This song is in Japanese, since it’s from a Japanese album. The one starting the song is Taeyong. The one you said “is it Mark Lee?”, it is Mark Lee (baby faced, red hair there, our lovely Mark). Mark is Canadian. The Brrrah Brrrah Brrrrah guy IS Taeyong (chiseled features, blonde here, and a really charismatic guy). Taeyong is the center and the face of NCT 127, and he also starts in Make a Wish. Both Mark and Taeyong are Main Rappers and Main Dancers. And that is one of our Main Vocals, high notes mighty man, Taeil (teh-eel).

Taeyong is the one who snaps. NCT is Korean but this song is actually in Japanese, which makes the raps especially impressive since they’re rapping in a foreign language. Japanese member Yuta definitely gets to shine in this track
Little correction NCT is Korean/Chinese/Japanese Kpop group, not just South Korean which is why they’re one of the largest diverse male group in the industry

I still remember the impact it had. 2018 was already an epic year because of 'Empathy' their first colab album with all of the units and 18 members, as it was then. But then 127 had a comback with this single in preparation for their Japanese mini album. It wrecked us all. Yeah, Chain slaps. So glad you enjoyed. it.

Only reason I got it quickly is because my introduction to 127 was their Vancouver concert! You couldn’t be there and not know who was the home town boy!😆 Us Canadians love when one of our own does well and then comes home.
I remember when all of pacific coliseum started chanting Mark Lee and he’s just kinda looking around until someone removed one of his in ears. Seeing the look of shock and wonder on Mark’s face as it dawned on him that a whole arena was chanting his name was so cute and amazing.
Taeyong is the one who did the crazy rap, Mark is the one in red hair that you also commented on, and Taeil is the one who hit the crazy high note

As an nctzen I will say that I’m not mad that you’re exploring other groups. There are SOOO many talented kpop groups out there nowadays. If anything, watching you guys reacting to NCT again was a nice reminder of how much you enjoy listening to their songs as much as I do😊

The one who raps was taeyong and the other one was mark. Ten's not part of 127. He's only part of U and Wayv. Taeyong is part of U and 127 and Mark is in EVERY sub-unit(Dream, 127 and U) but not wayV cause he's not Chinese

For some context Chain is a japanese track so they're singing in Japanese. this was part of a mini album I believe but don't quote me on that lol. they have a Japanese album coming out on February 17th

What I like about kpop and especially nct is that a lot of times their songs are motivational and inspiring with a nice message that any person can relate to. Not every song is about romantic love.

For those who ask for a NCT guide reaction, I think you have to consider that, these men are not typical reactors, they are grown men, they care about music and visual for mv. I don't think they have time to dig into the group or members and they probably don't want to. Let them enjoy the music, it's the more important after all. It's ok if they mix the members as long as they enjoy the music, it's actually pretty funny ! 😄 If I have to recommend them another sort of video, i would recommend the uncut serie and recording sessions. I'm sure it would be more interesting for them than a guide to nct.

LC, the main rappers in NCT 127 are Mark Lee (from Canada) and Taeyong (the Leader over all of NCT, which includes WayV.
Most of the time, Mark Lee raps first and Taeyong follows right after him.
The high note in this song is sung by Taeil (the oldest in NCT). He sings the high note in quite a few songs... Kick It, Super Human, From Home, etc.
Oh, by the way, their are 23 members in NCT, and that includes the members in WayV. So please give a shout out to Taeyong for being the best leader in Kpop. He deserves a medal for doing that job.🏅

I did recommend this song (and probably some other NCTzens). I said TAEYONG spits rap in this.
NCT’s Japanese tracks always slaps, and great to see how easy you jam to CHAIN. It has a unique, complicated beat and sound that isn’t followed easily by everyone (similar to their subsequent Japanese release WAKEY WAKEY and also PUNCH, Kick It’s sequel which was among the hardest to follow and required multiple listens even for fans who are familiar with their sound).
Regarding your question about the song: CHAIN was their second Japanese single after LIMITLESS (which MV was also released in Japanese version in case you haven’t seen it, and it’s completely different aesthetic and feel compared to the Korean version which I believe you already reacted to). Their spread of music to serve the Japanese fans was celebrated and signified by the “From Seoul” and “To Tokyo” written on their faces (just like the beginning of the lyrics: let go let grow let spread out, like a water drop ripple out in waves...from here on the chain begins: Chain! Reaction...rhythm, beat, melody, we make you so crazy...).
As per their mission, they are certainly promoting not just their music but kpop as a whole to bring happiness to the whole world (and working hard at it, with a new Japanese release coming out in two weeks time and also a new sub-unit debuting soon, among others).

it's so funny because I've never encountered people who had trouble differentiating Taeyong and Mark lol they look very different and have VERY different rap styles. If it helps, Taeyong usually gets those super fast verses, doing triplets and stuff. His raps tend to sound more "slurred" for lack of better word. Mark can rap fast too of course, but his usually sound a lot more clear and enunciated. Mark also tends to have a bit more English in his verse and the English is a lot more fluent because that's his native language. And yeah, Ten is not in NCT 127 at all lol he's only in WayV and some NCT U tracks.

Being a fan of just Korean music in general is such a great journey. But i gotta be honest, I always find myself coming back to NCT, specifically 127. There’s always something new and surprising each time with them.
