It is cool to see a ladies outfit that has typical suit style traits but in feminine proportions. It looks very professional yet flattering and not overtly sexualized like most pant suits for women.
As a woman tired of futile attempts to find anything to my taste off the rack, I turned to bespoke and never regretted it! Currently half of my everyday wardrobe is bespoke, not only with shirts and suits, but also neckties, pocket squares, trench coats and jackets. And I only want to go forward bespoke, as far as possible.
I know your channel primarily focuses on men's fashion, but it's great to see more women's content. Your video on Carmina women's shoes lead to my wife now owning two pairs of Carmina shoes. 😂🤑 Rachel has awesome style. Sonya Glyn is another one I follow.
Thank you Kirby for featuring bespoke tailoring for women. Beautiful suit and appreciate the special considerations entailed for female bespoke tailoring. On a side note, love Rachel's vintage style with respect to her makeup. Some of the gentlemen commenting might want to look at some of the classic films from the 1930;s-1950's, nearly every major female Hollywood star wore suits in films. Being well dressed is not a new concept for women.
Agreed, it is great to see. People need to think more about their comments especially for those that consider themselves gentlemen. If a person is not known well enough to you that all you can appreciate is their appearance, appropriateness should be considered. Base flattery from.strangers is rarely anything but uncouth, however it seems there are many who think anything intended as a compliment however thoughtless should be well received.
@@AFpaleoCon Your crass view is not surprising, coming from someone with a channel paying homage to Blackwater, who committed war crimes. Acknowledging you further is below my pay grade.
It's such a wonderful luxury to have a tailor who really knows their skill and what will suit you best and so many things one may never have thought of. That alone is worth paying for! Made well and taken care of, it'll last years.
An excuisite example of a bespoke woman's suit. It has such a wonderful cut, fit/proportions and drape. I keep coming back to this video demonstration several times a week for the sher joy of watching such craftsmanship. Would you mind making more videos in a similar vein to highlight various styles, solutions and artistery that will flatter the female form ?
Kirby, great to see this video about bespoke for women. Hope to see more of this in the future. I think there is a lot more to explore in the female bespoke world. Clothing, shoes, purses, jewelry... I'm already curious 🙂
I've been waiting a long time for a video from you on women's tailoring. Thank the Jensens and you for all of your very informative observations, demonstrations and opinions. Could you also post a video on women's suspenders as well?
I like how he pointed out, that it was not just "taking the stamp out of a male jacket and putting it onto a female form" Also, Eric, your wife is stunning!
she is beautiful and his work as always perfect. I would love to see his work for someone ....well not so petite. :) Major kudos to Kirby for driving the info on women's bespoke suits.
The fact that the tailor is arguing that men’s and women’s bespoke suits are same price is very refreshing and uplifting! When looking for wedding guest attire, the ridiculous cost of crappy Womens clothing, poorly stitched by a 4 year old out of man-made fiber vs. a high quality natural fiber mens suit, was mind boggling! Have been altering mens clothing to fit petite female form for years out of frustration of the poor quality of Women’s business apparel. Obviously, one needs to choose carefully to avoid looking like a cross-dresser( unless that is the look one is going for!), but proper tailoring can really feminize most articles to one’s taste. Men’s wool dress pants, tailored to “fit” a woman can be very flattering, have functional pockets, and last for years of hard wear vs fraying after a few months like the usual women’s trousers. It also is funny to argue the dry cleaning/ pressing bill, when one shows that the brand is a male suit/trouser/ shirt and therefore should be many, many, dollars less ! A few of the men’s styles actually look better on some women than most men! I have been searching for a bespoke tailor, but the ones recommended around here either don’t, or seem uncomfortable working with women. I am also looking for just a plain good tailor for altering 1950’s Harris tweed and other vintage clothing and haven’t found anyone in Midwest since my old tailor retired… Same shop, not same quality😢.
What a wonderful informative video! Thank you for making it! I was wondering what are the signs to look for in a tailor that will allow clients to know that this particular tailor can do a woman's suits well? (since I assume most tailors started out making men's suits). Also, how prepared should a client be? I imagine for women in particular, there must be so many styles of suits (is there a catalogue online somewhere?)
Thank you for talking about this! I have felt a little upset about the lack of real wool suiting for women and wish there were more tailors who made women's garments. When I pass my CPA exam, I'm getting a bespoke 2-piece suit for myself for sure!
First time I've seen a lady having a garment tailored. Cool. I think there's a long history of the English tailoring houses doing women's garments. Time for you to get your wife on the channel having something custom made for her Kirby.
The only experience with suits besides these videos was JROTC in high school (which wasn’t really a custom suit just off the rack fitment) and funerals(which the suit I have isn’t great at all). It’s amazing to see the detail in suits especially for women.
Could we see some more female centric episodes. I'd like to find better footwear and off the rack clothing for my wife. I've been able to locate a couple decent shoemakers such as "Carmina" and "The Office of Angela Scott", with quality goodyear welted women's shoes, but finding information on good quality women's wear is a real problem. My wife wants to be stylish, but cares zero about chasing the current fashion. For example, I know Ralph Lauren Purple Lable, and Polo make nice mens suits. How are their women's lines? I'm wearing mainly Canali, Samualsohn, Zegna, Hickey Freeman, etc... Good quality, but not crazy 100% handmade bespoke wear. Could you help shine a light on similar tier, better constructed women's brands?
For female off the rack suits I'd look into vintage Thierry Mugler (I have managed to buy haute couture suits for less than new off the rack, worn once - they are impeccably shaped and rather timeless in their retro futuristic styling ), St Johns is a career women staple, Oscar De La Renta and Alexander McQueen from designers. I really like Lena Hoeschek, Brandon Maxwell and recent The Frankie Shop line.
My wife is a professional dog handler with a closet full of St. John and similar outfits. They are nice but of course are not at this level. The trouble is that she needs to look fairly different in between win photos and on video. I would be very interested on how Rachel plans to mix it up. Shoes for sure, but are different blouse colors (and scarves) enough?
Great and informative. Now, I'd love to see how a master tailor would fit a transmasc person because of how they want to achieve a masculine silhouette on a feminine form without looking like a boy. You try to achieve wide shoulders, but then it's too boxy. If you try to nip it in at the waist you feel tight around the vents because of your butt and hips.
Plenty of English mills make great coloured fabric. Huntsman tweed? Huddersfield textiles is bateman ogden all have some very vivid fabrics. It's a myth the English don't do colour.
I love to see a woman In a nice beautiful peak lapel Double Breasted Suit , Blazer navy & black one with gold embossed buttons & the other with silver Embossed one s as well .

