People often use the feeble excuse of 'busy' seemingly performing dull mundane tasks instead of seeing what's out there etc. real shame. Everyone has time to do something creative they just need to really want to. It's ultimately up to you to improve your own life. Playing piano creating beauty is far better than watching trash TV for example.
Piano players don't attract people's attention. I have the same problem. After I've finished playing the piano or organ incredibly, no one even speaks to me, compliments me, come up to me etc.
As a professional musician, I will agree and say this: it is true by my observation that if you raise kids on processed food, they will come to expect it. The same may be said for what people are exposed to aurally. With the current state of mass marketed pop music (highly produced with little focus on artistic merit), it is like raising kids on frozen chicken nuggets and junk food. Their listening appreciation may be close to non-existent. Disappointing, yes. I would put it to you, perhaps, that a fabulous artist such as this, would have received greater reception from the general public 25-30 plus years ago. She is absolutely relevant; regrettably, a public consisting not of a desire for instant gratification but one not seeking constant shock and stimulation for entertainment would have shown greater appreciation of her presence and artistry!. Bravo! This was a spectacular and most musical performance!
I don't understand how no one in that place realizes that one of the best pianists in the world is playing for free. That talent is worth millions. People go down those escalators and don't even notice that Jimin is playing; It must be a mirror that does not allow viewing from the opposite side. They do not know what they lose; an excellent pianist.
It's because she's not singing and it depends on the music. No one cares to listen to a piano player play jazz or classical. I'm an advanced pianist myself and I have this problem too. No one cares how great I play. They always want to know if I can sing as well. Even Cory Henry and Jesus Molina had to incorporate singing with their piano performances to attract and retain their audiences attention.
@@sebastianchristopher9461 Maybe you're right, but I think high-level music doesn't need additional resources to be appreciated. If that were the case, excellent pianists like Hiromi Huehara, Chick Corea, Keiht Jarret, to name just a few of thousands, would have had to be singers before being pianists... That's not counting the world recognition that virtuosos like Yuja Guan, Lang Lang, Martha Argherich and many, they don't need to be singers to fill a theater... What I believe is that Jimmin loves this way of playing in malls, it is a stage that she lives and enjoys to the fullest. Surely we will soon have news about her future concerts in a higher level auditorium.
Quick experience I will never forget. I played jazz piano at one of the top hotels in Thailand many years ago. When I would rehearse playing the piano in one of the bars in the hotel, the bar employees paid me no mind. No reaction from them. But, ever time I sang and played, the employees in the hotel stopped what they were doing, listened to me sing and when I finished, they all applauded as if they were programmed. As if they valued the human singing voice over the musical instrument. That concept is universal. Far more wealthier and successful singers than pianists in the world. A great pianist has to be remarkable, have a market, have an image, have their own unique playing style, and great management.
@@sebastianchristopher9461 And precisely that is what it is about, reaching the extraordinary and unique level that allows the recognition of a great pianist on any stage. Either you are a great pianist or you are a great singer; You can't achieve both things at the same time. Of course, the context that Jimmin has chosen to express his talent does not favor him much, but if the setting were another, I am sure it would have more attention, for example a Cultural Theater. It may be that she chose it for some reason, but there is no doubt that she plays the piano well.
1. There are many great singers who are great pianists who have achieved fame and fortune. Nat King Cole, Harry Connick Jr., Brian McKnight, Jacob Collier are just a few. 2. You need more than extraordinary talent to make it in the music business. You need a good management team who can get you signed to a label deal. The record label is responsible for booking your tours, concerts and live shows at venues that cater to your audience/ fanbase 3. Despite releasing an independent album, Jimmin obviously isn't signed to a major label and is doing paid gigs wherever she can.
You are living my dream, lady. No matter how many people stopped or even just turned their heads - there is impact. However delayed. Keep rocking, Jimin.
been following you since 1500 subs and this is beautiful - definitely my favorite video you've posted. its like an npr concert edit: also what a gorgeous piano setup with the flowers
Hello JiminDorothy is it possible if you can transcribe the Hazel Scott version of Round Midnight? I would really like to purchase a copy if you do, thank you.

Gamsamida for the song index! 💕👍
I truly don’t understand how some people could just walk by and ignore this I would pay massive amounts of money just to go watch
It's amazing how uninterested so many on the escalator are. Very few are paying any attention at all to one of the finest pianists on the planet.

It would have been soy boys who can't sing, all women would have rushed.
I would've love to be there live!👏🎹👍😘
