Editor here: Mistake with Weighted Knife & Ember of Singeing. Weighted Knife DOES NOT Scorch, it just instantly ignites Scorched enemies. Because of this, Ember of Singeing is pointless so swap that out for something else. Also using these exotics with Void is also really good, you've got Weaken effects instead of Radiant, and can dip into Devour + Invis. We messed around with Void but it just felt too samey to other Hunter bow builds and thought that maximizing damage using just a dodge felt strong as well as different. Definitely go Void if you want more survivability.
May I add that since the knife doesn’t scorch, there’s not many options to change Singeing out for. You have Mercy for some survivability when reviving teammates, which can be extended with Empyrean. You also have Beams, which gives you better target aquisition for your super. Other than that, you basically have nothing. Why not just change your knife to Knife trick, so you can not only make yourself radiant, but any scorching fragment works, so singeing is back on the table. Throw on focusing strike on your arms, and you’ll have your dodge back very fast. I’d personally use gamblers to refresh the melee for more radiant on demand. But ofc, if your weighted knife can hit headshots every time, then that will obviously be better to keep both dodge and knife up at all times for 100% radiant uptime. You’re just limited to the fragments you can use.
Give it a go with stasis. With the fragment that boosts primary weapon damage against frozen targets by 50% Throw duskfield, charge oathkeepers while a high health target freezes, boom 50% damage on the 150% oathkeepers buff

I honestly think this build would go crazy on Stasis. A stasis build doesn’t really have a good exotic for hunter, renewal is not needed, and since Wish Ender is a kinetic weapon, the fragment that boosts kinetic weapons damage by 50% against stasis crystals or frozen combatants, should stack with Oathkeepers, allowing you to get a MASSIVE buff against a high health frozen target
that fragment was long ago changed to be all primary weapons do extra damage. Doesn't have to be kinetic. I've tried this idea with verglas curve, its neat but nothing that amazing and oathkeeper doesn't seem to buff the crystals made by the bow either

What's the point of acrobats dodge if you're using torches and knock em down anyway? Just use the fan of knives and gamblers dodge you'll have more uptime on radiant + restoration and knock em down because you can dodge more frequently.
I think this works so much better with a void build. There's never a situation where you aren't already one shoting most red bars, or if you aren't, it's a two shot anyways. Maximizing the damage can be fun but the up time you can get with devour/weaken grenades makes this so much better. In addition to going invisible in-between shots after killing void debuffed targets. I recommend giving it a shot.
I went through the LF campaign legendary with a build very similar to what you say it was easy easy it was my main build last season got over 15k with the bow alone after never using it
I have been testing oathkeepers with various subclasses, void is great solar is good to, have not tried a stasis build with fragment of rending plus kinetic surges on top of oathkeepers I am thinking it will be pretty nasty.....also with the right mods and fragments getting very high duskfeilds is pretty easy, keep everything frozen nearly all the time then pick them off

