That is a big part of every product we make, and Sledge is a fantastic showcase of our engineering team's attention to detail. Sledge is packed with features that make it awesome to drive and easy to maintain and upgrade.
So much innovation, Traxxas has addressed all the problems you have with aluminum pan chassis cars, specifically the motor slap and better bracing/gussets on the pan. This looks like a winner to me.
The sledge looks like a BEAST, I've never seen a triple rear chassis brace along with that crazy t brace. And the motor mount is awesome for huge jumps.
As one of the leading engineers in the industry: You guys absolutely nailed it with the technical design of the truck 💪👍 It's like a complete breath of fresh air. Clean, efficient , easy to work on, light and durable. This rigs raises the bar again. 👍👍👍
800 is not much specially when a truggy from Tlr team associated or Tekno is 500+ no electronics no transmitter or receiver nor wheels and tires my associated 1/8 scale truggy can easily be $1600 if not more, obviously mine is a more for the race track but I feel like this traxxas truggy has potential especially once you replace those heavy tires.
I'm calling it, someone will nitro this thing, the engine style mount is a nice touch to allow for personal touches, but i like motor plates much better. Now that you got your truggy out, Can you please put bellcranks on the stampede 2wd finally?
The Stampede needs more then bellcranks. It needs a longer wheelbase and a slightly lower center of gravity. Plus the electronics need to be distributed evenly instead of being crammed at the back. The Electric Stampede 2wd handles like garbage. The old Nitro Stampede handled SOOO much better. Even the old school Sledgehammer handled better lol.
@@RobertNES816, I know, but there are plenty of aftermarket choices for longer wheelbase, I'm just pointing out the most Egregious fault in the stampede. my point is there are so many things on current trucks that COULD be improved. I get new cars, but we need love for the older ones, especially the OG's that started traxxas as the RTR giant they are today. I do get what you are saying, but the bellcranks could have been added when the Slash came out. a change to the chassis to use the slash plate and bellcranks simple, but they never did it. It shows they are only interested in the new and shiny, they rarely ever improve the old stuff period. That said, there is now a new transmission, the Drag slash is available for all 3s 2wd based off roaders, so thank you traxxas
@@crazylarryjr Well they actually have improved the 2wd's. If you have any of the original 2wds like the Bandit, Rustler and Stampede you'll see they changed allot. The screw and hinge pin hardware is allot stronger (even the xl5 has stronger screws then the originals), the front hub carriers have revised geometry, the slipper clutch is improved along with the transmission gears, the shock towers are more flexible, the rear suspension arms on the Stampede and Rustler have been improved. Most recently the Rustler and Bandit got a revised chassis to fit longer lipo batteries. So it's not like Traxxas is totally ignoring their classics.
@@RobertNES816, I know all the changes from steel gears, to the TSC radios and everything in between. the problem is Traxxas waits for everyone else to get the pieces out and sold before trolling everyone with their versions. I jokingly say traxxas updates come once in a decade. and currently they are two years late for the new updates. The last time the 2wd cars got a decent update was 2010 I think, That was steel gearing, VXL brushless and the move to 2.4G radios with the new then TQ radios

@@onemansvideos2134 I have Maxx v1. Through all the bashing and jumping with it. Never had a battery that was in the closed battery tray fall out. The clip less body though is a different story
@@RCKnockout I rather have the safety clip pins than the cheap plastic latch think....it's cool but in a flipflop it pops off and damages the vehicle....body is suppose to protect it not eject from it like an aircraft pilot seat
I’d kill for those links for the e revo 2.0! I don’t ever adjust toe anyway so the increased durability would be great…. If anyone knows, would the sledge links fit the revo? Their size is very similar so it might be a perfect drop in fit
Idk about the sledge links, but I do know that RPM makes what they call a "true track" kit that eliminates the need for those fragile rear tow links altogether. Hope this helps:)

This rc cars specs are amazing, this can compete with all of arrma’s rc cars. The only thing I don’t like is the way the body looks, it’s not aggressive in any way.
Weird, they use plastic links and show it as a strong point? Definitely interested to see how well they hold up… being plastic they should also be dirt cheap to replace
I break turnbuckles on my EXB Kratons frequently, the plastic links will definitely be stronger. Not adjustable, but most people don't adjust them on bashers anyway...

