I just did another detail strip on my mil spec 1911 yesterday. Always nice to review when things are fresh in your mind. You provided a couple of tips that will make my next field strip even easier. All of your videos are straight forward without excess verbage. Absolutely one of the best I have seen.

This is the best done video by a mile. Its exactly what I do when taking my 1911 apart and back together and is a great refresher if I haven't d one it in a while. Well done here.

I wonder how many 1911s will end up in a box in pieces in the back of a drawer. Waiting to be put back together 😫😱🤯

WOW! There are some 'resources' out there that totally missed the center position of the safety to get it out or in!

I am finding it very difficult to install the fire control lever and mainspring housing.

My father taught me to always reinsert the hammer before reinserting the sear and disconnector. He said that to do this in the opposite order can cause damage to the sear.

That sear spring bend is the trademark of someone who does not know how to properly tune a 1911. And it's potentially dangerous as having the sear reset leaf bent back can cause the sear not to reset, in turn making that pistol full auto. Builders do it because it's a short cut to having a good trigger reset with the heavier bend on the disconnector, without actually doing the polishing needed.

I'm sure one of the worlds premier 1911 builders doesn't know what he's doing, especially on his own carry gun.