The weighted throwing knife doesn't cause scorch?? 10:54 it just causes already scorched targets to ignite if you them with it. so if you're not using a gun to cause scorch, that's a wasted fragment slot. Or did i miss something?
Or lower the damage buff a bit, BUT apply the damage increase to all damage from the bow (including things like Wish Ender's broadhead damage numbers and Trinity Ghoul's lightning).
I’ve been trying so desperately to make a build around this that isn’t solar because I’ve been waiting for five years for oathkeepers to be good in PvE, or good at all.
Solar will always be the best subclass for Kinetic weapons, since they just give you a lot of flat weapon DMG vs the other classes wanting to synergize with their subclass type for verbs (Solar does too, but it also just buffs your shit regardless of weapon element).
Ember of Singeing does nothing for this build just so you know. Weighted Throwing Knife doesn't scorch, it only ignites prescorched targets. Ember of Tempering helps more since you're already getting solar weapon final blows to proc Ember of Empyrean.
Okay let me re-write this to further define what I found. With Ticcu, and Legendary Adaptive Bows... a full charge bracer buffed shot is 29k. IF you are going to use Ticcu... you have to be FRAME PERFECT to keep the Causality buff going. I missed my crit on the first stack, but I was able to see the buff on a body shot go from 17k to 20k. So it does work, however it is FRAME PERFECT because if you don't release the second that bar is filled, Causality falls off. Which does kinda suck but oh well. With Whistlers Whim, the Trials bow... a buffed arrow does 22k. It is a lightweight... BUT Kill Clip does stay active long enough to get a buffed shot off. Which does 28k... not super great honestly. But keep that in mind if we get more Kill Clip bows... With our favorite poison bow... it crits fully buffed at 31k. That is NOT including the 8 poison damage ticks... I was getting up to 1.2 per tick... which is 40,600 damage... That is... a lot of damage from just Le Monarque...
Anybody know if Oath is bugged with Levi? I was using it in the dungeon the other night, and my body shots when they were equipped were the same as crits without them, but my crits were much less. Not sure if I was just mistaken or if there’s a bug I didn’t know about
Just so everyone knows this currently doesn't work with leviathans breath due to a bug, so when they fix it leviathans breath will be THE hardest hitting per shot weapon in the entire game

