all i can say is that it is a uniquely grueling experience, particularly for a melee user. while fader is not inherently difficult, the fight is marked by a tediousness that is hard to overlook.
fader’s combat strategy revolves heavily around his meteor and spike attacks, both of which leave flames that do persistent fire damage over time. this mechanic, while initially engaging, can quickly become a source of frustration. as his health depletes, he increases the frequency of these attacks, enveloping the battlefield in flames and making it increasingly difficult for melee users to approach him.
this design choice transform what could be a straightforward battle into a protracted test of endurance and patience. the constant need to navigate around fire zones turns the fight into a repetitive cycle of dodging and waiting, rather than an exhilarating duel. for melee users, this experience is particularly taxing, as the relentless fire dot significantly hampers their ability to engage the boss effectively.
in summary, while fader offers a unique challenge, it leans to heavily on repetitive mechanics that detract from the overall enjoyment. the encounter is less about overcoming a formidable foe and more about enduring a drawn out battle of attrition.

i used the asksvin cape, but i barely noticed an increase in my movement speed regardless of which direction i was facing (i assume the weather wasn't windy enough) so ashen cape would have been a better choice.

I'm srry, but I don't think this is hard mode, I play in hard with the top tier armor set from this biome and full upgraded, and this thing one shot u with one f hit, don't bs me

that's strange. fader's melee attacks are relatively weak, even on hard difficulty. he shouldn't be able to one shot you unless your hp pool is very low

Fader does mostly pierce damage so the root harnesk is actually better than flametal breastplate
With the armor in the video...
210 pierce damage on hard mode gets multiplied up to 420 damage
With root harnesk, it halves pierce damage down to 210 pierce damage
With 97 armor, the 210 pierce damage would be reduced down to 113.
That's a lot of damage, but not necessarily a one hit kill if you have decent food
On the other hand...
Full set of Flametal with ashen cape would be 138 armor with no pierce resistance.
The 210 pierce damage would do 420 damage in hard mode.
The 138 armor would reduce the damage down to 282 damage would would be a one hit kill
