If you’re talking about the costumes/equipment. In the main menu there’s equipment (armor icon) and costumes (top hat icon). The former effects a character’s stats while the latter only changes the look of a character. All you need to do is equip any armor you like for those stat boosts in the equipment menu. Then head to the costume menu to change a character’s appearance. If theres a costume equipped, hit the remove button. That will leave the character with only their equipment appearance. There’s no need to uninstall any of the bonuses. Hope this helps. :D

Love the vid...... but can we sometimes get a translation for buttons on Series X 😂😂😂. Looking for "square" on an Xbox controller is a bit difficult. (Joking). Keep up the great vids bro.
There is, it just separates the attack/combo part from the swapping characters part. Basically during battle each character has a meter that fills up and when it's full you can tell that character to do a special attack that will extend combos, refill some of your arte gauge, and each character has a special effect that's unique to their attack. For example, Kisara stops enemy charges and boosts party defense while Rinwell can stop enemies casting and steal their spells. You can do it with any character whether they're actively in combat or not, the ones who aren't currently active will do their move then jump back out of combat. You can swap characters during combat in the menu, but it just changes who's active without any special attack related to it. Basically it's Berseria's switch blasts but better.
@@ansalem12 in Berseria you could switch characters without an attack involved by holding guard and pressing the appropriate switch direction. In this game you can switch active party members without opening the menu. This has been discovered since the demo came out. Why do you people misinform others without looking stuff up.
@@PSNMirru I wasn't intending to be misleading, I just didn't think it was important to explain every detail of each game's systems just to get across the fact that it has similar systems to Berseria but different in some ways. The things I said are true, I just didn't explain all the intricacies of each game. Maybe I made a bad decision, but I didn't need to look anything up. I'm well aware of how each of the games work. But the question was whether or not there are switch blasts in Arise, and I didn't think writing a detailed tutorial of how combat switching works in each game would be necessary to answer the question.
@@ansalem12 so instead you go off on a tangent instead of answering his question with a simple yes or no? I didn’t ask you to give an intricate answer I simply stated you were wrong and you can switch on the fly without opening the menu. So what are you getting at? Could someone go over the preorder and deluxe edition bonuses for me? I can't find a description of what the "Premium Item Pack" and "Premium Travel Pack" actually have in them any page where the purchase is listed (Steam/GMG/etc). Is it just consumables and cooking stuff or is it something else?
@@lunebadru5997 Well for the ultimate edition there are also costumes. I don't really care about that so it's not missing out for me, but if you do care about costumes you might feel like you're missing out. The deluxe edition comes with the preorder bonus costumes and I guess an item and cooking ingredient pack which I don't really see the need for. Certainly not worth the extra $25.

