The reason acceptance of immigrants and refugees in Ireland is dropping is the same reason acceptance of LGBT community is dropping. The Irish government and judicial system have created a two tier legal system where everyone who is a minority, whether that be ethnic, gender, religious or sexual are held to a much lower standard in the courts and conversely are being put to the top of the queue in being prioritized for allocation of state provisions such as housing and government job positions. This is being done deliberately, knowing the damage it is causing to the country, for the purpose of creating infighting within the communities. It is a divide and conquer tactic in which the mainstream Irish media happily colludes. Immigrants and other minority groups here are being used to create tensions which will be used by the same government as an excuse to expand government and police powers and lead to authoritarian governance. In my personal experience the vast majority of Irish people are very tolerant people.
The reason acceptance of immigrants and refugees in Ireland is dropping is the same reason acceptance of LGBT community is dropping. The Irish government and judicial system have created a two tier legal system where everyone who is a minority, whether that be ethnic, gender, religious or sexual are held to a much lower standard in the courts and conversely are being put to the top of the queue in being prioritized for allocation of state provisions such as housing and government job positions.
This is being done deliberately, knowing the damage it is causing to the country, for the purpose of creating infighting within the communities.
It is a divide and conquer tactic in which the mainstream Irish media happily colludes.
Immigrants and other minority groups here are being used to create tensions which will be used by the same government as an excuse to expand government and police powers and lead to authoritarian governance.
The ruling class here, like in all european countries care nothing for either the straight white majority or the growing minority of the civilian population and are happy to pit us all against each other, regardless of the consequence to minority communities, once it get them what they want, which is like I said more power.

Luckily when I went to Israel many years ago I only heard a few micro aggressions from people when I was out and about. The people I was working with were cool individually. However back then there was a ‘joke’ that the time difference was 20-30 years -as most women were working at home. And being a black woman in an office meant cleaning lady or secretary if at all 🤷🏾♀️

Looks like the boys at 7:00 were denied entry because they did not have tickets. Which was it? They bought tickets and could not get in or they were trying to get in without tickets. I tried reading the caption but it did not match up with the reporters audio as far as I could tell. This is one of the most confusing episodes. But I will say I am shocked that the journalist reports here on things she has to say she could not validate. ⚠

I visited Ireland in October and had a ball. Racism is everywhere; however, it seems to be a lot less than the United States.

Thing is, we don't know a thing about that nowadays, and we have grown into another western neoliberal state. We have turned into the Brits and Americans who looked down their nose at Irish immigrants, linking us with crime and misery.
No, I don't think that most immigrants have suffered anything like our ancestors, but places like Ukraine and Palestine have (in both a modern and historical context). I am against adopting the same Anglo nativism that we are rapidly developing.

@@whitiemarsh3671 It's already unrecognisable since the deterioration of Gaelic Ireland. American cultural and corporate imperialism has impacted our image almost as much as centuries of British colonialism. Immigration is a small part of the problem.
I grew up with irish people in the 60,s lived together as they was not liked by the English in uk at the time.