Build is pretty unoptimized. I'd suggest using the triple fan throwing knives since its way more forgiving than Weighted Knife and you can scorch multiple targets with it, use a combo of fragments that allow you to get class energy upon scorching & make you radiant upon powered melee hits, and also use the melee dodge instead so you can always loop your melee/class abilities. The radiant dodge is fine but you can proc radiant way more often using the powered melee ability. I do a similar thing with my Young Ahamkara's Spine build & it feels like tossing loose change with the ability spam, very fun :D
It just sucks so much that it doesn’t work with the exotic bows at all. Really disappointed in the rework honestly, since most of the time charging up the buff is basically a net loss in terms of damage. Just put a cool down on the damage buff if you’re worried about it being too strong Bungie
2:58 Not to be confused with maintaining the damage buff "indefinitely", only the perfect draw. You'll lose the damage if you choose to hold it "indefinitely".
Trying new stuff is always nice but I don't really see why any hunter would try and run this, oathkeeper feels like more of a hindrance since the best bows are all exotic and it doesn't work with any of their effects. I hope you check out the new hunter exotic Triton Vice and get something going with that, I've been using it with stasis and winterbite for fun.
@OTFmax unfortunately Leviathan's Breath doesn't get the damage buff. I don't see why, a 150% damage buff that over doubles the draw time isn't super unbalanced.
You need to get out more my guy. Such a trash exotic. It's only purpose is as a set of training wheels for new lights getting used to bows. 😂 Nothing wrong with a noob tool, but trying to claim anything other than that is just not simply misleading, it's a lie.
Just want to say I really appreciate your stance on Oathkeepers. So many people are writing it off because it doesn't give a DPS increase. Oathkeepers has always been about that ease of use/flexibility and the way the buff works leans into that. I'd love to see an exotic that makes some bows a legit boss DPS option or changes gameplay for legendary bows. But I don't think making oathkeepers into that was the right direction and I'm glad they didn't.
They should reverse the time for oathkeepers so that instead of waiting for damage bonus, the longer you wait the less bonus you get. So at perfect draw you get the full 150 and then over those 3 seconds it drops
I don't think an exotic that reward you for not playing the game correctly is a good exotic. Basically you played bow enough to fire perfect shots everytime (which is not that hard), Oathkeeper is litterally doing nothing.
@@mongrelshadow14 well in their current state I can't find much reason to use them as if you're good with bows you'll always hit a perfect draw and get max DPS. My idea makes them better in DPS while still having some bonus to holding onto shots for a small window of time
I took this build, changed the kinetic mods for solar, and im running ticuu's divination and its honestly pretty freakin nasty. Also swap weighted throwing knife for Knife trick for Sorch.
Oof, good question 🤔. I wouldn't think so. The extra damage from Wish Ender doesn't stack also, just the main arrow, so the chain lighting probably doesn't. But I'm def curious
This build makes Hierarchy of Needs into an absolute monster with its exotic trait. Solar surge + Oathkeeper bonus damage means the Warmind tracking damage buff goes stupidly hard
How does it work with the caty for Hierarchy with Oathkeepers? I feel like they'd work against one another by spamming arrows with the catalyst with Hierarchy and holding arrows with Oath but I'll have to give it a try to see for myself but if you know how I should use it please let me know!
@truenofrominitiald1857 the Catalyst kinda counteracts oathkeepers, which is a bit disappointing. Something I've been Interested is testing Le Monarch and Leviathan's Breath with Oathkeepers
I love bows and honestly, oathkeepers is a letdown. Oathkeepers need a rework, and my brains a storming. Two fantasies of what i would like to see from a reworked Oath keeper. 1) On perfect draws, precision hits grant a damage bonus duration to precision hits. Scales up to x times, refreshes on perfect draw hit precision hits. The buff increases bow drawtime by a small amount. 2) Decreases bow drawtime by a decent amount. Perfect draws/precision hits grant a stack of Guardians Oath. Max Guardians Oath grants the next arrow shot to apply subclass verb after consecutive perfect draws/precision hits. I.E.(Void= Weaken, Solar= Guardian Radiant, Arc= Blind and Guardian Amplify, Strand= Sever and Unravel. Stasis=Slow and Guardian overshield)
I lovr Oathkeeper, I love Wish Ender... but ironically I feel like these two don't work as well anymore with the buff not fully applying. I'd want to see this with other exotic bows.
Le monarque withering blade used to be able to bodyshot + melee 1 shot someone in PvP. From any distance on the map. With oath keepers it was a really good felwinters counter. And 120 hc counter. 2 chaos reach would scale better than 3 revenant shatterdives. But then they shadow nerfed le monarques in air accuracy 2 years before anyone knew about in air accuracy stat. And shadow nerf. I probably jump sniped a bungie employee cross map with charged with light. Yea 2 chaos reach + le monarque 1 shots was pretty fun. = 4 1 shots a round and 2 or more free kills. From chaos It’s funny everyone thought shatter dive felwinters 120hc was the meta but, they just suck at build crafting. Talk about feeling on top of the world, literally beating everyone in high elo. Cause they bad at the game. Oh yea I was using smgs before everyone else. I can keep going, bring back old stasis
I dunno, man. I feel like if they just wanted it to be a utility thing - i.e. it's not about an absolute damage buff, but about the way in which the damage is delivered - then the DPS should have been identical, not less. Take your solar build as an example. You're giving up something like Young Ahamkhara to do LESS damage with wish ender if you hold for the full damage buff. One can pretty much throw tripmines constantly with YA, get ignitions all over the place, get healing on nade kills etc. And now gunpowder gamble gives you two fragment slots, you can run YA builds with that and just be throwing out explosions, causing ignitions left and right. The nice thing about YA is that it doesn't need a kill. You can spam grenades at majors and champs and ignite them constantly. I just don't think oathkeepers is worth it compared with other builds on offer. I'm not sure i'd think it was worth it even if the damage over time were the same, given how potent some other exotics are. I'm not saying there isn't ANY utility to them, but it feels marginal to me as a hunter main. I'm having more fun with RMDs at the moment - infinite strand melee! Sever everything, powerful attraction giving you woven mail, mods for healing on orb pick up. I suspect it won't survive ultimate end game content, but it is fine up to and including legend lost sectors! And it's a LOT of stupid fun. And whilst it isn't new, lucky pants is stupid good at the moment.
Bungie!!!! Just make the oathkeeper full buff charge speed 2 seconds please, would take this from being one of the worst exotics to one of the best, and there are still plenty that would outshine it!!!! Make it good please!!!!
The problem I have with the Oathkeeper's thang is you're holding your bow charge waiting for the bar to fill while aiming at some mob's head, someone on your fireteam kills the mob and your patience has been wasted. It happened time and time again when I was in groups and eventually I ditched Oathkeepers. Most groups are fast paced, they're not static waiting for you to fill your progress bar to pull off that maximum buffed shot so for the most part I don't see the point of them in PVE.
This is definitely a great build and way for someone to get used to the bow playstyle as it gives extra damage and is far more forgiving with the unlimited draw. Most bow mains have a hard time with this exotic as it doesn't offer much once you get used to using a bow and takes up your exotic armor slot. sweet build all the same tho!
It’s so frustrating because this was Bungie’s chance to change that, but they just didn’t. As it stands it just minimally improves on a set of training wheels people weren’t planning on using for that long to begin with.