@@mookiestewart3776 Wow no shit an rpg has grind but when you make it overly excessive and it takes 5 hrs to gain 1 level but you can buy levels thats the problem
Back in my day, we didn't complain about grinding for 5 hours for one level, because that was our only option. Micro transactions that affect your actual gameplay/stats, etc are one of the single worst things to happen to video games. Ever
The combat in general is so backwards compared to Berseria. I'm now afraid to use auto mode because my ai seems dumb af. I can't even set up each character exactly how I want them to play.
Why would you play on auto mode, unless you're backtracking through an area or farming or something, in which case, does it matter that much unless you're dying constantly? Idk I'm just starting out but I'm not new to RPGs or JRPGs but maybe I'm missing something
@@Zakhar597 it sucks you have to revive the ai nonstop because they are too dumb to react. The developers did terrible programming. You can't play as all 4 characters at the same time. That's why you have to optimize their combat so they'd be effective in battle.
That's a hard question to answer. Arise is slightly more accessible in how it works and the gameplay is faster, and the game heavily promotes using all the characters instead of just the protag through how the mechanics work, but it's still fundamentally the same character based run around and combo things until they die system. I don't know what you didn't like about it. The break system is much simpler in arise and that could be what you didn't like because berseria did rely on that too damn much. Arise is actually pretty good about not over relying on it's gimmicks. That's been a problem with tales for the last like 4 games, but arise is layered in a way where nothing is straight up a mandatory way to play. Like I like it better than berseria and it's just miles better than zesteria, which just was straight ass, but if you fundamentally dont like what the battle system is, then you're still not going to like this. It's definitely smoother and more accessible than berseria, but you can look at it, it's still essentially building on that system
@@harrisonmakris1376 my main problem is that I felt no “impact” with the combat in berseria. I never understood what the flow was supposed to be. I could just button mash until everything died. Combat I like in games: red dead 2, bayonetta, nier automata, DmC, god of war 1-4 Combat I Hate: tales of berseria, souls games,
@@Kingsnax12 Arise is a little better. Basically you can mash until things die, unless it's a boss. Arise plays out more like a fighting game where your rewarded for consistent combos with what is essentially a burst damage special move for free. The way character boosts work in arise is literally the exact same as marvel vs Capcom. The difference is it's not a fighting game. You can't cancel anything so mashing just gets you smacked and you cant combo infinitely (kinda, but especially at the beginning) because there is a recovery period at the end of a characters string. The way around that is obviously to use an assist, which fills the gauge so you can use your specials to cover your recovery then repeat til you run out of assists, but certain assists help with specific enemies like flying, shield, charging, magic, so maybe it's better to save them instead. Each character also has a gimmick they get to play with on top of that and generally does well against a specific enemy type, but it's not necessary to switch if you don't want to.. It's actually a really involved system that plays out well, but only on the hard difficulty. On anything less, it's probably kinda wack because you don't need to do any of that
@@harrisonmakris1376 firstly I wanna say thank you for this in depth break down of the combat I really appreciate it and it sounds really good. I’m gonna get this game but imma wait for a steam sale when it’s about 30-40 bucks.
I dont get why they have made combat worse than Tales of Barseria... And whats up with there being like 5 different monsters in the game that they only change the colour and name of? AI settings are so simplified and not character specific... The Story as far i i have come is really dull and forced... Really dissapointed in this Tales game :( Skits are way better than the older games though. The Graphics is ok but nothing fancy. All in all i would place this Tales game somewhere on the lower half on a Tales "best to Worst" list.
Then you would be doing it wrong 😂😂. I jest. It just seem like most JRPGs release on PS only. I think of Xbox more as a "western" console and the Playstations as more "eastern".
A load screen every 10 feet. A convoluted broken map system. I spend more time trying to find a location to a quest or side quest than it takes to do that quest. This game is a rage inducing mess.
This game has a bunch of weird issues. The waypoint is annoying….map annoying….the combat system is unnecessarily deep and over complicated….a lot of overcomplicated systems…my first jrpg…western games are much more user friendly.
That's... generally, what games of this genre are like 😂😂. It's a JRPG. It's like an anime but as a video game. Have you never played other games in the genre?
Do you have any tips for new players??

First lord was rough because I AI wasn't dodging and then I wasn't dodging well either lol, but otherwise I've been able to handle it fine, so I may go up to Hard.
@@mrbastos Hards a lot of fun because it actually does make you pay more attention to the gimmicks of each character. I just got rinwell and trying to figure her out on hard is a lot of fun because she doesn't really make any sense, once you figure out how to combo with her, if there's any art using character on screen she's OP as hell. She just is a straight nuke. I really like how each character seems to have their own specialty so it makes you want to switch to them
Yes heal manually, even with many artes disabled the AI has a habbit of not healing when required.
Thanks for this! Just downloaded this last night and have only played about an hour. New sub too!
I love how im 40 hrs in and only half way through. Fantasric game when the story is as long as it is. Worth money.
Don't know when you surpassed 1M subs but congrats bro, and thanks for the info with the vid!
Thanks for covering this! Can’t wait to dive in.
Pre order downloaded and ready to goooo!!!!!
Me too. Waiting for Steam to unlock it.
Thanks just started playing today.
18 hours into the game, halfway through the 3rd city and just got Kisara joining me. Have to say Kisara's mechanic is fun and challenging since dodge is replaced with shield
I'm a fairly OCD Completionist. Exploring every single nook and cranny of the map is what I live for! 😂😆😎 Edit: Side Note - Really wish more Tales games were ported to Xbox... One can dream! Lol. 😁
Does the main character finally dethrone, Yuri "Mofoking" Lowell, as the best main character in the series? Thats all I wanna know y'all.
No 😔
No but Alphen is cool. Velvet is still second to Yuri tho lol
@@PSNMirru No Velvet is my #1, along with the best support character ever Magilou. Yuri is cool but he just comes off as a pompous ashole to me.
@@lordroyaltee Shinon is basically Velvet on Xanax. I like Alphen, but honestly so far he's just there to push shinons development. I feel like this is a ffx situation and shinons the real main character and Alphen is just the shonen view point guy. At least so far
@@harrisonmakris1376 I understand that feeling with Alphen and Shionne. I do like them both as characters. At least Alphen is less so viewpoint heavy as Tidus, more as a foil for Shionne. I think i used that word right lol
Can't wait for tomorrow to play this
I hope that I can unlock new members early in story. Masked one and gun girl dont look very original. Why every review main them, when there is a shield and pole-stick?. Visuals are fine but I need some non sparcly combos to actualy jujdge how character plays.
Very helpful and nicely presented. Thanks!
...and they'll be active in comb-bat. I love that
I started the tales of series with tales of graces f can’t wait to pick up my copy tomorrow couldn’t on day or release even though I preordered been working constantly
I’m pretty annoyed that Bandai have delays for the collectors edition, but luckily they had the common sense to send out free digital download codes to people so we can play while we wait on the collectors edition to come.
The email stated with the pandemic happening, there were delays. XD im glad i get to play day 1.
Okay the first function is basically like sword art online Alicezation licorice because they are in a 4 man party and you basically switch characters the same way while in battle
Thank you. I shall find you a nice Christmas Ham for this.
12 hours to go till I can play Tales of Arise can't wait to play it

