      Thanks although unfortunately I’m having a bit of a problem landing it again.well even though I fell already I still have a bit of a fear of it and I have trouble landing both my feet on the board like the board either slips away or I slip away and land on the floor or only one of my feet lands on the board.somehow I find pop shuvits easier idk why I just pop and scoop and don’t look down just jump and I find the board coming naturally to me.when I try to do this rolling however the board just slips away backwards.sorry to spring up these problems but I rlly wanna ace this trick cuz it’s fun to do :)

      @@zainazulfikar4716 No worries! If the board is slipping behind you once you try to land then you might be leaning your upper body too far forwards towards the nose when you flick it. If you can try to film yourself to see if you can catch your body position.

    I can never predict where the board goes when I try shuvits. Sometimes it goes way ahead of me, sometimes to my left, sometimes way ahead to my right or flips over... how do you get it consistent??
    It's the most frustrating trick for me so far =S

    • @SkatingwithAaron
      @SkatingwithAaron  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Shuvits seem to be frustrating for a lot of people so don’t beat yourself up. It definitely was for me at first. Once you get it though they become super easy! As for consistency you really need to pay attention to your footing and the motion of your feet when performing the trick. Be aware of what’s happening every attempt so when you can try to replicate the good ones. The consistency will come from that same foot placement, pressure, swipe, etc. You’ll get to a point where they become automatic (for the most part) and you don’t have to think about it. Try recording yourself for 5-10 attempts and then watch them all in slow motion to see what going on. I review my footage in slow motion all the time when editing my videos! You got this! 🙌

    • @SkatingwithAaron
      @SkatingwithAaron  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Without seeing what you’re doing, my guess is that you’re not scooping behind you and instead pushing the tail more in a downwards motion. With a regular shuvit don’t worry about pushing the tail all the way to the ground. Also if you’re regular footed and the board is ending up to your right instead of staying in front of you, then I’m also guessing you’re leaning forward (towards your front shoulder) too much when you go jump. Try to keep your body weight centered over the board and if anything lean a little towards the toe side edge. Let me know if this helps!

    Really solid trick tip Aaron, love how you break these down. Shuv-its have been a staple for me for such a long time and definitely are one of those basic tricks everyone should know! Great video man!

      Thanks Neil I appreciate the positive feedback! I agree 100% that this is a trick everyone need to learn. Can help them get past the fear of their feet leaving the board and landing back on it. Hopefully it helps some folks!

    The Nollie tip is what got me to understand this truck better. But this trick is so simple and clean but if you bust it out in a line then it makes the line look that much cooler in my opinion.
    Another great video man. Can't wait to see what tips you have for the pop shuv it.

      Glad someone else was thinking about it the same way. Goofing around and trying nollie was the first shuvit I ever landed because I couldn’t do it regular. Soon after I started nailing them.
      I agree 100% on the line! Even if it’s just an Ollie and then a shuvit, these are one of the easiest tricks to start linking others together and they still look great. Great way to switch your board back around after a pop shuvit as well! 😉

    Hello Aaron, I am having major issues with shuv its. I just started to learn skateboarding about 2 months ago, I am OK with my pushes so I wanted to learn some tricks and shuv it is the first one most of youtube skateboard learning channels say is the easiest; but I have been struggling in for almost 1 month. I am unable to get the skateboard to rotate - I get on it, do the proper foot placement; jump - push back and the board does not move. With shove its; do you do like a kick turn move with the back foot (as it is shown in the 04:00 of the video), meaning pushing the back wheels down? Or do you just jump forward not straight up and slide your foot back to rotate the deck. Could you maybe shoot a video when you are shoving the board so we may see how you move the back foot on the deck from your point of view. Maybe I am uniqely untalented for the shuv it but I am determined and get crazy angry because I am not able to do it - almost thinking quitting to learn to skateboard!

      Hey Emir! First off don’t get too frustrated. Skateboarding is extremely hard to learn, but will also be extremely rewarding if you stick with it! In my mind you need to be able to push comfortably, do tic tacs, kickturns, and even small manuals before trying shuvits. Shuvits are extremely hard for beginners as it’s the first trick you learn where your feet actually leave the board. This is scary for most, and it’s easy to not fully commit even if you think you are! I show pov examples at 1:10 in this video, but I can certainly make another video showing more examples/ angles. Thanks for the suggestion/ request! FYI, I do push down slightly on the tail but focus more on swiping behind me to get the rotation. If you push straight down too much you’ll start to do a pop shuvit instead. That or the board won’t go anywhere because you haven’t learn to control it yet. Hopefully this helps you a bit. Keep me posted if not, and possibly send me a video showing your attempts so I can give you direct advice!

      @@SkatingwithAaron Hello Aaron, sorry to bother again. But do you jump off of your front foot or back foot for a shuv it. In my head I feel like I need to jump off with my back foot as the tail need to go down to provide space for the wheels to turn, this step isnt explained in or emphasized on many videos so I am quite confused here.

    • @SkatingwithAaron
      @SkatingwithAaron  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@emirtanju Hey bud. You’re not bugging me at all. You’re jumping with both feet, but with a bias towards your back foo. This is because you have to push the tail down while your front foot lifts up! This is something you’ll really start to learn with Ollie’s. Are you able to push comfortably without falling? Are you able to do a manual on flat ground? I made a video for you and just posted it today if you haven’t seen it yet: th-cam.com/video/QAJdjqywdTs/w-d-xo.html

      Best guess is you’re not swiping down and forward with your back foot. You do need a slight push forward to keep the board even with you.

      @SkatingwithAaron  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheDisplacerBeast Still the same concept. If your body position is even over the board and it’s still going behind you, then it may be your swiping motion. When you go to scoop with the back foot pretend like you’re drawing the letter J. This will give you a slight forward motion at the end to hopefully keep the board even with you.

      @@Sim8n Good update! Sounds like you’re getting the rotation but since the board is landing over your back foot it’s a simple fix. This tells me that you’re not staying in the air long enough for the board to complete the rotation. Means you either need to jump up higher with both feet, or simply focus on getting your back foot (popping foot) up higher into the air. If you film yourself I bet you’ll notice you drop it to the ground shortly has popping!
