@@PK-vd3vo Ignore him, he's an idiot. That is my absolute favorite song by them and it does indeed MESMERIZE me!! I can't get enough. So sad to have only discovered these guys a month ago!! Too bad they are long gone from the music scene!!
The recorded version is even better. It is an absolutely stunning song. I was already a fan when this came out and I don't know how many times I've listened to it and it never ever fades. It's stunning
This song. "As the heavens shudder baby, I belong to you!" I met my soulmate and this song just takes me back to him. 22 years later, we are still in contact but it wasn't to be.

Oh if only. I read somewhere that Paul Brindley, the bass player, said he and the drummer were well up for playing again if Harriett and Dave ever changed their mind. Apparently there were never personal issues between band members, disputes over money or any of that. They just can't be arsed dealing with all the extraneous stuff that goes with recording and touring.
Wow. I stumbled upon “blind” the album 2 months ago. It’s been on repeat ever since. I never even thought about looking the band up. I was so caught up with how beautiful the music was, i wanted to remember the lyrics and sing it forever. Seeing goodbye live is definitely an ASCENT.
Ditto!! I just discovered them a month ago and they electrify me. So sad they are no longer playing and even more so, completely blown away they have been around for 30+ years!!! WTH??!! How did I miss them??
Been a fan since their debut dropped. This song is anthemic for me. It's only now after a quarter of a century that I have finally put a face to that voice. And what a cute face it is, how fitting.
My god, the music was so much better in the 90s. Seriously, Taylor Swift can't hold a candle to Harriet Wheeler. Hearing music today is like listening to someone scratch a chalk board.
I think this song is my favorite musical performance by them. Really love the energy of that long interlude and the way it builds into the close. They are so good.
One of the songs that has an ending with a pleasant and beautiful atmosphere even though the lyrics are actually very somber. The atmosphere of the song makes me happy.
Oh my goodness this is amazing. I’ve always been a metal and hard rock fan. But The Sundays were always my all time favorite. Too bad I never got to see them live…
I'm just bowled over to read so many comments saying everything ive felt about this band, or putting some of it into words i couldn't find. Massive uplift to the spirits, so thanks everyone. Hopefully some day the band will see how much people have been moved by their work and it gives them the inspiration to give us all sone more ❤
I like most kinds of music, rock, prog, pop, indie, some country, etc. And out of all those thousands of bands this is my #1, even after 30+ years. Many thanks to the Sundays for the great joy their music has given me and so many others.
So good. I wish I’d have had the opportunity to see them live. One of my favorite songs! That they can reproduce the dreamy atmospherics of this track live is really impressive.
Her vocal "solo" starts about 2:35, and when you hear it, it's really awesome and so unlike moat anything. THIS IS SINGING, not just talking over music. Harriet and Dave combine to make something totally unique.
when woman in the music scene were wholesome with major talent.... harriet wheeler's voice is so pure...... her along with cristina scabbia and annie haslam.. my all time favorite female vocalist.
She is having to rise above the singularity of guitar solo…and she does consistently… I dont really think she should have to even though that is party to ‘the sundays’ creative process
So is this what it comes too? Am I cold or just a little bit warm? Oh well just give me an easy life and a peaceful death!! Yeah ah yeah yeah ah yeah ❤
2024 and I still miss The Sundays
This is one of the greatest songs ever recorded. Ever.
I saw them in 1992 in Seattle. I'm pretty sure every guy in there was mesmerized by Harriet Wheeler. And this is a woefully underrated song.

What, the, fuck. Where has this song been all my life. This puts me at a loss for words. 2:34, imagine being able to sing and make music like this
How old are you? Their first album came out in 1989.
I am 38 years old, the first time I heard this song was in 2011.

Fuck I miss the youth so much. 80s/90s had such good music.
golden edge of music!
I miss the same...
Proof God exists. Still sounds phenomenal a quarter century later.
Most flawless live vocalist ever
This was the last time they performed it too! Final gig. Final performance of Goodbye. I love this song recorded and live.
This song. "As the heavens shudder baby, I belong to you!" I met my soulmate and this song just takes me back to him. 22 years later, we are still in contact but it wasn't to be.
Love that line. The closing line "give me an easy life and a peaceful death" never fails to move me. Worthy of Morrissey, Dylan and all the greats.

Underrated guitar
awesome open E riffs no one else ever thought of, and drums debatably harder than the guitar track despite sounding so simple.
Im still here for the Sundays