What difficulty do you recommend playing on? I have played a couple of the tales games so I was thinking on raising the difficulty.
Same
1 under the hardest I'm going for. Moderate I think it is!
from what i've heard, it's apparently pretty easy on normal so playing on anything higher than normal would be good. though it might be best to stick with normal then increase it once you get a feel for the difficulty and systems.
At the very least moderate if you don't want it to be too easy, I'm a few hours in on hard and still having no issues.
It’s forgiving for the most part but the later half is challenging
100 percent the game , my first JRPG loved it.
Newbie. Is it worth it and what’s reply value like? I’m starting to think games like this are more fun then call of duty and battlefield. I don’t care for story much just fun gameplay and exploring and leaving up
The replay value on takes games is always really good ,
Kind of a staple of the series
You can also change to the other party members without even going into a menu
I also mean for moving character that aren’t in the main party can be added to the main party without needing a menu
Also the 9th thing you need to know is the game does not work with controllers mostly you can mess with big picture mode and stuff on steam but most controllers if not all dont work from all the reviews on the games steam page.
What are you talking about, it works fine.
@@Jujuwhat People had controller problems on day 1 I guess its fixed now and my comments outdated.
Im so excited
how do i see the armor i buy or find?i have a costume armor equiped an no matter what i do its always the costume look.i cant unequip the costume .I even deleted the pre order pack an the game.just installed the game an couldnt play where i left off cause it made me re intall the pre order
@@GcorpCoPrez wish I could send a picture to show I have no remove button for costumes. Its funny though cause I have a remove button for attachments an weapon skin
I want to play this game but I have all tales games in Steam bought on sale and haven't finish one of them. So I'll wait on sale
This game looks gorgeous
I'll trade you. You gave me some Tales tips, I'll give you some synonyms for _daunting_ : deterring, intimidating, discouraging, horrifying, disheartening.
I look forward to this being my first Tales game; it looks so gorgeous! I bet the art really pops after 🍄
So does anyone else have the issue where hair cosmetics just don’t show during cutscenes for Alphen? Or will it fix itself when the mask is fully gone since that is a story thing.
Tip there is one missable owl in the game.
Nope, it gets washed ashore 👌🏻
The game will launch on steam in 5 hours
Whoever made the idea of missable quests and many other missable things are bound to hell.
HELP!!!!! All of my characters are only hitting for one damage and I don’t know how to fix it!
Love the vid...... but can we sometimes get a translation for buttons on Series X 😂😂😂. Looking for "square" on an Xbox controller is a bit difficult. (Joking).
Keep up the great vids bro.
there is no switch blast like in Berseria? To change support character on the fly and extend combos? That was the best :(
There is, it just separates the attack/combo part from the swapping characters part.
Yeah tales of bersaria is awesome still would go back and replay it
@@ansalem12 in Berseria you could switch characters without an attack involved by holding guard and pressing the appropriate switch direction.
You started breaking down Boost Strikes when all the person wanted to know is if it’s possible to switch on the fly like the switch blast from Berseria

In the Artes screen what does the Square box (with the sword icon) signify? Some Artes have it, others don't.
Martial arte; arcane arte
Those artes usually require more than one AG. (The blue rhombus shapes that dictate how many artes you can use in one combo)

Consumables.

