Always a great hike - I typically do "da hike between da falls" in September. Moderate temperatures, no bugs, and few people. 😎 Love that you mentioned Adventure Archives - great channel. Yes I think those were turkey tail mushrooms.
Absolutely love mom and dad in this one!!! Adorable. :) I visited the park on my first trip up to Isle Royale…. Just walked around the falls, didn’t have time for a trail. I just remember all the steps to get on the landing of each one! Side note: I hate steps. ;)
Love the parental units’ trail names! We use walkie talkies in the Boundary Waters when we split up canoes to find a campsite. They’ve saved our bacon a few times.
I'm nervous because we're heading up there and I'm pretty out of shape especially after surgeries and stuff. I've never done the Giant Pines Loop, but I was thinking about starting with that one. I am still having trouble with a lot of elevation changes. Do you think that's a good beginner loop?
That is an excellent beginners loop! I would definitely start with giant pines. You can also park at the upper falls and walk the paved path from the parking lot to the falls. You can still see them from the top without doing all the stairs.
@@HusbandWifeOutdoorLife oh good! That was kind of my plan when looking at how close it was to the parking lot. When I was a kid I did the river trail but it was so long ago and you know, kids have tons of energy so nothing was ever a problem even though I was fat then too lol. I'm trying to slowly get back to being able to do longer walks and treadmill, but I'm having to start on the stationary bike for now til I get some strength and healing back D: but hopefully by September I'll be in a bit better shape.
