- Here's a quick look at the Official Settlers of Catan Board I got through Kickstarter. I love Settlers of Catan and this board is the perfect companion for any "Settlers" fan.

Hi, I love this board too, but what really annoyed me is that I went out and bought a new version of the game. The hex sizes (in Switzerland) are SLIGHTLY smaller, but still plug in ok, but the roads and houses are now plastic. YUCK!! And I didn't get the newer ports with the game either.
The original quality of the game I bought in Germany years and years ago was far better than the rubbish that now comes with the game. However this board rocks from Kickstarter....
I hear you. I hate when the cost reduce products. One of the charms of German-style board games is there hardy construction. Something you don't typically see with American made games.
Yeah it's sad. Also the way that markets are split is annoying. Catan in Germany is different from UK Catan and Swiss Catan different still! :(
Very annoying. I get localization but they really should commit to keeping the quality of materials consistent.
The quality, and the pieces themselves. I now have to make port tiles somehow! I hear in your video they are sold online, will have a look!

Hi, can you tell me if it big enough for all the 5-6 player expansions like Seafarers and Cities and Knights?
I don't have those so I couldn't say as I don't know what components they include. It does work with the basic 5-6 player Settlers of Catan expansion board though as shown in the video.
It works great for Cities and Knights.. not so much for Seafarers.

Good in idea, but it doesn’t give the feel of playing catan.
