My first experience of completing this exercise was quite straightforward, but nonetheless powerful. The cups appeared as golden grail-like chalices, with simple decorative markings around the rim. But these cups were much smaller than the chalice-like object on most tarot cards, and easier to “grasp” in the hand. When I asked the questions about my relationship with the person opposite me, the answers were to simply be more generous, listen more, and that there were no unresolved emotional issues, other than a benefit in practicing more of these two things. I filled the cup with liquid symbolising open and free-flowing communication. It looked like a fizzy, blue soft drink. The colour blue was interesting as this is also the colour of the throat chakra. Its effervescence is also symbolic of the kind of communication I value in close relationships. When I handed the cup filled with the blue liquid back to my companion, their response was one of pure gratitude and joy, as if I had gifted them something precious. This positive response affirmed to me that I'm on the right track, that open and vibrant communication truly is a valuable offering in our relationship. What came up for you during your experience with the Two of Cups? What insights did you uncover?
