Best carp fishing day EVER

  • If anybody ever tells you that carp fishing is not exciting, tell them they're doing it all wrong. This was the best carp fishing day ever. It was so much fun with multiple double hookups.
Using worms for bait, and fishing in the Colombo Creek in the Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia, I managed 5 carp for the afternoon, and I also managed to christen my brand new fishing rod.
Yes carp are an introduced pest here in Australia, and as you can see in the video I did not return them to the water, however just because carp are a pest species does not mean that they are not a stack of fun to catch.
As I get older I am finding myself enjoying carp fishing more and more. Catching carp is great practice at reeling in fish, especially big carp that pull like mad, such as the last carp that I catch in this video.
I am rating this as the best carp day ever for me, just because of the sheer excitement.

The rod being flexible, enables the force on the line to have a more drawn out time, so it's kind of like a force dampener, it doesn't reduce the total force, but it draws it out over a longer period than if the rod was rigid, which would result in the force from the fish instantly unloading on the line and a more likely break of the line.

As a fisherman in the UK we target carp trying to get that specimen big one, we kiss them and put them back, I respect your laws and rules on invasive species which is good, I only wish the UK would have the same attitude towards signal crayfish. But Robbie once the carp have bred to those numbers you will never stop them, good luck nice to see you trying. The new rod and reel performed well even though you could do with an extra pair of hands, 2 double hook ups brill. Nice one Robbie

Hi John thanks so much for understanding. I cop a lot of hate from European anglers. LOL I agreee 100%. One of the guys that follows me on Patreon chooses to release his carp, and I think very highly of him for it, simply because I agree with what you are saying. Anglingf pressure is a drop in the ocean compared to these fish numbers. Think about this creek, it is probably longer than your entire country. (That is no exaggeration), At a guess it is probably several hundred kilometers long with an access point every 20km or so at best. The rest is on remote private property. How could fisherman possible remove all the carp? LOL In Australia it is frowned upon if you put them back, and it is a common misconception that it is illegal. I find it hard to believe that anybody could ever be charged with refusing to kill something.

@@robbiefishing must be as in dirty water as they a nice tasting fish mind you trout can taste bad if in muddy water or old, all fish stink in the heat, and you just need internals in zip lock bag for bait. mind you at least you treat you invasive species right they just passed a bit here in England saying we cant shoot invasive birds or vermin birds like pigeons and migpies

Rosemary Davidson my brother probably caught 100 in 3 days and all the Thailand people came and tried to buy them and we gave them the fish for free and if they were going to eat them Well they were just sitting there for three days in the hot sun and ants eating away at them that is disgusting!!!!!
