We were in a very special section at the MBC Genie Music Awards. We were the fans that the artists reached out and touched as they walked up to receive their awards. It was very exciting so we wanted to share this experience with you.

Maybe it's because I don't know much about these groups and because they are so young, that watching them come in and line up and sit bleacher style made me feel like I'm watching a graduation ceremony or school performance. Haha. It's like watching your nieces and nephews and other young people and feeling good seeing them dressed up and you feeling proud of their accomplishments. That whole young people are the future feeling. (I'm in my 30's if you're wondering. Are we still considered young? I hope so hehe)
But then there's this weird feeling when I see them walking up to get their awards, because I can see they still have to restrain their feelings a lot (for sure have to be very guarded in what they do and say), and then the whole gap between them and their fans, because they are walking through strangers. While their fans know almost everything about them, they don't know any of these people, and they have to parade themselves in front of these strangers that want to touch and grab on them. It's just very odd. That disconnect also felt very lonely. A really lonely feeling came up for me when they were all together walking down the walkway through the fans. I wonder does it feel weird to them to be so clearly on display all the time, even if they like the attention from fame. I'm sure they have to feel an odd/surreal moment from time to time.
Anyways, they are beautiful like you said. They looked extra special seeing them so dressed up and gracefully walking back and forth to go backstage or wherever they had to go next. They all looked like they had extra long legs. 😄 Haha

I love BTS, but I really like “Killing Me” and “Love Scenario” by iKon. I don’t really know anything about iKon, but I’m happy they got an award, and would have loved to see them there to pick up the award. Anyway, I hope to see them get some other awards.

I've become an Army only two months back because I wasn't actually much into music but when I stumbled upon their song "fake love" I wanted to research more about BTS and since then i've infactuated with them after knowing who they really are and what messages they have spread through their songs, their humility and humble beginning etc..
It's hard to ignore the fact that Park Jimin shines in a crowd. He's not even Korean. He's international. Even sitting there among all these guys who are taller, some supposed more handsome. He's just got a light and is all heart. He's real. I don't know how to describe it, but I only saw that in people like Michael Jackson when he was little. Jimin is far above Kpop. He is a born artist.
"He's not even Korean" Ummm he is 100% Korean, he does not need to downplay his cultural idenity to prove his fame is worldwide.

Watching in January 2023 and how fun it was to hear y'all's discussion about this and see the great footage you have wow! Very very fun you guys are so lucky to have been there and so freaking close to BTS! I guess maybe 4 years ago there weren't as many guys as there are now that love them now it's a very mixed bag of Ages ethnicities of course and all types of people. I do not like the fact that you have to be a TH-camr or have connections. That must be for people who are not Korean citizens? At least US award shows welcome anyone that is willing to buy a ticket to the show. I don't blame the fans for being upset, they spend a lot of money and time on their favorite artist , but people are able to be in front simply because they are "Influencers" ? I would be crushed personally ...
Lots of places they can be in front. This was just one section, not even near the stage, just as the artists walked out.

Some is with a Canon EOS 80D camera, and some is with a S9+ phone and a few shots with an LG phone lol.

So cool to see you cheering for IKON, and love listening to the ARMY fanboy!! 😆😆😆 My daughter got to see BTS Wings tour in Newark, New Jersey last year. And just took her to their concert in Newark again in September this year. We also got to see Astro, A.C.E., The Rose, and 김명수 at an Expo in New York City the very next day after BTS. Lots of excitement that weekend!

I am an iKON fan myself, I can't get into bts (sorry ARMY) but iKON is my kpop fix
So impressed with Suga rapping and Namjoo n' s english, all of them, their English really got better

You're all lucky to see them in person. But honestly, it is not a good idea for music awards to put the fans too close to idols. I noticed in other fancams, SOME of the fans keep calling their names, flashing their phones and etc. I'm sure it gives them uncomfortable feeling when the fans keep on filming infront of their faces. Idols could've enjoyed watching the performances on stage better.
Why would that make idols "uncomfortbale" when it is literally apart of their daily lives? Their fans support them way more than random influencers, so the fans deserve to be in front taking picture and cheering on their favs.
