Magic beings make contact with humans. Humans make "lawyer" a D&D class. Aliens: We have more ships than you! Humans: We have more bullets than you have ships.
Love that first comment about lawyers becoming a D&D class. I knew that second story wasn’t going to go how the xeno admiral thought it was going to when he noted that the human ships were mostly ammunition storage. He should have suspected that he would get the opportunity to see a lot of that ammo close up real soon.
@@markfergerson2145 Seeing a lot of ammo up close is not a problem, when at rest. It's when those ammo are at high velocity and coming at you that you must worry. Well, here, it's the second case.

Well the humans and other races seem friendly. Maybe they just want regular relations with the Fae now. 2nd story: Smaller ships don't mean less deadly.
Not quite, that was a broadside. These are descendants of the Puff the magic Dragon, Spooky, Spectre, and Ghostrider gunships. That or wet navy battleships.
24 inch gatling guns. for comparison. the US built IOWA class battleships carry 9 16 inch x .50 caliber guns. we hit those aliens with MILLIONS. we unloaded enough firepower to literally erase a large planetoid possibly an earth like world with pure kinetics... just DAUM. we brought the crust crackers.
Three banks of 12 showers of 400 000 RPM, 24" or relativistic dakka on the way. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT !!! So, barely enough dakka.
This is true, but, think of all the money the space scrapers will make salvaging the wrecks. All kinds of lovely exotic alien alloys free for the taking.
@@Wastelandman7000 Given the size of all ships and their number, even at 0.1% of survival rate, that's still a huge amount of salvageable tech to be collected.

i can see the scene in the second story: after the 3 ship fire, an impossible number of metal pole flew to the flotilla, their shield held with difficulty against the first few but failed micro second later under the sheer number, mass and velocity of the 'arrow' X3
Silly Xenos keep thinking Earth = Dirt. Earth is everything in the ground where as Dirt is the specific dirt and only dirt. It's like thinking Fruit Salad = Pineapple. Sure fruit salad may have pineapples in them but that's not the only thing they have.
not only would the recoil, or equal and opposite reaction (according to wrinkle brain Newton dude), propel them out of the path of the incoming rounds, I don't think plasma shots could stop or even slow any incoming rounds kinetic, just superheat them, which could also be a problem... it affects the impact by making it more of a splash instead of a sudden hard thud, but that has its own ramifications, I would surmise. Kinda silly, but fun little story.
Considering that all happend in earths orbit, there isnt some private company to clean that up. There is going to be an underpaid space janitor, from the gouverment, that has to remove and melt down 2.000 super dreadnaught sized clouds of super hard steel. Truely a poor soul.
Story 1. Humans know of the Fay and of all of the species that the Fay had dealt with and say : Hello. Remember our little legal disagreement ? Story 2. Well, that's a LOT of space debris that we made here.
Just remember the USA made a giant gun and then build a plane around it to put it on the sky. The worse part is that it can only shoot for no kore than 3 seconds rounds or it will stop midair.
@@robertstoneking7916 well considering that a GAU8/A has a muzzle velocity of around Mach 3 (considerably faster than the speed of sound) if an A10 is firing on you.. you are shredded wheat LONG before you hear the BRRRRRRRRTTT... so in the future .. they never hear the BRRRRRRRRRTT before they get to visit their gods
Not quite Doom guy class. Took 3 of them and none of them were having fun. Well... ok... the majority of the ship which wasn't actually watching the guns spin up were not having fun.
@@Wastelandman7000 not long ago had listened to the doomguy story and the ship reminded me of the triple barrelled gatling gun where each barrel was triple barrelled lol.
Assuming 9000 years/2000 ships = 4 1/2 years of production, isn't too terrible but who knows how long their ships stay commissioned or how much of the fleet(s) have to protect against other species/Pirates that could still be a good chunk of "deployable ships". And the humans didn't even lose one ship.
2nd Story any Salvage hmm you might be lucky to find something bigger then a small boulder but even then it would have so many holes in it would it be even worth any thing?, Always love Gatling guns and 24 inch guns that's even bigger then the Yamato's 18 inch gun and those were considered the largest mounted on a boat.
a brief description for the second story: humanity remembers the ancient legendary hero plane, the A-10 and made its latest battleship apart of its illustrious family and so when its guns fire only liberaation is given........... the liberation from life.
400k rpm across 12 guns is 80,000 rounds per second. That's 400,000 rounds in 5 sexonds, not millions, and even if you assume its 12 guns per ship and not total, it would require a 100% hit rate to put 600 rounds on each target, which is ludicrously good for a space ship-sized target. Tl;dr never give your readers numbers.
First was fun ❤, Second just pathetic arrogance "to feel good" typical of the more base USA writer 🙄 And I'm just fed up by this kind. Thanks like always for the incredible work done 👍

The thing that the Grand Admiral should have given thought to, the percentage of mass allotted to ammunition storage.
Sci-Fi meets the A-10 Thunderbolt (Warthog). Poor aliens should have done their homework.

God loves the Gattling Gun.
I want to see someone in one of those games build that weaponry like the game "From the Depths)
Well, looks like the future still belongs to the GAU series, and, possibly, Grandpa Buff
And only humans would put naval gun sized GAU as the main armament. Human armament may be crude, but, there is no power like firepower.

he said brace for recoil, not impact 😁
3 ships x 30 thousand 600 mm shells... That volley probably had more mass than the entire alien fleet.
The way the human flotilla reversed despite all flank forward suggests that Albert's equations figured into the throw weight.

Humans know well that you don't bring a knife to a gunfight.
That depends on how many blades and the velocity of the launcher.
Well, if it took them 9000 years to build that fleet, they where doomed anyway.
Well, maybe their years are very short...
I think the author meant if they were built one at a time. As opposed to multiple ship yards working at once.
