Bushcraft Camp With Our Wives - We Make a Large Table From Start to FInish - Off Grid Living Comfort with hand tools.
This time, along my wife, Despina and I and another couple of very dear friends - Razvan and Carmen spent two wonderful days of bushcraft camp at the permanent shelter. It is actually the first time we brought the girls to the shelter and being in four turned out to be really useful in building a necessary addition to it: a table. We used large logs to build it and it was a complex project as it took us all four two days although having the girls around all seemed so much easier. The girls spent the time cooking, cutting fire wood and helping out with the details and the fittings of the logs for the table.
At the final of our project we inaugurated the table with a feast - a pork and vegetable traditional Romanian stew. The nature around us seemed to be in sync with our hearts and join in our joy by send us a fresh, quick spring rain. After there heavy snows of winter and the heavy dark days and pouring cold rains of the cold season, we all saw in this a clear message that spring is definitely on its way.
While eating and with all work finished we realised the simple but so important comfort and warmth a dinner with family around our home made offered. We were happy to chat around the bushcraft table for hours about a million things and make plans and hopes that such outings and building ( low impact, sustainable shelters, tools etc) in nature will be a habit we ll become more of a habit and tradition for us all in the future.
This outdoor table will be a great place where I will serve delicious meals with friends and family. A place to relax where many ideas will be born.

very understandable to start fires and for a fast coal bed. I am 72 years old spent a lot of my life herding cows and living out of a tent enjoyed watching you. and every one has there own way if it works use it

Wow! Beautiful and great project. The table came out super big and solid. I also like your cooking set, solid iron, a good idea that gets rid of sticks, tripods, strings and more. Wives helped you a lot, you couldn't do without them 😁😁😁😁 Congratulations. I'm waiting for more videos.

ladies worked well with each other, but think they need a longer saw it would work better at cutting then that little thing lol i think they also earned them self's a nice cold beer :) good video
Thanks for watching, Joe. You're absolutely right, with a bigger saw they cut easier. I had discussions on this topic with them, from 3 saws they chose the little one :)) . But they did a good job anyway . I was surprised at how much firewood they gathered :)

I can not figure out why in all these videos they always split the wood into really small pieces instead of leaving them big. Once the fire is going. the smaller the wood the faster it burns up and the more wood you go through
If the wood is wet, you have no choice but to split it. Another reason I split them was cooking ... I needed a strong flame for the stew. Thank you !
