I spent like 5 minutes trying to find some witty way to compliment this guy but I can't find one. I just love this guy and his content so much. These videos have given me the most asmr I have ever felt
same. also the picture stuff gave me ASMR (last time I was there) then almost a heart attack when the air came because she warned me but I didn't hear what she said lmao. we both laughed about it as my eye was watering tho. however the lens and letters dude looked like he hated his job and wasn't polite at all so by the time I was done I was anxious instead of relaxed :)
This is perfect in every way, ive been listening to ASMR for something aroun 6-7 years now and in all my time I have never seen as perfect of a video as this one.
Using lens 1 and 2, you can alternate between the actual lenses, calling lens 1 lens 2 in the next try. It's actually really hard for some people to notice changes in vision, I usually tell people that when they don't notice any difference, just say both lenses are the same, usually you can correct any possible slight errors during the remaining tests. Actually enjoying the content, ASMR combined with my job, never thought to see the day 😊

As someone who wears glasses, this is spot on. The lady takes you through, you use the graph, then put the drops in your eyes, place the refraction glasses on, then the optometrist does his job very well.
The door in the back is breaking my mind is the doorknob facing away or twards me and where is the door frame and is it open or closed? I am confusuion.

Last time I had my eyes checked I think the optometrist must’ve asked “1 or 2” for a solid 10 minutes 😂 I need reading glasses but is it the case where the longer it takes the worse the eyesight?
Not necessarily. The test he is doing (clearer with lens 1 or 2) is called subjective refraction which is a measurement of prescription from the patient's perspective, which means that the patient may experience the same vision with 2 or more lenses and it's the optometrists job to try and give the most appropriate script that helps the eye produce the best image without putting stress on the muscles of the eye (basically the most comfortable script for the patient, if that makes sense). So just because it takes longer doesn't mean it's a worse, or higher, script
We’re just trying to focus light on the retina Jess with spheres and cylinders. The length of time can depend on a few factors. Patient reliability, Optom experience, was there a good retinoscopy prior to subjective? etc 10 minutes is a long time in my opinion. No optician should be taking that long per eye 😬

When I think of experiencing ASMR in everyday life (before I even knew what it was), there are two specific examples that my mind always goes to: one of them is this exact test, right down to the "1... or 2.... 1... or 2.... with... or without?" This is quite possibly the video I've always wanted. Interestingly it also made me actually contemplate the mechanics of how this test is being performed; I guess I always kinda figured but I hadn't really thought about it properly until now. It's so nice having someone who has the equipment and the experience using it - what better way to replicate the real experience? Your voice is perfect for it too. Great stuff!

I always enjoyed opticians visits even as a child - not necessarily just from an ASMR perspective, I just always found all the tests quite enjoyable (they're almost like little "games" in a way). But I think the calm repetition of speech gentle clicks and visual back and forth of the equipment from that test specifically all combines to great effect.
It's been quite some time since this was posted, but just needed to say - this is still probably my favorite video! This, or the one with the dark room and the wall of lighted devices. I watch both of those videos at least weekly! Ty for all your hard work on making these videos so great
