  • I don't typically do these kinds of videos but there isn't much out there for ppl who are interested in this scooter so I hope that someone gets some needed info out of this.
    The oil I use is:
    engine oil: Valvoline 4-Stroke Motorcycle Full Synthetic SAE 10W-40 Motor Oil
    gear oil: Valvoline SynPower SAE 75W-90 Full Synthetic Gear Oil

    I carry my 1990s flip phone in my pocket. I own it, it does not own me. Don't forget a valve adjustment is required at 200 miles. As for the 25 mph thing, that is total BS. You need to do a couple of full throttle blasts (only for like 10 seconds) within the first 40 miles to seat the rings. If you don't, the rings will never seat, the cylinder walls will glaze, you will be down on power, and it will burn oil. Aside from that, take it easy, vary speed, don't let it overheat, the engine will be completely broken in within 100 miles. I would put 200 miles on it before taking any long rides at full throttle, but that's just being really OCD. Replace the belt when you replace the tires. You can't feel the "transmission" shifting, because it doesn't have a transmission. It has a CVT. There are no shift points. I don't recommend synthetic oil until at least 500 miles.

    I bought a $969.00 dollar DF Moto brand 150cc Chinese scooter. It seems better made than the popular TaoTao. I do all my own work on my cars and downloaded 40 different manuals on GY6 engines so I should be good as I don't have money for mechanics. The scooter runs well, has good acceleration, parts are dirt cheap from Amazon. Between the title, registration, insurance, license and riding gear I spend as much as the bike cost. I made two phone holders with large tie straps using 6 straps each. They hold the phones tight which I use for GPS navigation and speedometer/trip counter using radio wave based apps so no need for a cell connection.

      Yeah, if a scooter is decently taken cared of, it should last a really long time. Nice deal. :D

    I have a 2012 Kymco Like 200i actually a 164cc engine 11.5 hp fuel injected I bought in 2020 used for $1200. I like this scooter so far reliable and can take my 195lbs cruise at 50mph. Honda owned 20% of Kymco to 2019 and very reliable. Do not compare Kymco they are made in Taiwan to Chinese anything. They are number 3 selling scooters world wide behind Honda and Yamaha. Trying to get into US market, but going up against the macho big bike mind set is hard to do. These sell millions in Asia and Europe. Americans will ride scooters when fuel costs $10 a gallon.

    Lucky you. You found a Kymco dealer. They are like finding a four -leaf clover. Few and far between. And even if you find a Kymco dealer how long will they be there? They go under and you are screwed because they are not like say a Honda dealer where you will have no trouble finding another one. Shame they have not promoted the brand more. People assume they are like a cheap online Chinese scooter.

    Hey, enjoyed your video! Like you I have no previous scooter experience, but am thinking about buying this exact same model. No Kymco dealers near me so going to purchase online. I am 6’1.5” so we are basically the same height. I weigh 195lbs. How is the leg room on this scoot? Could you maybe do another video showing how you look sitting and maybe riding? Is there enough room so that you’re not bumping your knees when making turns? Is the reach to the controls comfortable? Is acceleration good? Top speed? Thanks!!

      Glad you enjoyed the video. I have zero issues with leg room, I've never banged my knee or had the thought that I needed more leg room. The reach to the controls are good, I'm not on top of them nor am I having to reach for them. I'm about 125 miles away from hitting the next milestone of 600 miles. At that point, and after a oil change, I can go whatever speed I want. I can't comment on max speed but I feel that the acceleration is good but can't give a final answer until I can go above 25mph. I'm sure there are many ppl who don't follow the break-in procedure but I do like to keep the warranty so I'll finish the break-in. :D

    Greetings from U.k. Yorkshire.. I'm thinking of down sizing to one of these scooters they appear to be well built.
    Yours looks great what m p g are you getting? Cheers

      If his scooter isn't broken in yet it may not be at peak MPG.

      Honestly, I don't track that info. And now that I don't have a speed restriction, how hard you use the throttle plus decent head wind will really eat some gas. If I'm in traffic, I accelerate pretty good as ppl can just be jerks if they think you aren't going to go the speed limit.

    You should Not have used synthetic motor oil while breaking it in. You actually Need a little more friction for the piston rings to seat properly.

    • @mosindesire
      @mosindesire  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think this is more of a personal choice. I researched this topic a lot before the first oil change and nothing was found that would indicate a problem with synthetic at any stage/mileage.

    Does it fit a full face helmet under seat? If not, does it have hooks under seat to hang helmet
