Stock up on consumables such as apple, lemon, orange gel and life bottles, treats before a boss battle. It will help - a lot. I usually use orange gel to refill cp first before using the life gel such as apple.
I picked this up after losing my patience with Diablo 4, and it's a breath of fresh air. This experience is so polished and enjoyable that I literally didn't care when they fleeced me $6 to up the consumable cap. I appreciate the reminder of what a high quality game is like. A game without constant worrying about when the dev is gunna break the damn game next.
@@RubenRyb66 sorry, TH-cam rugs my notifications. d4 is basically just shallow as all hell. Every time the devs touch it, it gets worse. The end game is effectively: do these three things over and over, and if you're too efficient at em, we'll nerf you into the ground.
For people who likes to play magic, you can cast mid air artes immediately. It may not be fun for most people, but I played over half the game only playing as Rinwell, spamming Ice Cage after discovering it. Time it with Boost Attacks to recover AP so you can keep spamming nonstop.
Finally picked up this game over Christmas- and just reached the 3rd city. Remembered you had a lot of love for this game so, good to go back and check your tips out now I'm some way in 'too check I get it'
First time playing tales and looking forward to playing many more... The one thing i would say is finding best locations to grind xp the fights go long. At the beginning it was easier to find key items for crafting weapons now im in the fields find it harder.
Not sure fishing will make a lot of money. I made a million gald by grinding battles with soldiers who drop dog tags I sold. They drop also other items of high value that can be sold. Very early game, collect everything and sell the excess. You can only hold 99 of the same item. I sell the excess above 70.
I enjoyed Star Ocean 6 More. I love the fact you can destroy parts of enemies, I wish they had fishing like arise. But they have that awesome board game.
Paying attention to elemental effects/weaknesses enemies have are what I struggle with in rpgs. I’m slowly getting better with it though. I’m a kamikaze player lol That’s really cool that they add the friendship interactions in between battles and missions to break down the game. I love that in videogames! What game would be complete without a fishing mechanic? Haha Awesome! Im glad there’s plenty of collectibles and loot/ money options. That’s sort of my thing. I love exploring and collecting resources in rpgs. I’ll grind for literal days! Haha I can sometimes make a 15-20 hour game become 30-40 just because I’m exploring haha Thanks for sharing your tips and thoughts my friend! Always appreciate your thoughts!
Haha see! You get it, it's all about getting your monies worth lol. Thanks so much for watching dude and I'm happy you enjoyed the video! I'd legit love to hear what ya think if you ever play this one!
You can check the specific weaknesses of opponents during battle by holding down the targeting button and after battle in the field guides enemies section. Most areas are going to have the same element of enemies so you don't even need to change around that much.
Much easier to mystic arte than it was back in Symphonia days, think I've only ever done Lloyd's like twice Wouldn't even surprise me if folks didn't know Symphonia had mystic artes given the often convoluted requirements to activate
Fishing is a great way to farm money early in the game? Oh lord…. I’m 25 hours in and haven’t unlocked fishing yet.. your telling me I’m not even in the early game?
@@NFSandMCVideos im 30 years old and just bought my first ipad, not wanting someone to talk slower than a snail on shrooms doesnt make you an ipad kid..
This game and video is a year old so I know I’m a bit late but… Fire is gonna beat ice (water) Ice(water0 is gonna beat fire….earth beats wind, wind beats earth, dar beats light and light beats dark” Wtf? How does that even make sense?
I almost love this game. Put 60hrs in and turned it off. The skits are unbearable. Yes I know I could've skipped them, but constantly seeing that prompt on the bottom right of the screen just wouldn't let me ignore them. They're such a constant momentum killer, in my opinion. It's a shame because everything else in the game was awesome. If there's going to be that much dialog then there needs to be dialog options and interactivity. But nooo, because JRPG. Just my 2 cents.
What a stupid opinion this is... You can just ignore them. In fact, the game encourages you to ignore them by telling you in the first act of the game that you can watch them at a campsite. The game essentially encourages you to just let them collect while you're out exploring and clearing areas / dungeons and then just watch them all at once next time you rest. Even then, you can skip them with a single button. You "love" the entire game except for this one minor mechanic that the game gives you a plethora of options to skip / ignore?!
Aw man its the opposite for me. If they were poorly voice acted in both jp and eng I could see it being annoying. Though I guess every characters "frustrated sigh" noise at the end of a conversation could be a meme for this game lol. At least with the eng audio on.
I don't recall the game ever telling you that you can activate Mystic Arts by completing 5 artes in a row with no repetitions and then holding two face buttons. There is no tutorial that indicates that in the game. The player is left essentially in the dark about how / why over-limit states are entered. One can presume it's based on damage done or taken (and it is) but there are other caveats. 11:37 is precisely the type of tip you're saying you wished this video had.
@@HallowedBeThyGame I'll be honest. I wasn't looking for an argument. I'm just saying. That's like if I tell you "Play the game because it'll help you progress.". There's no secret there.

This game made me spent 10 hrs just fishing. Its that good.
It's a pain in the butt until you've caught 10 different kinds of fish. Then it becomes a cakewalk.

Is fishing a mandatory part of the game?
I think outside of a tutorial it isn't mandatory for story progression.
