@@grinm1899 yeah I know, even as a native speaker that one confused me. It's about how miners would carry caged birds, like canaries, into the mine with them to use as a warning system for environmental hazards. If there were areas with dangerous gasses, like carbon monoxide, or areas with low oxygen, the canary would die first, showing that the area wasn't safe to be in.

This might get lost in the comments but I just wanted to say thank you so much for posting all of these. @@kevsegg Oh yeah, I definitely am! I really appreciate you checking in on someone after so long, that's really kind and compassionate. I hope you're doing okay too! :)
you know, i've been waiting for it but have never heard anyone make the obvious Monty Python reference with someone (especially a dead bird) pining for a Fjord.
"is that where 'the brave' comes from, that was gonna be my question" (Laura says the same thing) in reference to Nott being afraid to go in the mine, then getting drunk and being more than willing to go in.
Watching this makes me sad at how they had to seperate for covid. Everyone was able to be close and bounced off one another literally and metaphorically. Glad they're back together in C3.

Making a bunch of puns on the Ford car brand and its various models (Ford Expedition, Ford Explorer, Ford Escape, etc.), and how Fjord’s name is pronounced the same way. “Canary in a gnoll mine” is a pun on “canary in a coal mine,” which was a warning sign that miners would know to leave the mines quickly. If there was a dangerous gas buildup, it would kill the canary well before killing the miners.
"Canary in a gnoll mine" is a 10/10-pun
What is that a pun of exactly? I genuinely don't know.
Bronzeolini Is not funny
My guess is wordplay on "Canary in a coal mine"

@@grinm1899 Just saying, "Olof Nilsson" writing this comment is certainly Swedish.
Travis after Sam's puns: "I . . . Would . . . Like . . . To . . . Rage."
I haven't seen Travis look that murderous since the infamous Chub of '15
Travis: [obligatory McCreedy reference]
Matt: *simply picks up dice*
Travis: [Kill Bill Sirens]
The name was Jesse McCree (any similarities with that jerk of a Blizzard employee are purely coincidental and I refuse to believe otherwise).
When its travis's birthday, are they gonna have a fjord fiesta?
If he gets distracted, they tell Fjord to Focus
thank you for making me undesrtand that they where talking about cars xD
The fjorbidden words
Travis's casual, "High Noon?" 1:44
After Matt says Yes, Travis is like, -I didn't think that through, but it was worth it.-
Matt: “I feel like I passed a Stone”. Intentional or not that is hilarious knowing what we know now 😂.
So he passed a Stone during that Fjord Expedition.
*slow clap* well played
Oh, DAMN, if that was the intent that's amazing
Nice catch Haha xD
And what do we know now?
There are so many Ford puns that haven't been explored yet.
There will be a fiesta each time
Sam needs to focus more on it.
May have to send a Courier since they're out on Expedition.
if Fjord shows off, would that be a Fjord Flex?
Let's say he's lucky he didn't Multiclass into ranger
I'm surprised they haven't polymorphed him into a bull, a Fjord Taurus
Matt's slight eyebrow raise as he picks up the dice is the definition of "you wanna go!?"
if he uses his "full metal alchemist" voice - would he be a Fjord Mustang?
YES!
What hasn’t anyone made that reference in any of the campaign 2??
@@8440k Liam did in the first episodes when Travis asked if one of the horses they saw was a mustang and Liam replied under his breath "is it's name Roy?"
Travis does that himself by asking if the horse is a mustang
If Travis has to make a concentration check would that be a Fjord Focus?
I thought the falcon was the Fjord Focus
If he was protecting someone, he’d be a Fjord Escort.
was this the start of the Beau and Caleb hand on shoulder thing? because that's adorable
the first of many beau/caleb shoulder holds. i love looking back on early m9 this is so GOOD

*grabs dice for a random encounter*
Get your character sheet! 😈🤦🏼♂️
Booooo!
I love how they start giggling after Travis says "High Noon"
I'm still kinda mad that, as far as I know, no one ever said the words "Fjord, focus!" during the campaign
Im almost positive sam made a "fjord, focus" joke at least once
@@Wanderingsocks guess it's time to go deep dive into the transcripts to find that 😁
I was pretty sure there was at least one more that this video didn't include.

I'm going through cr withdrawal and your content helps a whole lot!
Liam: BEHOLDER!!!!
Tal: Wait for it...
Are we all just going to ignore Sweet innocent Jester telling Beau to tickle Caleb's balls?
Yes its such a great Jester thing to say. Sweet, softening Beaus aggression, and yet completely off the hook :D
Sweet? Yes. Innocent? Not really.
"Innocent" Did you watch a single episode?
this is what physic damage means
Jjoosshh C “psychic”....physic damage would be like a rock falling on your head.
Thank you for uploading a best of, of the early episodes, really appreciated!
Marisha's eyes when Nott agrees to go in first. That had my busting up.
Upset that nobody said the sparrow would be a Squawky-Talkie.

I love the outro music. It kind of feels nostalgic
Matt is fighting the urge to drop Fjord with a boulder
Could you please do a supercut of Matt Mercer's mannerisms (mercerisms?) "(location) proper", "find purchase", "toothy maw" etc.?
What does Marisha day when Nott becomes intoxicated? It’s hard to understand. At like 4:02.
