The next big craze after this , if memory serves was BMX movies and breakdance movies...we had a great time in the 80s..including coloured fleck trousers and jackets.,oh and stonewash, marblewash, pebble wash and other such bleached jean , tight as skin tight could get...then baggy as baggy could be..we had so many fads crammed into the 80s it's a wonder we had time for anything..😂😂😂

I suspect the BMX movies came first.Could be wrong. But as I recall the bmx thing came very early in the 80s.The ninja stuff came later, when the martial arts marked was rising

Being a kid in the 80s was basically the greatest age of innocence since the 1950s. We were so lucky to live through it all. Great music, amazing cinema, etc. Even the ridiculous ninja films were fantastic for a kid.

I watched all those movies in the theaters back then. 80s in my opinion was the best time for movie going.

Love this! Thank you! A minor detail: it should've begun with the film that started the ninja craze, Chuck Norris' The Octagon (1980) which is full of ninjas 🥷

That´s my childhood right there. I like how in this day in age, you can see the original Japanese versions without the horrendous dubbing and chop job editing.

Interesting to note: none of these trailers for ninja movies include anything resembling turtles. Nothing against turtles but, hey, turtles with Sai swords and nunchuks are kinds far-fetched. Ythink?

Raw force will that be here ??? Ninja zombies and a female sex trade ring where some sleazy looking Americans go to some insane island of ninja monks to rescue the women, attacked by long dead samurai and ninja zombies ..it's a great film I loved as a 12 yr old .lol 😂

The American Ninja series is so fuckin' asinine. It's like making a movie titled "Nazi Jew".
Considering the history the US has with Japan (and Japanese-American citizens), to then take its culture and make it their own is absolutely dishonorable and repugnant.

In the 80s in the UK , following the wave and fashion (?) Of ninja movies we were getting in trouble at school for using metal work classes to make shurikens , grappling hooks and numshuks (spelt wrong) eventually banned from school were the shuriken , numshuks but oddly not the grappling hook..😂😂😂 13 yr olds obsessed with everything American ninja wasn't good..😱🥴🫣🙄😂
