The biggest positive I took from this is how excited and passionate the whole team appears to be. The game looks good so far, but the way the team talks about the franchise and their game gives me hope that the game will be as great as it seems.
Yeah usually it's fake hype to appease marketing but the team seem like genuinely huge Harry Potter nerds which tells me the game is in great hands.
the best games are made by people who are passionate about the universe they're working on. Just look at games like Witcher 3, Skyrim, Elden Ring, etc. the devs on those games clearly cared deeply about the worlds they were creating. I really hope this is the case for this game (seems like it)
They were also taking lots of fan considerations and making sure they do the story right. Im so excited

This game seems like its been in development for over 5 years so much detail beautiful landscapes world looks amazing! Im putting in more than 100 hours into this game!
I've been thinking that an open world Hogwarts game would be amazing for at least a decade. I'm willing to bet that a lot of these devs were fans like me and actually just made the game they wanted instead of waiting for it to happen. Their team is even called "Portkey Games", so I hope I'm right. It would mean we get a great game.

We got the shadow of mordor and war games. I thought they were great but was mostly focussed on the action and nemesis system. Lord Of The Rings needs an RPG game where you make your own character and choose a class and affiliation. Middle Earth could be one of the most massive and exiting open worlds of all time rivaling Skyrim and The Witcher’s The Continent.
A mix of Witcher 3 and Bully.
I like it. Its even better than i could ever imagine. This is better than what i wanted as a kid. Cant believe we are getting a game like this.
RIP to all Harry Potter fans who passed away and cant experience this.

@@sagittarius4765 Every modern RPG has been influenced in some way by the witcher..this game is no exception, the entire presentation screams witcher 3.
This game looks absolutely brilliant, it manages to capture the "feel" of the books and films so well.
I think a big part of that is keeping the idea that objects are still what they are as they float around.
You stand in the middle of a bridge repairing itself with repairo and you will get crushed.
Thats what I loved about the Wizarding world, physics still apply even when magic is involved.

The most surprising thing is that you can learn and use forbidden curses. So multiple endings I am assuming

Imo the combat in deathly hallows had the potential to capture what it's like to really fight against wizards instead of just awkwardly standing there waving your wand around
I actually enjoyed those. They were the first non lego HP games I played, which are still superior in my eyes, but I can see why people would prefer what came before even if I've only played HBP, OOTP and POA.

Only thing missing from this was Diagon Alley - this looks absolutely incredible though, did not expect it to be so vast and have what appears to be so much depth. Honestly, just letting me explore Hogwarts and I’d have been there.
It’s a shame we won’t get to meet Hagrid and Dumbeldore etc - but it honestly makes complete sense to see it so far away from the Harry Potter timeline. I can’t wait for this game!

Avalanche software, which is who is making this game, haven't really made anything of great note in recent years but they worked on Mortal Kombat back in the 90's i believe

This is the game we have all dreamed of and never thought we would get. My excitement level before this video was a 2/10 and now its a 10/10. This looks so incredible and I cant wait to get my hands on it!

This honestly looks way better than I could’ve imagined, if it’s as good as it looks this game will go down as one of the best games ever made.
...but it doesn't look like anything special. I don't see anything in this video suggesting that the game is doing anything outside of the ordinary for a modern AAA game, which are largely average. Lots of things that look different in form, but seem essentially identical in interactive function and execution. And the interplay seems very standard - Truncated and linear single-counter interactions. Interplay is the best indicator of game quality because it's the most important and fundamental aspect of gameplay around which the entire game revolves, so any game lacking quality interplay is going to be extremely limited and far from the greatest games ever made.

so this is in 1890 then, which means Dumbledore is alive and around 9 years old at the time. This could mean with dlcs, or even if it shows main character in 7th year, we can see a first year Albus Dumbledore. Also, this is the year of 1890-91 for that school year, which means we could hear of Percival Dumbledore's killings of the three muggle boys on a newspaper.
But yeah, the main thing is, we can see Dumbledore when our main character is in his 7th year which would be amazing.
Our 7th years duel a first year Dumbledore and get absolutely gob-smacked 🤣

As long as they don't mess things up with the controls of the game, how you play it, then i think this is going to be fantastic.
There seems to be a great deal to do and learn, some wonderful adventures and many wonderful things to discover.
It looks beautiful and already gives a fantastic feel of the worlds of Harry Potter that so many have come to know and love.
I look forward to seeing and playing this myself, i can't wait!

Ollivander himself wouldn't even have been born as this is set in 1800s but maybe an ancestor of his?

Yes picking your own house will hopefully be in it and there was a trailer earlier on that shows that you can pick your own wand

This looks dope, looks like the combat might be a little one dimensional (fighting single people at a time, and like you're a bit of a damage cushion), but still looks sick.

Nah it was clearly just for demonstration purposes. The combat in any demo looks basic because the player showcasing it is either not a great player or they use scripted scenes.
However there are a few moments that you can clearly tell that combat can get intricate and difficult. We didn't actually see many spells being thrown at the player character but we do see them dodge roll at some point. You also have the deflect spell. So it's safe to say that, since they added those mechanics, combat can get more difficult than simply tanking damage.
Oh and let's not forget they only really showcased basic enemies and not bosses or beast combat.
@@ryu-ken you can't judge the performance of a game that's being recorded in a cinematic fashion and uploaded to a site that allows 60fps max and compresses the video.
Not to mention, and I actually can't believe I have to say this, but it mainly depends on hardware.

