Boozhoo, Sabé Indigenekaz, Migizi Dodem, Boise Indingeba. My family name, Ogemageshig. Chief Sky. The man who traded an eagle for a sack of corn. Abe the Eagle, the War Bird, and the mascot for the 101st Airborne Division. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, information, and wisdom. Gitchii Miigwich brother. I'm learning our language. My mom was a boarding school survivor, so that was lost in the deliberate agenda for depopulation and genocide of the First Nations People around the world! Ah Ho.

The image of the Mishepeshu pictograph as found in Lake Superior provincial park can be seen in the night sky; the horned head in our constellation Cassiopeia and the arched back is the arch in the constellation Perseus. It is overhead after dark in the early part of November with those gales at that time of year. The pictograph is painted with soft hematite iron ore (red ochre) and is the oldest mineral mined by humans, specifically for painting.

Kitchi miigwech - I am sooo grateful for you to share this. I really appreciate being able to hear these stories and teachings, even if it's through social media. It still resonates. Live would be beautiful but not always possible.

Kitche Miigwetch!! I knew ghizig was the sky and the word Ghizhik was cedar, and I asked an elder about that, and he said there was just a slight difference in the way it was pronounced but two different words, but I understand the dialects and cedar can be spelled either way but also meant sky or cedar and that also made no sense to me! OMG thank you for clearing this up. I will share this teaching! Na'haaw!! kitche-bizaanide`ewin!!

The Crown aka Corona Borealis easily corresponds with the crown of wisdom of the 7 grandfathers. Crown upon the mind of the ruler king. So different yet similar in what it conveys. As a summer constellation we might also say it parallels growth.