Ok i was worried i was missing out on something by not splurging and spending 109 dollars
Guys what does level artes do? I have a 4 star arte that they have used a lot but don’t see any difference?
The arte gets stronger, that's all.
I wanted to play this with my wife but sadly they removed that feature.
Does this game have quick save
It has autosave
And you can also manually save as well
Is there a manual save option? This is one thing that has kept me away from JRPGS.
Yes
Most jrpgs have manual save these games are normally very long and can't rely only on auto save.
@Ji H That's what I wanna know, wth.
4m in to this and telling ever one what will know and 1m in the video i was not paying no mind to what you was talking about as well as really people can pick this up with out worry unless do not know how to play games lol

Seems to be around 8.5 / 10 based on reviews thus far.
why do I always get these videos after I've played the game😭
I know nothing about the previous games, is this new game connected?? Do I need to know general information about the world of the game to fully understand everything?? Or is more like a final fantasy with no strong connections between each game??? 🤔🤔🤔
Tales of Arise is an independent story. This is a GREAT time to get into the series!
This game for me is an 8/10 had it been open world i would have been a 10 but that is just my personal preference still this game is freaking good
Is the game multiplayer?
Local co op? No sadly.
All you need to know is THIS GAME IS SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK.
dont forget to but all the DLC so you can actually play the game without having to grind for 100 hrs
I don’t get why people complain about grinding lol. It’s a damn jrpg……….grinding is part of the game
@@mookiestewart3776 Wow no shit an rpg has grind but when you make it overly excessive and it takes 5 hrs to gain 1 level but you can buy levels thats the problem
The problem is actually micro transactions in all forms, and are one of the absolute worst things about the gaming industry these days.
Back in my day, we didn't complain about grinding for 5 hours for one level, because that was our only option. Micro transactions that affect your actual gameplay/stats, etc are one of the single worst things to happen to video games. Ever
Yo
Do enemies drop loot?
Not really... More like you get rewards for each battle.
@mad0813 so, yes 😂😂. The game loterally tells you what each monster drops when you kill them
You speak too quickly, guy, but other than that very informative
The first thing you need to know is, you still can't buy a ps5 anywhere
I'm over it
As a person who wants to like tales of games but just hated and I mean HATED the combat and berseria is this games combat more or less the same.
Combat I like in games: red dead 2, bayonetta, nier automata, DmC, god of war 1-4
Combat I Hate: tales of berseria, souls games,
@@Kingsnax12 Arise is a little better.
The best game was tales of graces f
1st - change voice language to original.
Is good in android phones???
I dont get why they have made combat worse than Tales of Barseria... And whats up with there being like 5 different monsters in the game that they only change the colour and name of? AI settings are so simplified and not character specific... The Story as far i i have come is really dull and forced... Really dissapointed in this Tales game :( Skits are way better than the older games though. The Graphics is ok but nothing fancy. All in all i would place this Tales game somewhere on the lower half on a Tales "best to Worst" list.
I am offended you always put your controls in PlayStation format, sigh.
Some of us (a lot of us) play on Xbox!
Then you would be doing it wrong 😂😂. I jest. It just seem like most JRPGs release on PS only. I think of Xbox more as a "western" console and the Playstations as more "eastern".
I hate this... why has MY game not become playable -_-.
Played alot of the earlier tales games. While not bad they are pretty mediocre jrpgs. Might give this a shot tho when the price comes down.
A load screen every 10 feet. A convoluted broken map system. I spend more time trying to find a location to a quest or side quest than it takes to do that quest. This game is a rage inducing mess.
Are u sure? Another boring generic game
This game has a bunch of weird issues. The waypoint is annoying….map annoying….the combat system is unnecessarily deep and over complicated….a lot of overcomplicated systems…my first jrpg…western games are much more user friendly.
Combat is typical JRPG - they're all like that. Don't forget, these games are mainly for the Japanese market - it's a different culture to the west.
That its an awful waste of money wasn’t one the things.
I dont like the cartoon look and backgrounds of this game
That's... generally, what games of this genre are like 😂😂. It's a JRPG. It's like an anime but as a video game. Have you never played other games in the genre?
You font need to know everything tbh game pracitcly play it self and there is almost no settings aswell
