Arlen and Mercer wrote 'Come Rain or Come Shine' in 1946, for their musical 'St. Louis Woman'. Initially only a moderate hit, it later became very popular, being recorded by Billie Holiday, Judy Garland, Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, and many others.