Starfield, Midnight Sun's, two new pokemon games, Suicide Squad, and I might be forgetting something else too lol. This is likely going to be the biggest year for gaming since 2007.

I can’t tell you how many hours I played half blood prince and I’d role play in my head going to classes and stuff but now it’s possible. With so much more this is gonna be one of 4 or 5 games this year that kids will have those same memories we had growing up playing the older games. Like sorcerers, chamber and Azkaban, and order of the Phoenix was also really really good.

An updated graphics of the og HP game in PS1 based on footage shown and the puzzle solving im not surprised if it has those revolving stairs and can roam around Hogwarts which was the same direction of the classic..

This game will be much better than I thought. If Hogwarts Legacy comes out as this showcase showed to us, it will be one of the greatest game of the decade, no doubts.

The last Harry Potter story game I played was Sorcerers stone for PS1 I'm excited to go back. I love they incorporated broom flying as a means of travel. Is it selfish of me to want to play for the Quidditch teams and chase the cup? Or should I hold out hope that we may get another Quidditch World Cup game in the future?

Amazing! I hope they touch on the problems with prejudice that we see in the HP story ark. Conflicts with Dark wizards, pure-blood mania, muggles, and other magical beings. The dark turmoil and parallels to our own world is what made the HP story so good imo.

All I've wanted is to be a student at Hogwarts. Go to classes, learn spells, play quidditch, chill in the common room, and NOT be Harry Potter. Going to the college of winterhold in skyrimVR is the closest I've gotten to feeling like I was a student at a school of magic.
I think the best feature is the ultimate freedom you have so depending on how you play you'll get a different ending from a friend or family member also the don't think the game will "end" after the credits I'm pretty sure you'll be able to play more and mess around
It does look somewhat promising, but now that Elden Ring has spoiled me in terms of open world design and the amount of content at launch, if this ends up being a sad, soulless "Ubisoft"-esque Open World, checklists, watchtowers, fetch quests, microtransactions, etc. then it might as well go straight into the dumpster.

Well, it's a good year to learn spells (in the first years all the spells they learn are too silly in the books). Also, there may be continuations of this game in which we will have to cross the sixth and seventh year, so it could be a good trilogy of games with different stories.
HP is probably the only franchise that made a big part of my childhood. That along with Supernatural really were and still are a big part of me. Always felt a bit sad to not see HP's story and lore explored properly within games, specially these last years, with so many advancements. Loving the franchise how I do, I never played HP's games up until this one, hoping it'll fullfill the holes others couldn't. Tho we gotta understand it's probably a gigantic weight to do such game, I seriously think HP fans will be much more attentive to detail and critical than R*, and most of us know how that goes. Just hope they do what most of us expect.

Looks wicked but I hope there’s more voice lines for each spell than what’s shown here. A even tempered “accio” while fighting an army of goblins and dark wizards feels off.
The thing they missed I think is starting in 5th year. They should have started it in 1st year and had the whole thing about receiving your letter and going on the boats and meeting your friends for the first time etc. Apart from that, looks perfect

Wow this is pretty amazing. This really is the game that many Harry Potter fans want, being a character in the harry potter universe and just interacting and exploring the world, especially Hogwarts.
Heck, i may not be a big harry potter fan but just the concept of exploring Hogwarts and seeing the places you couldn't really see in the movies or explore much in the book is very exciting

Honestly, I didn't even expect them to go into the whole countryside area. So I think all the "base" things you'd expect from this game are going to be in it. If anything, they have plenty of room for expanding with DLC.

Starting as a 5th year and knowing that you will see fall, winter, and spring as you progress through the story leaves me to believe that this will be a trilogy, 6th year and 7th year to follow. How they will keep Hogwarts fresh with each new sequel will be a challenge. I can only assume that you will venture to far off locations such as the Ministry, Diagon Alley, London, etc.
If the timeline adds up they could have a Triwizard Tournament in one of them. I'm not sure when it started/was banned though. But it'd be a way to keep it unique.

3 major red flags:
1. The combat looked the same in every sequence. They said I can create my own "build", but right now, I saw the same 4 spells over and over again.
2. The plants in the room of requirement had a timer that reminds me so much of Hogwarts mysteries, that I am now deathly afraid they put microtransactions and time saver in there. Dear lord, I hope I am wrong.
3. The "gameplay" trailer didn't show any comprehensive gameplay. Just a bunch of 10 second clips. That makes me kind of doubt a 2022 release.
This looks really great thank you for showcase. I hope there will be opportunity to create another separate game chapter with coop/async multiplayer.

Once you get in touch they will call the Applicants who meet their requirements and choose the best among them. Competition is there but if someone is talented he will surely be hired sooner or later .
Dumb question but will wands be the only weapon? I don't have much about Harry Potter but I do know the elf got killed by a knife so can we use that too?
Game looks fabulous no doubt but I think needs a little bit improvements on the details on the beasts in my opinion.
