You really have to play the first one to get the full experience. Even though they made this one so you technically don't have to, there's definitely going to be some rewarding things for those who played the first. Unfortunately, I barely remember what happened and I'll need to brush up. Oxenfree is a weird case for me - I played it on a whim and was just floored by how good it was. Got sucked into the whole thing. These aren't the kinds of games I normally play - but there was something about it that kept me hooked till the end. Hopefully lightning can strike twice with this one.
It's pretty rare to find a franchise so solidly made. It may be a hot take, but I genuintely found this game to be even better than the original. Mainly because of the focus shifting more into the characters and their histories than the supernatural elements (Not saying the supernatural isn't big here. We just don't focus on the mystery since we already had the first game for that). It also helped that the cast were mainly adults, making it easier for me to relate to them lol

Hey noisy pixel, do you feel this game will get picked up for a physical release? Ty
I really liked how bleak the first game ended up being. Looking forward to playing this too.
0:47 this release is off by one month, says June instead of July... insignificant and nitpicky oversight but I had to say lol
I mostly enjoyed the first one so with that & this information I’ll pick it up.. eventually.

Eh, these narrative heavy + gameplay lite games aren't my thing, so I'll pass.
Looks way too similar to the first which I completed. The environment looks like a copy paste. Not worth it to me.
You got frustrated by picking the last transmitter first, but you didn't bother telling us where not to go? Why are you even telling us then?
Because this is a review. Not a walkthrough.