Yea I think theres such a shortage of female tailoring videos and shoemaking that this really stands out. Give us more
There's a certain grace to having the tailor's wife model the suits. This was a treat to watch.
Glad to see this content, as a career woman. Less so with some comments that show a complete lack of class.

Can’t men have male only spaces? Why do women always feel entitled to being a part of anything men have.

Women look better in dresses, not in suits. But to each their own.
Oh, what class does this woman have. Great video.
Seriously Kirby when I think he can't make a better video for us to watch, you do it again I must say best TH-cam channel by a country mile 🙏🏻

I just had to jump right to that part in the video with the overcoat. That overcoat is crazy good.
I think this is awesome. Great video. In times gone by women had alot of choices, this is a great step.

Really good stuff
More, Please! ❤ Would love to see options for British bespoke- lots of history there for Princess Anne and military and horsey styling, etc, etc…
Yes! I’m learning tailoring because I can never find what I want. I wear skirt suits but still plenty to learn from watching the fitting.
Gorgeous suit, perfect fit, lovely model. Thank you for women's bespoke info💕

I honestly can't unhear this now. Thanks.
suit looks dope on her, nice colors.
Will we be seeing Mrs Allison going through the bespoke process of shoes and garments?
She is stylish and pretty
Wow...she looks so classic 40's...love it 😍
Another great video, thank you sir.
The camel overcoat is a real work of art, I’m sure the suit will be just as impressive!

Mr. Jensen is a lucky man!!!!
Why do the trousers look darker than the jacket.
Forget the suit Rachel is beautiful.. lucky man.
What price point do his suits range?
Suits start at $4,900

Well that just looks right on this lady, would love to see the end result.
WhAt is the price?
The word ‘sartoria’ is pronounced with the accent on the ‘i’, like ‘gelateria’.
It's so interesting
Got a pants suit made in Thailand, it didn’t have this feel of elegance though

This could be a good sub-series. I know its a man's channel...but this still seems super appropriate
There is certainly a wealth of videos to be made, and lots of information to highlight. We will try to get more done soon. Glad you enjoyed it.
Bespoke tailor very good...she very beatiful model to 👍
Drink a shot of tequila everytime Kirby says "Bespoke".
Try every time you hear "Ya, no"
😂 the first three minutes of this video could’ve so easily included Rachel and have been way less strained and ostracizing to women listening