Sledge's one piece links can flex and go back to their original shape, where steel links bend and stay. The design also eliminates rod ends that can pull off the link in hard impacts. Our ultra strong TUBES aluminum links will be available as well for those that want the option to tune alignment settings (and add some more color!)

ATTENTION on my sledge the LVC dont work and nearly ruinad a pack of lipo's thank god i had a lipo buzzer hooked up (all cells were at 3.4 idle voltage) when i realised
ok so a few things I do and dont see that I like / Dislike.. Pros - Clipless body with built in rollcage, battery tray clip setup, greased boot drive cups, servo upgrade, aluminum chassis. Cons - Dont see option for motor adjustment to larger pinions (or fine tune gear mesh), Steering C-hubs (if these are built like the Ultimate ones, they will eventually grind out), No anti / pro-dive adjustability, way to much center chassis (no flex for cornering, etc..), No option to adjust for front caster / kickup.... QUESTIONS: Is the Motor / ESC sensored for more programming features, smoother driving, less cogging? Video mentions 5000Mah Batteries, I run nothing less then 120C 7200s' in my Kraton, Comp Race truggies / buggies, Can this RC handle that? Does this come with the Traxxas link preinstalled (hence next question)? And can we expect the overpriced $800 PLUS tax price tag to drop within the year? There are more questions, however IMO.. For $100 - $200 less RTR I can get the Kraton, Talion, Notorious, Typhon, etc.. with ALOT more tunable options, Interchangeble parts with many of the other 8th scale 6S RC lines.. Now I ask you TRAXXAS, why should I buy this RC when there are other brands out there that offers more for alot less? Change my mind on this?

So I come to find out after watching several other videos on this RC, that even though Traxxas has supplied mounting points for sway bars and droop screws they neglected to put these in the box much less pre-installed onto this RC. So apparently Traxxas isn't willing to spare less than $10 worth of plastic and metal for some kind of actual optional tuning ability?
they dont pay that much attention to detail on the warranty of thw sledge with only 30 days on electronics and mine has 3 solid red lights,not even 12months old and all is as stock and hasnt even got one scratch on the bottom !!!!!!!1

Traxxas takes time to perfect all of their models before release, though it seems that they took an extraordinary amount of time to perfect this one, several months of real world testing shows this to be a promising model.
@@runnerbaba lack of front bumper is a definite mistake that RPM will hopefully fix. Body keeps getting stuck behind that tiny little micro bumper thingie on the bottom.
What about nitro cars? Revo 3.3 is based on e-revo v1 and the 3.3 engine is good but it's small block. I want a real 1/8 - 1/5 scale car with a BIG nitro engine! Big boys need new toys!

Had my UDR for 2+ years , no issues with vlx-6. What's your gripe? Traxxas claims a new tune on the vxl-6 for this car.
My Arrma 6s Esc died, my Erevo 6s is still strong...

Screws and motor bearing and pinion gear gave out but thats all after 6 months of HEAVY abuse!

Clipless body is mistake.
It will be good. But no front bumper is maybe not so cool
Why would it be a mistake? Especially now that it finally slides in the other way and won’t pop out on every nose dive.

@@runnerbaba lack of front bumper is a definite mistake that RPM will hopefully fix. Body keeps getting stuck behind that tiny little micro bumper thingie on the bottom.
The Maxx is the best rc basher this sledge sucks not worth 800 bucks plus change the aluminum chassis to plastic and it would be worth it

Revo 3.3 is based on e-revo v1 and the 3.3 engine is good but it's small block.

This could be a perfect nitro. STOP doing electrics all the time. Right now I'm thinking on a nitro conversion with a OS.21 on it.
When Nitro grows in popularity they'll make more Nitro models. But Nitro had its day. Lipo and Brushless have taken over.
