Hawaii Mauna Kea Summit Drive | Sunset

This is our second visit to Hawaii Mauna Kea Summit / Keck Observatory. It's a 1+ hour drive from Hilo to the visitor center on a rainy day. As you drive up from the saddle road to the summit, Mauna Kea slowly reveals itself above the sea of clouds. The sunset on 13800 ft+ summit above the cloud is truly Epic. I feel very fortunate to be able to experience this in person with my family: the sun and the moon seem to be so much closer together during the sunset it feels like they're only separated by Mauna Kea itself. There is a sense of purity in the air and every color in the sky feels so much purer and more vibrant.