My first Sabé I saw was the same year that I seen a fantastic UFO and 2 ghost. The UFO was 100+ yards long and about 75 yards wide, oblong, silver skinned craft glowing an orange red color. 2-3 stories tall. Windows and other odd shapes in the sides. The 2 ghost floated from the hallway of the bedrooms across the living room to the kitchen on the other side. I was on the hideabed couch with my mom. I woke her up excited as Xmas morning, about what I saw. I woman in a bonnet and in 18th Century clothes, carrying a child wearing long white pajamas. They were like a see through colored mist/fog/dust of blue, white, and pink. Mottled and nothing solid in color. White bonnet. Grey dress. Couldn't see her face, as it was hidden from sight, and the bonnet blocked my view.
My First sighting of one of the Sabé/Sasquatch/Bigfoot/Skookum/Yeren/Yowie/Almasty/Woodwose/Grass man/Wood booger/Etc......people's, was approximately 1976, Canyon City Oregon, 207 Main St. House has been empty for years now. I was playing outside by myself and my step brother Terry was under the hood of the Chevy truck, parked just out front. I was going inside and just something odd that I stopped and turned to look up to the hill across the street. There's currently a trailer house where there was a trail to the hill top and beyond. A woman was standing there at the top of the hill on the trail and a clear view through the stand of Aspen tree's. Her hair a dark reddish brown, backlit by the evening sun. As I tried to make out who it was, I noticed that the silhouette was surrounded by the same, dark reddish brown hair. Soft and dry like a human. I thought it was at first. After about a minute or so of watching it, it turned clockwise, and started to walk off up the trail. I ran into the house, yelling that "I just saw a Bigfoot!" repeatedly 5-10 times. I was just so dang excited and happy as a lottery winner. Just months before, I was peeing at a random pullout along the highway from Eugene to Canyon City Oregon. When I looked down and seen a Sasquatch track. I stopped and zipped up and shoved my mom over in the front seat. I said, "Let's get the Hell outta here!" My mom, scared, asked what was wrong. I told her. She got excited about it and wanted to see. So, Terry, my step brother, and my mom, and I got out to check them out. She told me that I didn't have anything to be afraid of. 10 men's size shoe, inline tracks crossing the highway. Rainforest type area of the Cascades. Black sand on the side of the road was a gorgeous footprint and the others were in the soft soil and grass, before they went back into the forest. Since then, I feel as others have spoken of, protected by the Sabé people. They somehow mark you or tag you. I believe, like our Ancestors have known, they are in 2 world's. Ours and the Spirit World.
I've spent years hunting. As an Indian, I feel like the utmost failure, because of never ever filling my hunting tags! Yet, my wisdom and knowledge tells me that I have a gift from my friends. So, I have accepted my gift and parted ways with my guns and my bows. I must live in peace and love, I want to live in peace and love, I want others to do the same.
I've seen one in Idaho 2009, one in Oregon 2019, on a canyon edge, as I was on my way to the psych hospital (3rd time). My wife at the time, couldn't deal with the depression in me. She told me she wanted a divorce. Minutes later, I see a black silhouette against the rusty reds and Brown's with a splash of grey from the sage brush. Well, as we neared, it dropped straight down, as Sabé does, and hid in a big clump of sagebrush. As we drove by, I could see it peeking over the top of the brush. We turned around and went back, but it was gone. A sign, yes, I took to mean, be strong, be honest, stay brave, and never give up. I've been roommates with her for the past 2 years. I've saved her life 4-5 times over the past 14 years and have been her caregiver and friend. Since we were married but she's getting more and more independent and happy. We had a family of 4 come into our campsite and walk all around us. I slept like a baby and she woke up because she heard them walking around. Lol. I've heard single to three different Sabé, tree knocking around 2-3 AM. Paralleled me in Winterport Maine, 1989. Rocks thrown and slamming a boulder once in 2010 in Idaho. I believe, when I did hunt in the area, they weren't happy about it. I felt them. I felt that uneasy, something is wrong, anxiety. After starting to pack up, the slamming of one of the neighboring camping spots, was picked up and slammed, approximately 30 feet away, and the thud was powerful and heavy, and even shook the ground, as I felt the vibration in my feet. The prior year at the end of October, was no problem, and he was just checking us out. Looking like a bear on all 4s walking back and forth between the foliage was an opening so he had a great view of us sitting and bullshitting at the fire. I thought it was a bear at first but I didn't bother panicking. Closest a bear has ever come to my camp. 100 yards was the closest and that's when I lived next to Exit River, in a tent, outside of Seward Alaska. I pretty much never see much on foot. I've snuck around the mountains near York Montana and didn't see and never seen a mountain lion or cougar, wolf, coyote, foxes, bears, unless I'm traveling or at a zoo. I hunted in Alaska, Montana, Maine, Texas, North Dakota (1 and only deer at age 13 for the meat, despite it was poaching in August)Heart shot, leg shattered. Double tapped it. .22 Cal Rifle. I miss living in the woods and walk everywhere and anywhere unimpeded. Whether it's George Town, Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, San Diego, Or the darkest forest at night, to the deserts, Prairies, and Korea as well as Canada. I've fought 1 to 8 individuals, from throwing stars, machetes, knives, bats, sticks, chains, guns, tire irons, etc... Literally, I have stopped in mid swing after opening the bedroom door and my friend was on the down swing with a 6"blade knife. I snatched it and she punched herself in the stomach pretty good instead. Lol. Jumped 20 feet and choked slammed a guy just as he rose his hand to slap a fellow soldier and a female in the face. Disarmed a few attackers. Most run away. I received 2 black eyes, 1 knife cut and 1 pilsner glass cut on my head. No bruises ever! I do bruise, but when it's accidental. Lol. Practiced MMA since I was 8. Plus our family had a stalker from 1975 to 1985. After I got a gun, he quit. I was and still would go through the window and kill him with my hands! He's gotta be pushing 70 at least. Should be easy if he wants to try me. Please! I'll give you my address and bring any weapons you want! Guns knives etc... Just know, you will die! Since age 5 to 15 and my whole life, insomnia, PTSD, and high awareness, even if I'm intoxicated. Still fought 8 Koreans and the first 3 went flying trying to kick me. One dropped kicked me in the back. I absorbed the blow and summer saulted over and landed on my ass. That's when a guy hit my head with the kitchen knife he was carrying. They stopped me and asked for a cigarette. Tombay esso? I obliged as another 2 asked for one. Then the original requestor spit on my face, as did another, before I told them the next time is going to start a fight, as the 3rd dude spit on my face. I put my hands up. It was on then. I'm 53 195lbs, and somewhat fit and flexible. Sabé Indigenekaz, Migizi Dodem, Boise Indingeba. Miigwich for sharing and Miigwich for reading.
P.S. The Annishinabě Tent Shaking Ceremony is amazingly awesome!

"Anishinaabe Star Knowledge Stories and Winter Legends"
It's a bit misleading -- some people may believe these stories are true. It would be helpful to explain the words "stories" and "legends." That way no one will confuse them with real scientific knowledge.
