HECK YES! Thank you for covering Lara and representing Lolita Fashion authentically! These edits were so fun too and felt really reflective of kawaii subculture! We love Lara our pink princess!
The sign of an emotionally mature adult is minding your own business and letting others live their life, even if the lifestyle isn't for you or you don't understand it. She looks happy and like she's having fun, and isn't that all we can really ask for in life?
For those wondering, lolita dresses can be INSANELY expensive, I’m meaning some of them, especially like ones from the site “angelic pretty” that was mentioned, can sometimes cost $250-400 or more. Even some accessories like the bows can take you back tens or hundreds of dollars. That’s why she was offered so much for that dress-! :3 -Also note that you don’t have to wear expensive stuff if you do lolita, it can be very cheep. People that say otherwise aren’t good~
It's super nice to see a knowledgeable lolita on one of these episodes💕 usually documentaries like to portray lolitas as "living dolls" and I think about everyone in the community hates it by now😅 glad to see they didn't do that for you ❤️
You inspire me! Since I was a teenager I LOVED Lolita fashion but never felt confident to wear it. Pink is also my favorite color and I love the kawaii/sweet Lolita aesthetic!
Good for her. It takes a lot of confidence and u have to be so comfortable with urself. I'm actually quite jealous of her for being so comfortable even if it is a little out of the norm.
She seems legit happy in her pink world ... good for her! I would definitely be the person who visited that would leave something green when I left and wait to see how long it took her to find it.
When people say "you are too old to be dressing like that." my response always is "where is the book? Show me where it says I have to stop wearing what makes me happy?" and they will walk away grumpy.
She says what I'm always saying: life's too short to wear boring clothes. I have too many pairs of novelty patterned socks to count: holidays, animals, food, hobbies, Argyle, city landmarks, cartoon characters. They make me happy, and people like them, yet that's small creativity expression compared to head-to-toe ruffles and fishnets and bows. 'Sweet' really is the only way to describe her style. She's happy, and her look makes others smile too.
Everyone in this video seems reserved and shy, but it's endearing, especially because she and her husband seem to complement each other well. I also like how bold she and her friend are with fashion, despite their personalities. 😀 It inspires me, to be honest.
I was very fond of Lolita style at school. I even bought one red dress with strawberries. It was awesome! I really like your room and everything in it. I can imagine how much money is spent on such love! Your boyfriend looks like a black metal artist and you are his princess. And it's so cute!
My fashion styles go from trad goth, lolita goth to pastel goth (whichever I'm feeling at the time). I dressed 'normal' for so long because I was so scared of what people would think. I regret that now but I'm also happy I've reached a point where I just don't care what anyone thinks of how I dress. Even though your style is 'opposite' to mine I think it's super cute. Your friend's style is more up my street, I love it lol. People saying that you are 'too old' are ironically the ones who need to grow up the most.
That is correct, you are never too old to dress that like that. She is just being herself and not following the crowd like everybody else. I love her style it is super cute and I have a style of my own, but I get too scared and nervous of what people will think because deep down I’m hiding my true self.
I read a quote from Shimotsuma Monogatari (a japanese movie that features a lolita) yesterday that said "it takes more courage to do the things that make you happy than it does to continue suffering in a way you're used to" and I think in the context of loving an alternative fashion this is very true.
it sad to see this video and know that she recently she quit the fashion due to harassment and bullying 😔. No one ever likes to discuss how toxic the lolita community online can be and sugar coat it.
Whatever makes you happy, right?🙂 As a former design student, I truly believe clothing is not only a form of creative expression, but a part of one’s identity. I can sort of relate. With the exception of my workplace, I dress how I want to. Though I live in an area where most people dress casually, I prefer to be “dressy casual” or in “formalwear”. So forget the haters! I know I’d rather be a unicorn in a sea of horses.
Pink is my very favorite color. But pink can be done in a more sophisticated way. It's actually a very lovely neutral color depending on the shade used.
You should try it if you can! I understand that budget and work can be an issue as well as location, though. Pretty much my entire wardrobe is black with a little bit of red thrown in, and since I started dressing this way I've never felt more confident. Sometimes one colour just speaks to you.
