    If you click "SHOW MORE" in the description above your be able to see Links to the Tools 🔧🔨🔧 I use. Also Clickable Chapters📋 📙 throughout the video and other Links 🎬 that may be of interest. I've had a few viewers request where they can buy the tools they see in some of my videos but it's not very clear that the "SHOW MORE" tab has a lot of information in that may be of interest. Admittedly the amazon links are associated with me and I would earn a small commission which helps towards keeping the channel funded.

    Successful oil & filter change in my Dacia Logan 1.2 following these instructions. Everything was the same except the old oil filter was too tightly screwed and I had to use some extreme measures

    • @CoatsandGaiters
      @CoatsandGaiters  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats great news. What were the extreme measures lol ? not in an easy place is it.

      @@CoatsandGaiters Nope, certainly not an easy place. After trying to loosen the filter by hand, with a filter wrench and then covering with rubber the metal band of the wrench, it still wouldn´t move. So I had to pierce through the filter with a screwdriver and use it as lever, and then voilà! it turned at last.
      Needless to say, I covered the new filter´s rubber band with oil, placed it with extreme care and followed the 3/4 rule, so I hope the next time will be easier.

      By the way, Mark, I have been looking for the fuel filter under the car unsuccessfully, from what I´ve read some models of Dacia hava the filter integrated in the fuel tank and need no periodical change, do you know if that´s the case with our car?

    • @cutariechucutariechez2581

      Ok, I checked in the Dacia manual that the fuel filter is "for life"

    I wouldn't have brushed the oil spilled over in the oil collection cup back into the engine as it must surely have contain dust and dirt and also the brush may shed dirt particles and bristles into the engine too.

    • @CoatsandGaiters
      @CoatsandGaiters  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know off hand but I have heard it's next to the fuel tank on the passenger side. Sometimes they don't have separate ones and just use a mesh in the fuel tank on the pickup.

    I have a clio campus 1.2 16v 75ch 77.000km I thinking using the 5w30 as full synthetique oil. Should I go ahead ? I'm using the car in Tunisia

    • @CoatsandGaiters
      @CoatsandGaiters  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think the thinner oils give a fuel economy advantage with less drag. In the UK it tends to be 5w30 that's recommended but that might be due to our colder climate Joe.

  • @jamel472
    @jamel472 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How much you run the car before the next oil change since it is a 5w30 oil.

    • @CoatsandGaiters
      @CoatsandGaiters  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Generally the more often you change the longer the life for the engine. I think in dusty condition you'd change it more frequently but over here in the UK I tend to change at 8,000 miles if I can.

    i have the same car the same engine, when you pour 4 liters of oil on the meter it shows far above the maximum. the engine is d4f 1.2 75ps .... some explanation

    • @CoatsandGaiters
      @CoatsandGaiters  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's unusual, did you drain the oil when warm so it runs out easier? and change the oil filter as the filter will hold a bit as well?

    • @milanmirasevic86
      @milanmirasevic86 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CoatsandGaiters the engine covered only 35000km. During the warranty period, it is maintained by an authorized service center. For the first time, the oil is changed outside the authorized service, but I have experience on other cars, nothing complicated. Great video for replacing timing belts👍

      @milanmirasevic86 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CoatsandGaiters the engine was very hot, I used a glove that protects against heat. I didn't wait for the engine to cool down at all, I immediately drained the oil while it was still hot. Oil filter replaced. 3.3. 3.4 liters is to the maximum. The only thing is that the measuring rod is not calibrated properly, I have no other idea

    • @CoatsandGaiters
      @CoatsandGaiters  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@milanmirasevic86 That could well be the issue. Could explain things, I'd ring the main dealer and give them the VIN number and explain to them just encase there was a modification on your particular model. If they say 4 litres and you've put 4 litres in then Id notch the dipstick so I knew in future. Can the dipstick rod have dropped in the handle by any chance and needs pushing up?

      Ali T. 5w30 seems to have become the standard oil today as it’s good for fuel economy being fairly thin so less drag. Fully systematic oil is far better for the engine and again is seen to be standard practice now.
