My favorite was the CL-9000 double bunk with the 425-CAT and the 13 speed fuller Eaton transmission...little bit of a stretched frame and dual smoke poles with the rainy day caps and dual long horns
what a great video pity it didnt last for 20 mins , lovely restored Ford LTL 9000 with a Cat purring her way through the revs and gears , fine trailer carrying the Volvo , many thanks for the video more please , greetings from ireland
That's a good looking Louisville Ford 9000, and sounds great too. The very first cab I drove coming out of the service was a 1977 LTL 9000 with a Detroit 8V92 under the hood and a 5×4 on the floor, straight pipes no muffler. Ran liked a raped ape and screamed like a banshee, but when I pulled a hill, I shifted more than a Cover 0 Defense...
thing of beauty,,in my hood we got Garside floating equipment over these no clearance humps,, momentarily the wheels ain't carrying the load,,guy makes it look effortless.
Sadly though this new generation of truckers (or steering wheel holders) lol will never get a chance to enjoy the glory of driving one of these Titan Ford's as everything is being made all automatic and technical crap
Ltls.... everybody wants a pete or kw, but this truck ranks right up there with them classic..
LTL is the better truck!!
Glad to know I’m not the only Ford enthusiast!!! The ltl in my opinion was one of the most classic trucks you could get!
It was Ford LTL and Mack dump trucks where I grew up

I agree, nothing better than a LTL, A BIG 425-475 CAT and a 18 spd
I miss mine. We had four LTLs, all with 3406 Cats. Work all day and night. Keep em maintained and they'll keep working.
Thanks for the memories.
LTL 9000 still one of the best lookin trucks out there
@@timhaslett1883 I just bought one myself. I gotta agree
Ford LTL 9000, one of the best, most stylish trucks of all time. My all time favorite truck. Still looks great even now.
Ford trucks are 2 story Falcons! Peterbilt and Kenworth rule! The Volvo hauling was a truck!
@@oldmanfromoc7684 two story falcon?

Between this LTL, and another float company in the area that still runs a pair of Superliner Mack's, theres some good truck watching in the GTA...
My dad owned a ltl9000 back in the 80s he says it cost him nothing but money to keep running
Fuck that's sweet buddy.
Do you have more video of this truck? I love those old LTL's!!!!

Incredible truck, sounds like a 3408 Cat ?
It's a detach lowboy......a float is an oilfield HD flat with no dolly's that gets winched onto the fifth wheel
At least in OH,PA,WVA,KY,NY
8v92 ?
Bit over kill for that dump truck ......only in America lol
What the hell is a float tractor?
I think overseas they call a trailer a float maybe
Sounds like a b-model
