One more thing I forgot to add that drives me nuts. All these empty stores and space and yet many times I see trees being cleared on an empty lot for a new business or store. I just don't understand why precious trees are cut down to make room for a new business or store and then have an almost abandoned chain of stores just next door to it. It makes no sense. Less trees for birds and other wildlife. Truly sad and disgraceful.
The restaurant at your right when you entered was a Ruby Tuesday and then a Mexican restaurant...in the 90's pre-Amazon days people used to spend time having fun at this Mall with their friends and family 👪...most of the guys would end up at Sears checking out the new tools 🔧...great memories for many Lake Mary/Sanford residents...hopefully new ideas 💡 from great investors help bring back to life these places where people can get together and have fun....
Yeah that is sad. It probably was booming back on the day! It’s sad to see but hopefully someone can come in and make it what it used to be! Thanks for sharing all that info!
We were wondering about this mall for a while, I told that it's was out of business, because the parking lot it's always empty, thank you guys , God bless
Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m., and the mall is almost empty! Who would have ever thunk it? At one time there was consideration to “repurposing” empty malls into Amazon distribution centers. Nothing like insult on top of injury.
The mall near us in port richey is almost empty too it’s a shame. Used to be fun going. Gave u something to do on a hot day. Amazon and other internet places taking over!
I loved Tembers comment about nothing dates a mall more than a Barney kids ride😂 priceless. Unfortunately this seems to be happening with a lot of malls now! We are flying to La next month and driving to Vegas with a stop over in Barstow. We were last in Barstow about 6ish years agi and they had a massive outlet mall, from watching vlogs it appears that is now completely closed, ehich is a shame.
Haha that was true with the Barney ride! That’s sad. Not sure if there will be many more malls around. You will have to report back on if there is much there anymore!
I don't know what's going to happen to all these vacant store spaces. The mall near my house is the same. Many empty spaces where my favorite stores used to be. A lot less choices for shoppers. We pretty much have to take what's available or order online and hope it works out. Very different times for sure.
That is the mall I've gone to the majority of my life. I worked at the bookstore (Books-A-Million) that used to be across the street for well over a decade, and my Ma worked in the JCPenny for a little over 20 years. Sad to see it so dead.
@@thealtemlife awesome. I just moved back here after spending several years in Wisconsin. I met up with my Dad and walked the mall just to marvel at its corpse.
It makes me sad to see this mall in it's current state because it used to be an awesome, lively place. Way back when it actually had a Disney Store and a Warner Bros Studio Store
I live in Deltona and this is the closest mall and after that, Altamonte Mall. Obviously you can’t compare the two because they’re like night and day. The Sanford Mall is very sad and very similar to many malls across the country. I read in another article that when malls get to this point, they turn off escalators to save on utilities. Some also adjust the A/C to save. So sad what’s happened to so many malls that used to really draw the crowds. That’s social media and the internet for you… 🤷🏼🤷🏼
Good point! Lots of malls are being deserted. Makes sense about the escalators. We have also been to the Altamonte Mall and maybe sometime we can do a video there. Thanks for watching!
LOL That LEGO store is our store, that must have been the first week we opened, didn't even have our shelving up yet! If you guys ever make it back to Seminole Towne Center, feel free to stop in to our LEGO store and say hi. We actually moved across from the Winey Wench wine bar now.
Oh wow! That is cool! We will for sure have to stop by. We love legos and now that you have a full store, that would be awesome to visit. Thanks for commenting!
this mall used to be packed in early 90s early 2000s looks like its either dyeing now or just slow i assume dyeing malls used to be cool place to hang with friends movies girls lol now all good times are good we have to now accept the new generation
You got the right. It seems like it is slowly closing the doors. Malls used to be the go-to! We can only imagine what it used to be like in the 90s. It was probably the spot to go to on vacation, too!

Very good point! You think they could just use the space already there and not cut down other stuff. Eventually, there won’t be any space left!
Darn ! I definitely was wanting a dining review from the food court. Maybe next time! Lol.
Haha maybe next time! There wasn’t too many choices to pick from! Lol
Not many choices but will be good to know what is still left.

It’s almost out of business but not quite. It’s sad to see!
Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m., and the mall is almost empty! Who would have ever thunk it?

Yeah that is a ghost town! Wow that would be interesting to say the least. Definitely insult on top of injury!
The mall near us in port richey is almost empty too it’s a shame. Used to be fun going. Gave u something to do on a hot day. Amazon and other internet places taking over!
That’s too bad! Yeah it seems like most do all their shopping online. That mall has a Best Buy right? I think we have been by it before!
Yup it does I heard they are trying to make a comeback with some new stores but haven’t been there. Love international mall and citrus park

Wow I used to go there a couple times. I used to go to Hot Topic and Spencer's it's good that they are there. For now.
It has changed a lot but there are still a few stores left in there!
I am about 5 mins from the Mall and have not been in years!
It probably looks much different than it used to!

That is true. Times have changed. It seems like most malls are turning out to be this way. A bunch of empty space!
That is the mall I've gone to the majority of my life.

Sad to see it so dead.
Oh wow! You for sure have some memories here! However, a new investment group bought it so they are supposed to be changing it up!
@@thealtemlife awesome. I just moved back here after spending several years in Wisconsin. I met up with my Dad and walked the mall just to marvel at its corpse.
Hopefully they can turn it around!
It makes me sad to see this mall in it's current state because it used to be an awesome, lively place. Way back when it actually had a Disney Store and a Warner Bros Studio Store
I wish it still had those stores! Apparently someone bought it so hopefully we can see some good progress!

You totally walked by the "Curious Lore" bookstore, that would be third cool store besides the Funko and Estate Sale stores there.
Interesting! What’s all in there?
I love that cotton candy machine in there
Will have to rewatch and see what you are referring to lol!

sad
Yeah it is!
All this i have to say to connect it
?
Makes me so sad that malls will soon be a thing of the past.
Yeah it was pretty sad to see how empty it was.
This mall is terrible, it's "spooky and major sketch" lol !
It was pretty bad! However, apparently someone bought it and is redoing it!
Internet shopping is killing the brick and mortar businesses and the malls are front and center. It’s sad a lot of lost jobs.
Yeah it sure is! There wasn’t much left in there.
