    Instead of retiring jerseys in football they get passed on from legend to legend, for example Barcelona's number 10 went from Maradona > Rivaldo > Ronaldinho > Messi or Man United's number 7 went from Cantona > Beckham > Ronaldo or Brazil's number 10 from Pele > Rivelino > Zico > Rivaldo > Ronaldinho > Kaka > Neymar, every club/nation has it's legendary numbers that get passed from legend to legend, which makes certain jerseys very prestigious to wear but it can also put you under alot of pressure, since you're expected to fill the shoes of your predecessor if you get the honor to wear such a jersey.

      It’s possible to retire a jersey but it practically never happens because mostly the numbers are 1 to 11.

    When Ronaldinho was the best, Messi was just a young boy. At first, it was Ronaldinho who helped him integrate. He stayed with him after the workouts and taught him a lot of tricks. Messi had been talented before, but he became the real genius alongside Ronaldinho.

    Greetz from Germany! ;-)
    Ronaldinho is for me the greatest footballer of all time.
    Your video at 4:52, he sends Football-Ledgends back to the school. Gattuso, Pirlo, Nesta and Stam behind Nesta. Thats all ledgends in football.
    If you look at the 5:40, Sergio Ramos looks like a little school boy. This day tha Real Madrid audience give respekt and clapped for him. For the biggest rival all time (Barcelona).
    And the last, at 14:44 he assists the first goal from Messi for barca. He knew this is a goal before the ball was behind the line. Look at his smile!^^

    This guy is an absolute genius and legend, somehow he loved to party and that was his biggest problem in his carreer, it's the reason why he was discovered by the top of the world quite late and also why his carreer ended relatively young. This guy was an ultratalent that liked playing football more then winning.

  • @damodeste

    Professional and international football are played on grass. Turf create too many injuries. If you paid closer attention to end video you would seen him passing the ball to Messi for his first goal for Barcelona. Messi was wearing #30 at the time before Ronaldinho passed #10 to him when he left. Ronaldinho was Messi's mentor.

    • @mikelavine9452
      @mikelavine9452 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Turf was tried by some teams in the 80s but it was causing too many injuries so they stopped it.
      Also, it was affecting the bounce of the ball so the game looked weird as well.

    I would say when it comes to pure dribbling messi is the best of all time, messi doesn't really use flashy moves he just uses standard touches of the ball. I would also say neymar and ronaldinho are the best skillers, i wouldnt put one over the other even tho ronaldinho has legend status since he was from a bygone era, but neymar does just as many skills

      @@javalsmith2594 bruh, comparing stats has become the most overrated thing ever in football. It doesn't really makes sense comparing stats between football generations because extra factors influence A LOT in football. I mean, compare La Liga and the Champions League in Ronaldinho era with Neymar/Messi era. It was two complete diferent championships, but still, he managed to win both of them being the protagonist and having not even half of Neymar or Messi stats.

    The matter with Ronnie is that he resigned from being the best in the world and started going out at night too much. His prime lasted like 3 or 4 years only while some others have been on his prime during lots of years! Much more than Ronaldinho, maybe they were not so good but they played much more time on the top level!
    I am a Barcelona fan and in the stadium every time he touched the ball the whole crowd was amazed! He was a really special player to watch and enjoy!

    Kobe wore number 10 for USA because of Messi. Ronaldinho and Kobe were great friends. One time Kobe went to visit Barcelona’s team and Ronaldinho told Kobe “I’m going to introduce you to the best player in the world.” Kobe replied, “but Ronnie, I don’t understand, you’re the best player in the world.” Ronaldinho then said, “no this player is going to be better than me.” It was a 16 year old Messi