I feel strongly to people who think she is too old to dress up like this. I wasn't able to chose what I wear until I was 24 because my family was incredibly poor. Only when I graduated and work then I had enough spare money to put money on dresses I never got to wear as a child. Its something those incredibly privileged people doesn't even realize.
I personally don’t like pink, my favorite color is basically any shade of blue, especially cyan! My style is 80s-90s style (not the obnoxious workout clothes) so I don’t dress like her, but I like really admire her for expressing herself without worry of judgement! I love how she just has a look and freaking owns it.
(rubs hands together) I have a list of lolita dresses and releases up your alley. I've been adding a bit more of that aethtetic into my lolita wardrobe, and it's totally possible.
0:34 person who doesn't like your style is shame I wish had someone in my life I would accept them just way they are. I'm a metalhead don't care I have a my partner into polar opposite of my style along they accept me as I'm as well.Truly be blessing to have someone share my life until death us apart.
I dress goth vintage sometimes once in a blue moon I think it's a breath of fresh air when people dress different than most people humans act like clones too much
I think its awesome 😊. Dress as you like 💛. I'm an 1980's style perdon. I am 44 and any 80's clothing is in my wardrobe. It helps me also, since i suffer from anxiety
Love her style and so beautiful cute and amazing and love her confidence happy positive sprits and your never to old to dress up and have fun! Sweet personality and and everything so proud of her and she finds some images her happy and enjoys so much and strong positive ❤️💜❤️
I'm the same way but with black. I'm not goth, but I am metal/emo whatever people call it. She's adorable, but I hate pink, but she rocks it! Not many people can but she does, so that's pretty cool. People telling her to grow up is ridiculous, obviously they don't know how to have fun. If someone is happy, nobody has the right to judge, unless it's self destructive behavior. But other than that she's happy and she's absolutely beautiful. Good on her for finding herself, I found myself too, it's hard and a long journey, but it's worth it. Edit: They are the cutest couple I've ever seen! Adorable!!
Mental health struggles are bound to occur when being surrounded by unsupportive people for most if not all of your life. Being a lolita or being in subcultures in general is not a result of mental health struggles. In fact having the courage to express yourself despite the unsupportive environments is probably a big reason for how and why many people actually end up being able to keep themselves afloat and happy.
A lot of lolita brand dresses are released only once so the price on the second hand market for popular dresses can get quite high. I've seen some go over 1000$.
I don't know why put her age in big letters like is trying to say she's to old to dress like that, but the thing is, she may have 100 yo, She should dress herself like she wants since is her business and it's not harming anyone
There is a whole Harajuku/Kawaii/Lolita subculture. Literally thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of people in this subculture. Especially, if you travel to Japan where it originated. It's more mainstream than most folks might think.
I'm so sorry that people feel the need to make negative comments. How shallow and narrow-minded they are. Admire the husband for being respectful even if he isn't keen on the style!
Just because it’s not your style doesn’t mean it’s bad. She seems happy and that’s all that matters 💜
yeah
agree :)

Yess! Finally it's actually lolita and not something like a living doll
Spray paint it all black and red.

Yeah my wardrobe cost me $2000 (aud) and I only started lolita a year ago! My most expensive dresses beeing $247 and $300 from angelic pretty
And then people say "you should grow up." Heck, kids can't afford it in the first place😂😊
Thank you so much for having me!! I had a wonderful time filming this!! 💖🎀💕🌸✨
Thank you for sharing with us! I love seeing Japanese fashion overseas!

They are an adorable couple. His insight is admirable.

As a gothic lolita I really enjoyed this video! Good job showing lolita fashion

There's no such thing as too old for lolita fashion! It's nice to see the fashion represented so well.
I was very fond of Lolita style at school. I even bought one red dress with strawberries. It was awesome! I really like your room and everything in it. I can imagine how much money is spent on such love! Your boyfriend looks like a black metal artist and you are his princess. And it's so cute!

So happy to see you being happy! You look incredible Lara 💕
For once one of these episodes doesn't depict her as a "doll" and she actually explains lolita fashion well and they kept it in the vid! Awesome job!
The girl from Finland beat her at that lol
Lara is really sweet, and if she is happy with her style, nothing else matters! I really love her style ❤❤