Funny enough I found this build accidentally since I had recently gotten oath keeper and since I knew wish ender has sight I combined the exotics for a pretty decent PvP build but of course not using same mods and such
Ngl we need levaithan to work with this it makes no sense that it doesn't and the slow down you would undertake to have the damage buff would pretty much cap DPS and makes the archer tempo catalyst useless so it would be balanced.

Mistake - You were not charging wishender all the way during the side to side comparison . Perfect draw is when the hilt of the sword glows and you hear an audio que. Not when the handle glows
I think this will be great for leviathans breath in the new dungeon for the last boss, cause that bitch teleports, dodges, dips, dives, ducks and dodges like she was going up against white goodman
Hi everyone, i just tried this build with a stasic build and it kinda rocks. btw i just saw a fragment i dont have that increase your kinetic damages when slow or iced
not sure if its bugged or capped but i tried running oathkeepers with leviathans breath and there wasnt any differance in damage between the 2 and 4 segments for the oathkeeper buff..if its a cap then it might not be necessary to wait 2sec every time time get to the full 4 segments on the bar
The oath keepers glow when they are fully drawn, that glow needs to fade over the three seconds and then flash at the very end as a visual que. Mentally counting off the seconds sucks.

If you think that’s good I have a theory why kinetic mods boost the supers dmg. And it’s because both guns are modeled after last word and hawkmoon. Both being kinetic weapons one being the best gunslinger weapon and the other being more powerful with precision hits and a SINGLE op Paracausal shot. 😂
Just use them with Acrius and a shotgun that can roll repulsor and if you want to run them with any subclass then get destabilising rounds on the shotgun too. Its honestly a stupid easy build.
I have a stasis Wish-ender build with Oathkeeper prebuff (for fashion reasons more than anything). Took advantage of Rending to buff Wish-ender and I always had a disruption break energy weapon in my pocket to absolutely SCHMELTED any shielded enemies. Break shield, Duskfield, pop them in the head when frozen.

Thanks for the testing on max draw dps vs perfect draw dps. Oathkeepers could use a bit more of a damage buff in pve than they gave it.

You were probably seeing the damage from the volatile proc, which is usually a little higher than the bow shot itself
Oath doesn't buff levi. All you're getting is a slightly faster draw time and thats it.

Y’know I think the reason Kinetic surge boosts Golden Gun is because it technically is coded to swap your active weapon to Last Word, which is Kinetic

It just sucks so much that it doesn’t work with the exotic bows at all. Really disappointed in the rework honestly, since most of the time charging up the buff is basically a net loss in terms of damage. Just put a cool down on the damage buff if you’re worried about it being too strong Bungie
2:58 Not to be confused with maintaining the damage buff "indefinitely", only the perfect draw. You'll lose the damage if you choose to hold it "indefinitely".
Trying new stuff is always nice but I don't really see why any hunter would try and run this, oathkeeper feels like more of a hindrance since the best bows are all exotic and it doesn't work with any of their effects. I hope you check out the new hunter exotic Triton Vice and get something going with that, I've been using it with stasis and winterbite for fun.

