.

kisame is one of the most powerful member of the akatsuki with huge amount of chakra and his abilities were underrated as well. Anyone would have a hard time to beat him unless you can genjutsu against him like itachi but any ninjutsu won’t work because he absorbs your ninjutsu attacks with samehada. Even without samehada his supershark jutsu also eats chakra but unfortunately he was matched against a beast who has power thats not chakra based. Might Guy is kisame’s kryptonite
I like how Kishimoto hyped up Guy’s hirudora by making it seem like Kisames attack had the upper hand being a high class ninjutsu, only for guys attack to completely obliterate it because it’s taijutsu and completely bypassing the effect of his ninjutsu.

I've actually developed the theory that Guy and Lee can't really use their chakra outside their body. So they can't use genjutsu but can get themselves out of it because the release is about their own body. Likewise Guy can't form any ninjutsu, but he can utilize the chakra in his blood, to summon because of the way the sealing/ summoning jutsu works, and because they can use the chakra in their blood to activate the summon.
But that's just my theory.
