I worked for Horizon for the past 5 years and the change from Q400-E175 has been a hard pill to swallow, many of use who are use to working the Q's miss them because they simply are an easy aircraft to work. The E175s are great aircraft but since we've changed to the E175 we are no different then Skywest, Horizon has in fact lost its uniqueness that it once had when the Q's were still in service. The E175s do not have that community feel that the Q's had.

Sad to see Horizon lose its unique little Dash 8 fleet and see them lose their positive points

They already retired their A321s? I thought that was supposed to happen at September

You’re right, not all of them, I jumped the gun. They still have a few. I was hoping to fly on them before the end but I got swamped twice.

I'm more surprised that Alaska is using a regional jet between LA and Seattle. Even Burbank sees the 737s. Maybe a one-time repositioning flight?

Not really surprising. Alaska has a lot of flights daily between their main west coast hubs (SEA, SFO, LAX) and use all sorts of aircraft, I've seen A321s, A320s, 737 Maxs, 737s, and E175s all operating these routes.

The moments that Alaska switches away from distance earning and/or most another airline decides to serve routes entirely within the namesake state are when Alaska will lose its northwest stronghold.
The loyalty program alone and to an extent a captive audience is what's keeping it afloat in the Northwest. There's no way they can copy that in California as it is, and I swear people in control know that.

Another great video! How did you get from LAX to the In-n-out burger? thanks for sharing :)

Honestly I just walked. You can walk across/cut through the rideshare lot, then it’s like 3 blocks with a sidewalk the whole way. You could also take a cab/rent a scooter but it’s 20 minutes tops.

I'm really glad my first time on a turboprop was last july, flying a Horizon Q400 from YVR to SEA
It was a very fun little flight, sad to see the Dash's go, E-jets are still cool, but not as cool

Indeed, but there's still airlines that swear by them. I recently flew both the 100 and 400 on Widerøe, and that's all they fly!

i feel like Horizon Air shouldn’t have retire Dash8 too early.