@OTFmax unfortunately Leviathan's Breath doesn't get the damage buff. I don't see why, a 150% damage buff that over doubles the draw time isn't super unbalanced.

Just want to say I really appreciate your stance on Oathkeepers. So many people are writing it off because it doesn't give a DPS increase. Oathkeepers has always been about that ease of use/flexibility and the way the buff works leans into that. I'd love to see an exotic that makes some bows a legit boss DPS option or changes gameplay for legendary bows. But I don't think making oathkeepers into that was the right direction and I'm glad they didn't.
They should reverse the time for oathkeepers so that instead of waiting for damage bonus, the longer you wait the less bonus you get. So at perfect draw you get the full 150 and then over those 3 seconds it drops
I don't think an exotic that reward you for not playing the game correctly is a good exotic. Basically you played bow enough to fire perfect shots everytime (which is not that hard), Oathkeeper is litterally doing nothing.

I used to use Oathkeepers and Wishender and Valakadyn 720 auto in PvP and did just fine. Wall hacks ftw.
@@mongrelshadow14 well in their current state I can't find much reason to use them as if you're good with bows you'll always hit a perfect draw and get max DPS. My idea makes them better in DPS while still having some bonus to holding onto shots for a small window of time
I took this build, changed the kinetic mods for solar, and im running ticuu's divination and its honestly pretty freakin nasty. Also swap weighted throwing knife for Knife trick for Sorch.
This and the new raid bow smack together in pvp

This build makes Hierarchy of Needs into an absolute monster with its exotic trait. Solar surge + Oathkeeper bonus damage means the Warmind tracking damage buff goes stupidly hard
How does it work with the caty for Hierarchy with Oathkeepers? I feel like they'd work against one another by spamming arrows with the catalyst with Hierarchy and holding arrows with Oath but I'll have to give it a try to see for myself but if you know how I should use it please let me know!
@truenofrominitiald1857 the Catalyst kinda counteracts oathkeepers, which is a bit disappointing. Something I've been Interested is testing Le Monarch and Leviathan's Breath with Oathkeepers
So in summary. Oathkeepers and Wish Ender turns you into a Welsh bowmen.
I love bows and honestly, oathkeepers is a letdown. Oathkeepers need a rework, and my brains a storming. Two fantasies of what i would like to see from a reworked Oath keeper.
1) On perfect draws, precision hits grant a damage bonus duration to precision hits. Scales up to x times, refreshes on perfect draw hit precision hits. The buff increases bow drawtime by a small amount.
2) Decreases bow drawtime by a decent amount. Perfect draws/precision hits grant a stack of Guardians Oath. Max Guardians Oath grants the next arrow shot to apply subclass verb after consecutive perfect draws/precision hits.
I.E.(Void= Weaken, Solar= Guardian Radiant, Arc= Blind and Guardian Amplify, Strand= Sever and Unravel. Stasis=Slow and Guardian overshield)

Le monarque withering blade used to be able to bodyshot + melee 1 shot someone in PvP. From any distance on the map. With oath keepers it was a really good felwinters counter. And 120 hc counter. 2 chaos reach would scale better than 3 revenant shatterdives. But then they shadow nerfed le monarques in air accuracy 2 years before anyone knew about in air accuracy stat. And shadow nerf. I probably jump sniped a bungie employee cross map with charged with light.
Yea 2 chaos reach + le monarque 1 shots was pretty fun. = 4 1 shots a round and 2 or more free kills. From chaos

Oathkeeper slows your ttk your better off just shooting normally. If oathkeeper started to charge as you draw the bow it would be worth using.

