When fake computer generated scenes weren't even invented but still the movie was just as good. Just great acting. When the song comes on and he is making his sword that scene gives me goosebumps still till this day
I feel so terrible for the Ninja. Tries to start a new life in America, only to find more pain and suffering because of the crime here. The guy just can't get a break.
Me, too. Even with all his diligent training in the Disciplines of the Body and of the Mind, Mr. Saito could do nothing to stop the circumstances that inducted him into the Widowers Club & single parenthood. He deserves better.
I love sho kosugi the best ninja in films ever probably. This is one of his flicks i dont recall ever seeing but anything sho does is worth watching and if its a ninja movie then he is the best. This was a good movie a classic 80s sho ninja gem glad to see it and thanks for the upload i will be watching this again and if you like 80s ninja flicks this is a must see for you and all the sho kosugi fans. Good show good action good enough story and performances good fun ride
This was 1 of my favorite Sho Koshugi movies because it.had his.sons on it. Young Kane Koshugi was a beast at 8yrs old. Brings me back to the days of 9 Deaths of a Ninja and Ninja 3 The Domination.
So is this one of the greatest films weve all never heard of? Thank you and God for the evolution of man to allow us to see this magnificent piece of art.
Many thanks for this upload, as it's great to see the full uncut version. I've got the Film 101 Cult Blu Ray which is the UK version and while the picture and sound are excellent, the more violent scenes have been completely butchered. Sho Kosugi is fantastic in this and James Booth is a brilliantly vile bad guy (interesting that he wrote the screenplay, as well as Avenging Force and American Ninja 4). It's also nice to see Norman Burton pop up as one of the only non-corrupt police, as I'd not seen him in much else apart from the Diamonds are Forever Bond film.
@LetSleepingCorpsesRiseUp&EatUsAll it's a shame, as the transfer is one of the best I've seen from 101 Films, as some of their stuff is a bit hit and miss. The funny thing is that I read a review of the film by someone who didn't realise they were watching the r rated copy, so James Booth's character probably came across as less evil than what he was.
I've got the UK blu Ray I didn't no it was cut I think the only footage they have reinserted is the bits with the throwing stars so is the us version the uncut version
In fortunately, such master pieces are not being made in our era . What a great story, what a great music, the movie was simple , and beautiful, this is what I call Cinema . Im jalouse of those who were at my age during the 80s
Sho Kosugi is a great martial arts movie star who unfortunately has become forgotten by most people. PS: I believe youtube might censor this movie because of the hospital scene.
The grandmaster was right once a Ninja always a Ninja just as a martial artist is a martial artist. It is very interesting learning more and more about ancient Japan and other cultures
Awesome 👍 one of the best Sho was and is a true Ninja grandmaster movie or not you have to respect the lethal art of Ninja they were the greatest and fiercest assassin's in the history of the world
In the beginning Shos older son while he may be smaller in size than his fellow martial artist shows why in any fight it doesn't matter about size or it's about heart and determination this young lad defeated his foe after his brother was defeated. Yet another great lesson from martial arts
Because he'd literally kill everyone he wouldn't hang a pirate , he'd fill him full of Shuriken Stars and maul him with Bear Claws. he'd be so stealthy that stallone would be like Last chance, Drops your guns all the enemies would just drop dead ...........Ninja Magic
🙏😑Sho Kosugi and son's were exceptional in this movie, I have the song in my playlist😑👍 I also have watched many times being a student of: Tae Kwan Do, Ninjitsu has always been an art that I've read about, studying it is hard but profitable 👊🏼😑
This movie came out in 1985 & is very similar to Sho Kosugi's earlier film Revenge Of The Ninja (1983). & this movie is one of my favorites from the legendary Sho Kosugi. I like this one & Revenge Of The Ninja to
A way too over the top in depth assessment - the way the ending massacre was written where Sho unleashes his fury is brilliance in illustrating just how enraged he was. As a child when I watched this I thought how silly, these guys couldn't touch Sho: he is THE ninja of the 70s and 80s. Watching this as an adult, however, I see that he had to be shown as semi vulnerable in overcoming the levels of pain and suffering in order to avenge his wife. Had Sho simply steamrolled the evil forces, his vengeance (while complete) would have lessened the need for the retaliatory violence - pinning a man to a log with spiked nunchucks and then turning on the saw - would have seemed over the top and risked painting Sho as just another evil lunatic with unbridled rage. The way it went, however, from the death of his beloved to exacting cartoonish levels of violence upon the evil doers, made this a masterclass in story telling. One of the most underrated ninja movies from the 1970s and 1980s by the greatest on-screen ninja ever.
Wow what an eventful and productive first full day in the country. At least I think everything up to the hit and run is all the same day. Maybe the second day though. 😂🤣

My favourite movie from sho👍🏻💯 I remember watching this as a kid , I must of been 8-9 years old watching it like 10x in a day😅 Great movie, great memories; but I love the ending when detective Anderson threw the star at Akira and smiles... Like "good job" on killing those p.o.s. That was a great ending. My favourite is 19:45 when Akira gives them a look like" I'll kill you" but then he restrains himself. Great discipline. But the ending I had a bit of problem with, Akira is supposed to be untouchable against regular people. Yet Limehouse stabbed him and fucked him for a minute. I could see if Akira was fighting another ninja, but Akira was fighting a Michael Myers type of villian,he should have easily killed Limehouse without being touch. An untrained man shouldn't have been able to lay a finger on a black belt ninja..
It's unfortunate because Sho was right about going to America because of the violence unfortunately and sadly the move will cost him his beautiful wife but when great evil strikes thankfully there is great justice and Sho used his deadly art of Ninja to get revenge and justice for his wife
...and countless other victims of their violence. I wouldn't call it so much "revenge" as I would call it a well-deserved punishment. They had it coming to them when they murdered the wife God lent him. They blew their safety margin by raping her before murdering her, too. I would have looked for battery cables to put on them spikes Sho pounded into him so his death would be shocking and he'd beg for death after a few jolts if he had murdered & raped the wife God lent me, but like Yesterday goes, he's not half the man he used to be!
