I just got this camera a month ago. Everytime I go out to shoot something and bring it back for editing my mind continuously gets blown. I watched too many videos to find this camera as a selection. Then seeing videos of PAID creators saying oh its bad, crop sensor, low light performance. Ignore them because there's no such thing as perfection. If your camera has a flaw learn how to work with the flaw...that's the fine artist in me. But great video, keep them coming.
THIS IS CINEMA! This is the kind of thing thats made me want to dive into the world of cinematography. Capturing feeling and nostalgia is sooo difficult. Aced this
Ho-ly CRAP. I just ordered an FX30 last week and I've been feeling skeptical after seeing reviews on the "terrible lowlight capabilites" the fx30 supposedly has... but you've proved that clearly it's all about how well you can use the dang camera. Amazing footage and editing Roman! You've made me so excited to get my new camera and to get creative! Cheers from Canada.
As an FX 30 user I can tell you that the low-light performance is very good- and the reviewers who trashed it are TH-camrs- not cinematographers! NO cinematographer gripes about a high native ISO of 2500- in fact that’s something they love!
@@robertaltman222 So glad to hear this! Got mine in the mail yesterday and it's gonna be a bit of a learning curve coming from an a6300, but i'm glad to know this camera is very capable of producing amazing footage all around.
Same person, From a different channel. You are increíble, my friend. You’re making me think about purchasing the camera. Too bad I can’t purchase your style. You’re the best!
Wow, just wow. Quite possibly one of the best reviews of the FX30 yet, instead of spending 20mins bagging it out for crappy low light, you just sent it. Well done
Somehow this video slipped past my view until now. I'm working with a colleague of mine to present four stories to our followers and have them vote for one of the four in a poll. The one that wins will be what we film to completion. It's been a while since I've shot with my FX30. So, I will be shooting some test footage to wrap my head around the FX30 again. After watching this beautiful video of yours, I've realized that your LUTs would work perfectly for (at least) one of the four stories we are developing. Even if this story doesn't win, my friend and I will still film it because we both love the story. Out of all the LUTs I've looked at, I've only purchased a handful. When it comes down to which ones that have the most impact, I always end up on your LUTs. Your LUTs not only have a unique look, but they are also the most cinematic. There's an emotional depth to them that I don't see in any other LUTs. Thanks again for sharing your amazing imagery.
also we are at the point where the FX30 can pretty much do a feature film....go back and watch No Country for Old Men....the FX30 can provide an image with just as much dynamic range if not more...
Amazing! Im always so impressed with the amount of gorgeous „abstract“ shots… (shots where the subject is only partially in frame or extreme closeups)… i rly. like how „cinematic“ (there, i said it) they appear… and the colorgrading and Music…truly inspiring!
The main problem with 120/100 fps, depends on your setting in FX 30, 25 oder 24 fps, that the Catalyst Browser wouldn't stabilized your footage and wenn low light-than it comes recognizable noise in video. My way of dying slow motion footage: I using 50 fps setting and afterwards I change speed in FCPX to 25% slower and in "Video Quality"-Optical Flow. First of all- I can stabilize video, it will be less noise. Thx Roman für deine Video!
It looks so good. Especially the close-up of the eyes. I use the same lens, but couldn't get any closer than around 30cm at 70mm. Did you zoom in during editing?
Thank you! i think it will most likely replace my bmpcc 4k for a while for sure. this Sony sometimes makes me very angry during filming, but when I see the result, I forgive her everything;) I really liked how the fx30 coped with backlighting, sky and aggressive contrast. in such conditions even bmpcc4k had banding.
Which lens were used for this video? It’s breathtaking. I’m on the fence about getting the FX30 because of the crop and people saying that the 120p isn’t great, but now…I think toss is the one.
Looks great! Are you using Cine EI ( slog 3/ S-Gamut3.cine )? Do you overexpose your shots for sLog3(1.7 or 2.0) as well or keep a 0.0 exposure since you shot this with a F2.8 lens?
Did you use a steadicam for shooting or did you shoot it with your hands? Steadyshot Active? At the FX30 + e16-55 F2.8 I want to shoot something similar. And your work is excellent! The quintessence of the word "life"...

The FX30 is a great tool that allows you to forgive mistakes that can be corrected in post-processing, or take a well-shot material to a higher level.
Yes! Super 35 is not an issue. You just need to know how to work with it

The moment with the sand was pretty close to Dune movie! Well done, mate
Just came across your edit. It's mind blowing and very well done. Stunning footage

Thank you so much! 🙂🙌
hands down the best fx30 footage I've seen so far, I was still undecided about purchasing it but I think this video may have convinced me
Roman, could you please make a video about your exposure/grading workflow with fx30?
Me too needed a video of exposure/log &grading wok fllow. Thanks inadvance!
I couldn't resist and made shorts using this wonderful video, the name is family holiday
Absolutely breathtaking. Literal chills the entire time I was watching, this is next level stuff. Just completely blown away. 🙌

Well worth my time. Lovely work. Took me back to my youth.

Your skills are amazing! We love your videos! We been watching for years. This is one of your best! Bravo!
Those sand blowing shots are Dune level bro!

also we are at the point where the FX30 can pretty much do a feature film....go back and watch No Country for Old Men....the FX30 can provide an image with just as much dynamic range if not more...

Hi Roman, great images! I would also like to see how the fx30 is in harsh sunlight condition
Wow man, you really know how to work a camera… that was incredible
This was amazing! Super inspiring!
Nice work there … I think was a bit challenging to film in that windy sand.
Amazing vibe 🔥
beautiful footage. All the 120fps FX30 I've seen before was uninspiring or of mediocre quality. Here every shot is beautiful.
Beautiful captures Roman. Keep it up man.
Stunning. What strength mist did you use?
amazing video
It's amazing can you please help what setting you did for the slow motion in fx30?
It looks so good. Especially the close-up of the eyes. I use the same lens, but couldn't get any closer than around 30cm at 70mm. Did you zoom in during editing?
Thanks! try doing it at 120fps
would you recommend the fx30 over the bmpcc? great footage man, subscribed
Lovey work, as usual. Do you find the FX30 replaces your BMPCC4k, or is there anything that keeps you going back to it?
Thank you! i think it will most likely replace my bmpcc 4k for a while for sure. this Sony sometimes makes me very angry during filming, but when I see the result, I forgive her everything;) I really liked how the fx30 coped with backlighting, sky and aggressive contrast. in such conditions even bmpcc4k had banding.
Which would you keep FX30 or BMPCC4K if only one?
FX30

Thanks! Adobe Premiere Pro

I don’t use the steadycam. steadyshot standard or just off.
@@RomanHense Thanks
I like your job... It is wonderfull...
Amazing footage! When i film 4k120 with my fx30 even in base iso i get a lot of grain. Any tips to fix that?
