I've purchased SO many tape emulations, from cleaner ones to dirty lofi vsts. All good, but it was WIRES that finally gave me what I was looking for the whole time. It's a "must own / use somewhere on every song" kind of plugin IMHO. I really hope to see more Audiothing + Hainbach collaborations. I feel like having Hainbach involved on a VST --- he knows the nuances of what musicians need from these tools.
@HAINBACH I also echo the sentiments of those hoping for an IOS/iPad version of this wonderful thing, I don't wish to seem greedy, as you just gave us the amazing Gauss Field Recorder (Thank You!). These toys are just what I have been looking for : )
I gotta say, this is amazing. I really love the behavior it has. It may be one of the first VST's I invest in at this point. The delay alone is warm and beautiful. And add on the glorious rich tape noise and all the other characteristics.... really a beautiful, expressive device!
AudioThing's Reels has been a regular in my productions ever since its release, but judging by this presentation it seems like there's now a challenger to its reign. And it seems rather fitting that it is also an AudioThing release. And what a sound! Beautiful distortion, haunting echoes and pretty much the most usable dropout effects I've heard in any plugin! I was really hoping for a plugin version to be released, but I'm having trouble grasping that it actually happened. Thank you so much for making this a reality, Hainbach and AudioThing
The *SECOND* I heard the effect, I didn't even watch the whole video. I insta bought the plugin. I have a similar effect in Logic pro X where I take input one and run it to a bus then back in and a spider web of in an outs. It's all done by feel too, can't use bpm meter because reasons. This does what I'm doing, but in a nice tidy package! SUBBED AND BOUGHT!!!!!!
Wires = the best. You have many obvious ways to use it, but after 2+ years of using it I can tell you it's worth it. You have to spend many days with it to realize it's potential. The surface, it's obvious, but it's SO much more! Start thinking of impractical uses and you'll catch what I'm saying. Hainbach - You are a wonderful human. Seriously. My compositions will just be meh then 'wires' kicks in and I'm like "oh yea, that is nice!"

So I jumped right out of my sseat when I found out you had your hands in making a plugin version! Recovery Effects released the Shortwave pedal earlier this year. It does lo-fi radio and wire recorder emulation. Simple, more limited controls but very cool in its own right.
Now that's how you sell a plugin! I had to stop the video half way through ... to go any buy this plugin! I was pleased to see that you can even try out the demo before buying which was a nice feature. Also, I picked up 'Reels' also from AudioThing as they were offering a further discount on Wires if Reels was also purchased. Easy to install and activate/authorise. Great stuff!

Wow! How did you manage these loops? And how did you drive them, as far as I know all wire recorders are reel driven (e.g. no capstan) so making loops run is rather complicated.
bought it and used it with my OM-100 Omnichord. just amazing! gets very detailed and obscurely profound almost immediately. I ran two instances of Wires, with a couple different effects in between, in an effect chain while slowing down the tempo with Argotlunar to create a long drifting echo that breaks apart and reverberates as you play it. It's another arrow in my quiver of dusty, warped inter-dimensional analog sounding plugins. Wires sounds so dusty and ethereal. Fits my music style perfectly, in other words.
I love the character of this so much. Really hope you will have future collaborations with Audiothing. Loved your vibe ever since I heard the Bruderkrieg soundtrack. So glad you are putting out plugins now
This plugin is really cool. I bought Reels and then added this. I don't know why the vintage sound is so satisfying. Maybe it is because I grew up listening to music on old transistor AM radios either through a tiny speaker or a mono ear bud.

EDIT: I got it working in LMMS and bought a license! It works great and sounds sick as hell. So cool. I can't get the demo to install correctly in my (admittedly ancient) FL Studio. I can get it imported as an instrument in Linux Multimedia Studio, but it doesn't really function well as an instrument alone... can't figure out how to get it in the effects rack of a mixer channel. It's a shame, because if I could get this working on my install of FL Studio, I'd buy this in a heartbeat!

Had to buy it! Wonderful tone. It has a stereo or dual mono function. Great to add ambiance to the entire mix. Works great on Ableton 10 as well as Logic X on Mac. Thank you Hainbach!

there's one on eBay right now, being sold for about 150EUR, so I gather that for normal purposes it's much more reasonable to buy the plugin instead.
I’ve been struggling to release an EP of some ambient/electronic music but have consistently felt that something was missing. FOUND IT!!!!!
The interface just plain looks amazing! I love the look of the wire recorder and glad it's faithfully reproduced.
