    I love my Coravin but why am I constantly changing gas capsules after only a couple bottles of wine? What am I doing wrong? How long should each capsule last?

    How did it hold up after 6 months? I'm keen to know if the hole sealed up in the cork.....

    Thank you so much for the detailed unboxing. I am THE worst at setting new things up, so this is extremely helpful. Also- it would be so wild to see if you tasted that same bottle 6 months from now and then a year from now to see if it holds up!

      Yes I am curious as well to see how well my Amarone holds up!!! I will report back in 6 months!

    So what happened after 6 months? Did it keep the wine safely sealed?

    I still haven't decided if I should get a Coravin. I do like the idea of being able to try more wines.

      I'll report back in 6 months to tell you if it was worth it

      Do it. Secondhand ones in my area are affordable (50 ish). It'll pay for itself when one nice wine doesn't vinegar itself.

    I love my Coravin. It is the way I pour my wine to drink and do tastings. I’m not opening an entire bottle for a glass. Word of caution, synthetic corks will leak when using the Coravin and wood corks will leak if you don’t screw the needle in tight.

    • @TheSommNextDoor
      @TheSommNextDoor  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the advice, Chris. Maybe for those just taking out the cork and using the screw cap to insert the needle is better...? Also how long have you been able to keep your wines fresh?

    Why didn't you buy the Coravin 6?

      I personally didn't think the exterior finish mattered to me. Other than that they 3 and 6 are pretty much the same

    Try the same wine 6 months or a year from now and see if it has changed.

    It takes the fear out of opening a special bottle of two. Now you can finish them at your leisure.

      Yes being able to pace my bottles would be wonderful .. but I probably should have checked how much these argon capsules are haha

    handling of this staff must be as careful as possible and only in special bag, otherwise it will projectile sharp glass pieces if accidentally dropped or after impact. It's dangerous, cause it's pressurized. Please, be careful!

    Reviews are supposed to inform the public and help the public decide if the product is right for them. Your review was spot on, and informed me enough to do just that, so thank you. Having a Coravin is probably just extra carbon footprint and complexity than most people need, and considering that the capsules only last for 15 pours, it strengthens my views on that. Besides, since the standard 750ml bottle of wine only does 4 pours, and most people can finish that bottle off in a day or two, only a truly frugal hermit would want to seal off a bottle for some lengthy duration to preservie it. So my conclusion is, for most people, no need to invest in a wine preservation system like this at all. Of course, the Gen-Xers, who I am included in, will disagree with this, as we were brought up in the age of gadgets and toys and bragging about them. The gen-Z or Millenial crowd are much more likely to agree with my comment and see that our over creation of products is killing the planet. :)

    So what were the capsules for ? Just to remove the gas ? Sorry , but this item is poor and the comments here are from some of your uniformed followers. This item retails for $200+. A complete rip off.