I dunno, man. I feel like if they just wanted it to be a utility thing - i.e. it's not about an absolute damage buff, but about the way in which the damage is delivered - then the DPS should have been identical, not less. Take your solar build as an example. You're giving up something like Young Ahamkhara to do LESS damage with wish ender if you hold for the full damage buff. One can pretty much throw tripmines constantly with YA, get ignitions all over the place, get healing on nade kills etc. And now gunpowder gamble gives you two fragment slots, you can run YA builds with that and just be throwing out explosions, causing ignitions left and right. The nice thing about YA is that it doesn't need a kill. You can spam grenades at majors and champs and ignite them constantly. I just don't think oathkeepers is worth it compared with other builds on offer. I'm not sure i'd think it was worth it even if the damage over time were the same, given how potent some other exotics are. I'm not saying there isn't ANY utility to them, but it feels marginal to me as a hunter main. I'm having more fun with RMDs at the moment - infinite strand melee! Sever everything, powerful attraction giving you woven mail, mods for healing on orb pick up. I suspect it won't survive ultimate end game content, but it is fine up to and including legend lost sectors! And it's a LOT of stupid fun. And whilst it isn't new, lucky pants is stupid good at the moment.
Bungie!!!! Just make the oathkeeper full buff charge speed 2 seconds please, would take this from being one of the worst exotics to one of the best, and there are still plenty that would outshine it!!!! Make it good please!!!!
The problem I have with the Oathkeeper's thang is you're holding your bow charge waiting for the bar to fill while aiming at some mob's head, someone on your fireteam kills the mob and your patience has been wasted. It happened time and time again when I was in groups and eventually I ditched Oathkeepers. Most groups are fast paced, they're not static waiting for you to fill your progress bar to pull off that maximum buffed shot so for the most part I don't see the point of them in PVE.

This is definitely a great build and way for someone to get used to the bow playstyle as it gives extra damage and is far more forgiving with the unlimited draw. Most bow mains have a hard time with this exotic as it doesn't offer much once you get used to using a bow and takes up your exotic armor slot.

It’s so frustrating because this was Bungie’s chance to change that, but they just didn’t. As it stands it just minimally improves on a set of training wheels people weren’t planning on using for that long to begin with.

Funny enough I found this build accidentally since I had recently gotten oath keeper and since I knew wish ender has sight I combined the exotics for a pretty decent PvP build but of course not using same mods and such
Ngl we need levaithan to work with this it makes no sense that it doesn't and the slow down you would undertake to have the damage buff would pretty much cap DPS and makes the archer tempo catalyst useless so it would be balanced.

Perfect draw is when the hilt of the sword glows and you hear an audio que. Not when the handle glows

So you have to hold the draw even after the bar fills up for oathkeepers? You'd think once the bar fills you'd be good.
Ember of singeing isn’t doing anything, Weighted knife doesn’t scorch at all. It ignites tagrets IF they are scorched
Singeing fragment it useless on this build due to you not using anything that scorches. Weighted knife does NOT scorch targets.
As a hunter bow main, I love the change to Oathkeepers since it adds more versatility!
I’m going to try these with unstoppable bow since you have to hold longer to stun anyway.

not sure if its bugged or capped but i tried running oathkeepers with leviathans breath and there wasnt any differance in damage between the 2 and 4 segments for the oathkeeper buff..if its a cap then it might not be necessary to wait 2sec every time time get to the full 4 segments on the bar
The oath keepers glow when they are fully drawn, that glow needs to fade over the three seconds and then flash at the very end as a visual que. Mentally counting off the seconds sucks.

If you think that’s good I have a theory why kinetic mods boost the supers dmg. And it’s because both guns are modeled after last word and hawkmoon. Both being kinetic weapons one being the best gunslinger weapon and the other being more powerful with precision hits and a SINGLE op Paracausal shot. 😂

Just use them with Acrius and a shotgun that can roll repulsor and if you want to run them with any subclass then get destabilising rounds on the shotgun too. Its honestly a stupid easy build.

I have a stasis Wish-ender build with Oathkeeper prebuff (for fashion reasons more than anything). Took advantage of Rending to buff Wish-ender and I always had a disruption break energy weapon in my pocket to absolutely SCHMELTED any shielded enemies. Break shield, Duskfield, pop them in the head when frozen.
